2) Tyus Jones and Gary Trent are interesting players still available.
3) This team could win with Taj at Backup. The first 4 are as strong or stronger players than 95% of the league. Big 4. Will find a backup C.
5) Deuce, DDV and Hart took playoff teams to the brink. Entire rotation has playoff chops.
6) Patience is the winner in free agency. A lot of bargain basement deals will be left to be had.
7) Offer Lebron the $5m MLE. Make him say no. :).

Nick Richards is being mentioned and seems like the sort of buy somewhat low piece who is on a bad team but could come to the Knicks and have the sort of breakout we need at center.

I for one had no idea about who Hartenstein was until the Knicks signed him. So, while I am still very worried about not seeing the FO's contingency plan for losing iHart, perhaps they have had not just one, but several contingency plans in place. And are quietly working on each of them one by one. And maybe they already have some other "no name" in sights that they will bring in like they did with iHart. So, I am worried, but not panicking just yet.

Nalod @ 7/3/2024 9:31 AM
Reality is the fans alerted knicks front office that iHart could sign elsewhere!
The work by the UK posters and threads provide the needed intel to assist Leon. Our Cap explanations really must help Brock Aller!
Man, these guys are so lucky to have us!

Remember when Mozgove hit the scene? 7 foot kid nobody knew and was very under the radar. He had a nice midrange jump shot too!
It was like he came from nowhere. Was that International scout Kevin Wilson find? This was under Donnie Walsh BTW>.
We need a "Mozgov on the Hudson"!!!! LOL......

Can we still bring over Rokas? We might need to explore trading Deuce for a big if we can bring Rokas over.

I don't get this persistent attention to Rokas. What exactly has he done to merit it, apart from being European and having been picked by us in the draft? What makes him any better than, say, Frank Ntilikina?

If Deuce is traded, I guess that opens up things a bit more for Kolek. Plus both Bridges and Burks can handle the ball in a pinch.

And if Kyle Lowry were to sign with us for some kind of a minimum, just for the pleasure of riding the Nova banana boat, it would be really nasty (for other teams).

Perhaps we should be talking about the merits of Sergio Llull, our reward from the Austin Rivers trade. Legend. He's a spry 36 with real credentials. https://www.realmadrid.com/en-US/basketb...

Proposed trade from The Athletic:

Pistons receive: Miles McBride, Mitchell Robinson, 2025 DET first-round pick, multiple future second-round picks

Knicks receive: Jaden Ivey & Jalen Duren

Do you do it?

I would counter with Duece for Duran and thats it.

No, I’m not trading McBride who already looks better than Ivey or the best offensive rebounder and very good rim protector for unproven youth. Plus a first no way. That’s a package I would do for a proven star that wants out of his current situation.

If Robinson stays healthy and McBride keeps growing that could be a disaster of a trade.

Ahhh, the storied Savior Point Guard from Europe tales from Knicks lore. I remember names like Antoine Rigadeau, Oded Katash, more recently Luca Vildoza, who made his way over here for a brief while, and, of course, Pablo, who actually did well here.

We drafted him, he wants to come over, and he’s had lots of hype for his performance last couple years in Europe.

DLeethal @ 7/3/2024 2:45 PM
Are you discrediting solely because he’s a Euro or based on his skills/performance?

If Mitch could give us one fully healthy season, I would say no. But Knicks really need a reliable center and Jalen Duren would be a huge addition.

ESOMKnicks @ 7/3/2024 4:19 PM
Okay, so now Burks is gone. Now we have a problem both at backup center and third-string PG. Or backup PG if we trade Deuce.

Whatever Leon's contingency plans may have been, I really hope to see them in action soon.

Or one season out Mitch plays but 45 games, and deuce has plateaued. While, Durant surpasses Mitch and Ivey keeps getting better?
Could go either way? Your assuming Mitch improves his health which has not been proven, and Duce takes more leaps. Im not predicting yes or know, but at the same time assume Ivey and Duran stagnate or repeat what happened on Detroit. There is an upside that is not verbatim. Yes, we know what we have run Mitch and Duece. There is a risk. There is if you don't do the trade.

Its just hypothetical.
