Pistons receive: Miles McBride, Mitchell Robinson, 2025 DET first-round pick, multiple future second-round picks

Knicks receive: Jaden Ivey & Jalen Duren

Do you do it?

No, I’m not trading McBride who already looks better than Ivey or the best offensive rebounder and very good rim protector for unproven youth. Plus a first no way. That’s a package I would do for a proven star that wants out of his current situation.

If Robinson stays healthy and McBride keeps growing that could be a disaster of a trade.

Or one season out Mitch plays but 45 games, and deuce has plateaued. While, Durant surpasses Mitch and Ivey keeps getting better?
Could go either way? Your assuming Mitch improves his health which has not been proven, and Duce takes more leaps. Im not predicting yes or know, but at the same time assume Ivey and Duran stagnate or repeat what happened on Detroit. There is an upside that is not verbatim. Yes, we know what we have run Mitch and Duece. There is a risk. There is if you don't do the trade.

Its just hypothetical.

Whatever Leon's contingency plans may have been, I really hope to see them in action soon.

Kolek will be fine

I see your point too, would suck if an offer like that was on the table and Mitch goes out for a long period and duece reverts to loosing his shooters touch . I like both players in Ivey and Duran, but Mitch is arguably the best offensive rebounder in the league and McBride is a great 3 and d guard off the bench … they are tough to replace, might be better off holding on to them and waiting for a star who wants out.

I don't get this persistent attention to Rokas. What exactly has he done to merit it, apart from being European and having been picked by us in the draft? What makes him any better than, say, Frank Ntilikina?

If Deuce is traded, I guess that opens up things a bit more for Kolek. Plus both Bridges and Burks can handle the ball in a pinch.

And if Kyle Lowry were to sign with us for some kind of a minimum, just for the pleasure of riding the Nova banana boat, it would be really nasty (for other teams).

Yes! I don't understand the obsession with Rokas either. To me he's just a second round pick. You can't make any projections until after he plays minutes in the NBA.

DLeethal @ 7/4/2024 9:17 AM
If no Rokas Lowry for min is an option and also Cam Payne who has that dog in him and I think would be a good depth piece.

Loved Burkes in the playoffs but with Mikal here, he's not needed. Thibs can just give the extra emergency minutes to Duece

Lol, this guy said we have a problem at 3rd string PG. 🤣

To make you worry less, we did draft a good PG who can pay 3rd string.

How does it work that we can resign Precious AND get the MLE? I thought Precious was essentially UFA now.

Nice! Resign Precious and sign a vet PG (Lowry?) or a big body veteran C (Zeller?).

We have his bird rights

I also kept getting confused. We have not renounced him, we just did not extend him a qualifying offer.

No idea if this is legit, saw this morn

DLeethal @ 7/4/2024 3:01 PM
Malachi Flynn also not a bad deep reserve
DLeethal @ 7/4/2024 3:01 PM
Can we split the MLE to sign two vet min guys?
Garrett2010PSD @ 7/4/2024 3:03 PM
So Knicks can re-sign Precious AND still use the 5.2M MLE.

That is great news. Brock Aller using his magic again.

DLeethal @ 7/4/2024 3:05 PM
Precious, Lowry, and some reserve big would be ideal if we can somehow figure that out.

If you are splitting the MLE, it would be to offer players more than the vet min.

You don't need the MLE to sign a player to a vet min contract.

Garrett2010PSD @ 7/4/2024 3:11 PM
Bringing back Precious and trading for Duren without giving up Mitch would be such a win.
