I predict Knicks finally trade for a star player and it's KAT. RJ Barrett is in the deal for the Knicks and possibly Obi
I also predict the Kicks trade for OG Anunoby and IQ is in that deal with Robinson
And finally we sign DiVinchinzo and extend Hart. Jokubaitus comes over to fortify the bench

They only have old Conley at PG. They would want IQ, RJ & Obi as base.

My radical prediction - Knicks resign Hart and nothing else happens. Fans riot and call for Leon's head. Brunson balls out in FIBA.

While I hope you're wrong about us going for KAT... if we did I would have to think Randle would be in the deal somehow as Thibs wouldn't play KAT as a center b/c he loves rim protection. Maybe Randle and RJ in the deal. Can't see Randle playing next to KAT.

I predict we resign Hart and keep IQ (and McBride). We try hard to acquire Lavine but fall short. Obi gets moved by the deadline.

so Hart has opted in.
I think DiVincenzo would be a great signing and it makes a lot of sense- but we have duplicates.
SO- thinking about what our package of players/picks might be on a trade out for a talent- no idea who.
Obi, Grimes, RJ, EF- couple picks not our own for PG13.
Then- you are starting:
Brunson DiVincenzo PG13 Randle Robinson
Bench: Hart, iHart, IQ.

I predict we trade Fournier and Obi for scraps, sign DiVincenzo and someone like Taurean Prince to replace Obi. No major trade for any star.

1) Barrett, Fournier and Toppin for KAT and Jaden McDaniels. Assume we send some picks. 2) Mitch Robinson, IQ for OG Anunoby. Assume we send picks. 3) DDV for Full MLE 4) Biannual to Rokas.

About 162m this year when you add the other roster spots and two way contract. About 3mm under the tax. Going forward, you have extensions and such to watch but could potentially manage them with the tax and the apron rising pretty significantly. It’s pretty well situated here with some contracts decreasing in value.

OG to CAA hold significant stock for me. Either RJ and a few picks for OG or RJ, IQ and very little draft compensation for OG. Signing DiVincenzo, or if he’s unavailable, Malik Beasley as a backup plan.

This would be an ideal offseason for me but really don't know if RJ alone (plus picks) does it for Toronto, which is even weird to say but who knows. RJ/IQ feels like too much IMO but someone else framed it as OG/DDV for RJ/IQ and I felt a little better about it. No idea what or if Obi would be included?
Definitely would not want Chris Boucher back from Toronto cause of his extra year but is Thad Young still alive and kicking?

The free agent market is really weird with CBA and the near hard cap rules. The money is just not there. OG needs a path to create leverage for a trade so his bird rights transfer. He might not see a path for FA as his best and forcing a trade might be his objective. Why else would he change agents? Perhaps he did not agree with them and visa versa? Or its about sucking up to CAA and the MSG connection? Or leverage to get the deal in Toronto done instead of waiting? Do I want him here? Lets just say im not sold change is always improvement if RJ is the price, but im not closed minded about it. Perhaps if I was a Raptor fan I'd be a fan of OG and not want him traded as well. I Trust Leon.

Knicks use Obi TPE to trade for Joe Ingles.
Don’t think it’ll happen but hoping for it: RJ McBride Rokas plus picks for OG Thad.

With this roster cap problems will arise in '24 season. KAT jumps to $52M (and then between $55-$65 per season through '27-'28). Randle increases to $32. McDaniels will be an RFA and jump to $$11M+. Hart is rumored to be looking for $20M per extension. OG has a player option and could be looking at a $35M+ per season extension.
The new CBA put in a cap levelling component so you may only see perhaps up to 10% rises per season. With the proposed roster, Knicks will likely be over the 2nd apron in '24.
