Cam reddish-type anyone?
Caseloads@ 6/25/2023 7:34 AM
Ideally someone who can swing between the 3 and 4 as we have enough 2/3 undersized swing players
Caseloads@ 6/25/2023 7:38 AM
A kris Murray would have been great
A Taylor Hendricks would have worked well, he was gone at 9
The second tier ended around 9/10 in the draft with picks 11 to about 25 even and then 26 to 45 even

Are you giving up on RJ already? Granted the advanced stats hate him but I still think he's got the potential to do it all. 20+ points per game vs Miami in the playoffs at age 22.
Philc1@ 6/25/2023 8:12 AM
Yuta Watanabe

Not giving up on RJ
He needs better coaching / decision making
Huge huge fan of RJ. Likely the best pick from his draft class - between Zion’s unavailability and Ja’s nonsense, RJ is solid. He needs to become more reliable, power to the goal more, less far away jacked up jumpers

Problem is reddish isn’t the prototype because he couldn’t shoot and was only engaged defensively sometimes. The guy is Paul George but obviously you have to take the risks with him.

Dammit! Where was this Rosetta Stone 20 something years ago?!?
Let Obi play SF. If Denver can let Michael Porter Jr. play SF and he isn’t as athletic as Obi why not let him be our SF.

Exactly. He hangs out at the 3 pt line anyway

Maybe Rose can tell Thibs that

The issue is Obi's ability to move laterally on defense. Despite his athleticism, he is not a good defender. Thibs knows that already quite well.

I get that his lateral mobility is an issue but still think he would perform better at the 3 spot since most PF's handle, face up, etc... Obi's lack of strength and rebounding would be less of an issue at the 3. Obi's strength to leak out after guarding on the perimeter is a better alternative vs leaking out when he's relied on to be a 2nd rebounding option... it could also offer us some easy baskets which we struggle with. Definitely not perfect but trying to maximize what he could offer us with play time - while still utilizing Randle and his strengths. RJ's defense at the 3 this year wasn't great btw...

I know this is a different era. But didn’t Riley take a center Charles Smith and play him at SF. I don’t buy the lateral movement argument because everyone I the NBA is suspect moving laterally.

Lateral movement is a key aspect of a player in pretty much every sport. In fact, it is a gigantic separator type talent/skill.
