Until then lets just assume this is an 18 year old chasing a life long dream and hopefully not crushed by being Lebrons son. Im sure he is not a perfect dad but he seems to be involved and has stayed married keeping his family intact. Public personas can be manufactured. Jordans was well protected and Kobe after his mistakes needed time to mend his family and his image.

I know Roids are wrong and dangerous. But its not like a magic potion either. Players still have to put in the work.

Yup and of course the psycho anti-vax lunatics are also having a field day. Some people are so stupid!

What's the point of having Kyrie around then?

OMG it’s like watching Randle in an off year.

And this is the guy who has the biggest contract in the league?!

The Knicks and Celtics are pretty similar to me. Tatum and Brunson are legit top-tier players. Brown and Julius are both very good scorers but lack the polish needed for that top tier. All four are very good one on one players whose teams struggle sometimes b/c the ball sticks and/or they don't make really difficult shots. I think the Celtics are very legit contenders and I think that reflects well on our build. At the same time, I think we will be in the same spot with Randle that Boston was with Brown. Is it a crazy amount of money for Brown? Sure but they could win with him and at this point, I don't think they could move him and get a return that keeps you at your current level.

The Jazz are really interesting to me this year. Collins was a 40% shooter from 3 before last year. Lauri is a heck of a shooter. Sometimes they play Kelly O at 5. Is Sexton, Clarkson, Lauri, Collin, and Kely O a death lineup? The spacing is really good and Sexton/Clarkson can really score off the bounce. The big kid Kessler looks good too. Not much depth but they are interesting

kinda crazy but Brunson is really up there, i mean he only took 17.6 shots per game and scored 24 per game. Tatum scores more but he's been around 21 shots per game the past 3 years.

For his career Tatum is 22.5ppg on 17.2 FGA per game, just goes to show you how great Brunson was last year, and I think he can improve even more slightly. He started a bit slow last year until it became clear it was his team. The last 3-4 months Brunson was arguably a top 10 player.

we got a real one.

And I will say looking at Randle's playoff numbers, he wasn't that bad against MIA, maybe he can find a role as a 20ppg scorer in the playoffs who defers to Brunson and maybe even RJ.

I'm totally fine running it back and hoping that one of RJ/IQ/Grimes reaches their ceiling.

He is one of the best scorers on the planet. People are going to have to get used to that. I think some fans look at him and think even if he's good he has to be an "all-around" guy or something. He not. He's an unstoppable scorer. I don't know if he can be a guy that gets 50 as often as Lillard or even Randle when he is on fire but he can get 25 on good shooting most nights unless you totally sell out on taking the ball out of his hands and play 4 on 3.

EwingPSD @ 7/28/2023 9:48 AM
Minnesota is my other slept-on team next year. With Kat and Rudy on the floor, the Wolves were very very good defensively last year. They stunk on O until Conley arrived. Conley was able to use Rudy in PnR and the offense got much better. Jaden McDaniels is also turning into one of the best wing defenders in the league and Edwards looks like he could be an all-league defender on the perimeter as well. The Rudy trade was a huge overpay but the team can still be really good. I wonder if McDaniel has a little leap in him offensively.

agreed. his efficiency is off the charts. MIA threw everything at him that last game and he still dropped 41 on 64/50/89 shooting line.

He doesn't fit the mold of superstar but we got one... and I keep saying this but he's a young 26 who is just NOW starting to carry a stars load.

We wanted a superstar we got one, and dirt cheap too. Now lets build around him the right way instead of trying to star chase old guys like PG13.

No way! Next, you'll tell me that are people out there who inject potentially fatal toxins in their face in order to get a youthful appearance. 😏

Slow down!

I first need to finish my super sized big mac and fries - with diet soda so don't judge me - and round that off with a cigarette and some of this homemade moonshine.

And then we can discuss the detriments of taking a vaccine and why I will never put something into my body that will kill me, my body is my temple.

The NBA called Dame and his agents bluff that he would only play for Miami.

This is the Full Tweet if you don't want to click it to read the whole thing.

"Full NBA memo sent to all 30 teams regarding rhetoric on trade request made by Damian Lillard and his agent Aaron Goodwin.

“Recent media reports stated that Damian Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, called multiple NBA teams to warn them against trading for Lillard because Lillard’s only desired trade destination is Miami. Goodwin also made public comments indicating that Lillard would not fully perform the services called for under his player contract if traded to another team.

We interviewed Goodwin and Lillard and also spoke with several NBA teams to whom Goodwin spoke. Goodwin denied stating or indicating to any team that Lillard would refuse to play for them. Goodwin and Lillard affirmed to us that Lillard would fully perform the services called for under his player contract in any trade scenario. The relevant teams provided descriptions of their communications with Goodwin that were mostly, though not entirely, consistent with Goodwin’s statements to us.

We have advised Goodwin and Lillard that any future comments, made privately to teams or publicly, suggesting Lillard will not fully perform the services called for under his player contract in the event of a trade will subject Lillard to discipline by the NBA. We also have advised the Players Association that any similar comments by players or their agents will be subject to discipline going forward.”"

^ Good.

Also read JJ Reddick gushing over Grimes. If Grimes can turn into an efficient 18/5/4 sharpshooter, this roster might already be a contender. The potential is there with him.

100%

If Grimes makes a 3rd year leap, and IMO he will, Knicks gonna be sitting pretty.

My hope. And RJ taking a step. Could solve everything. We'll know much better next season what our young players are.

and it would feel so much better than trading for a star.

Grimes has the potential, he rushes everything but he was basically a rookie.

Last year something clicked for IQ mid season and he went from a guy that shot under 40% every year going back to college, to an efficient 20ppg per 36 two way player.

if things can slow down for Grimes I think he has great potential.

I think “things” clicked for IQ when RJ got hurt and he played more mins in a different role. “Things” slowed down for Grimes at the end of the year when Julius got hurt and he got more touches out of the corner and the occasional screen to work with. Guard heavy lineups might increase ball movement. That would get Grimes more opportunities to work with. I don't see him averaging 18 if he mainly spaces against a set defense for a 1/5 PnR or a Julius clear out. How much they emphasize ball control/2nd chances will determine how much opportunity there is for secondary weapons.v

I fear desperation if the team isn’t as good next year. I see fans taking down to “play in” teams all the time. We could easily be the 7 seed. Last yr the Knicks missed 104 games due to injury (3rd least). The Heat 292 (2nd most). Standing pat isn’t terrible but I hope it doesn’t lead to a knee jerk reaction if they experience a little regression.
