And now we see why nearly the entire league passed on such a "talented" guy. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. But you have to wonder about the things we didn't even hear about that caused Cleveland to throw up their hands and discard him for nothing. Of course, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but this guy's track record makes it hard to give him the benefit the doubt.

You are relentless

Just want a veteran depth piece who can shoot who won't cost anything. Gallo maybe as a waiver pick up after the deadline ?

Or Trevor Ariza or Channing Frye.

Tony Wroten has fans

Big KOQ is only 33.

I disagree. I really don't think most teams or teammates care about what guys do outside of the team. I bet teams didn't want Porter b/c of how he behaved around the team not b/c of what he did off-court. Lack of emotional maturity, impulsive control, and just being an asshole might be reasons he is an abuser and a bad teammate but teams care a lot more about the latter IMO. Jason Kidd is an abuser. I am sure guys like Stephen Jackson did a lot of dumb shit off the court. Those guys were hard-working professionals when it came to basketball

Well in this case he has a girlfriend he beat up go to the hospital after being choked and receiving a broken vertebrae. I don’t think the teams or league can let this one go.

I think it all matters. Teams don't want locker room disruptions, especially if they come with major PR headaches. I'll also add that different teams have varying levels of tolerance. The Spurs waived a guy in the second year of his rookie scale deal last season for not wearing underwear during his appointments with the sports therapist. My point is that there were probably issues on and off the court that we didn't even hear about.

What constitutes a star player in this instance? The Knicks don't have any "stars" if you listen to a lot of experts. We should be good.

Knicks arent really affected by the sitting out stars issue. Other teams might want to give their stars a few minutes less a game. Dial it back just enough to kick that can further down the season.

People thought we were done with the big moves but Leon pulled out the trump card.

Thats a player worth trading IQ for. Makes sense. They'd also be getting a younger player, who can put up similar stats.

That's funny Clean.

Also think a guy like Ryan A is just another add to what should be a very SOLID locker room. It has to be a good feeling for a coach like Thibs knowing you have a group of 4 Brunson/Hart/DD/Archie who will work to keep the room positive and that you also have guys like RJ/Grimes/Quick/IHart who all seem like good cats. I'd like to add Jules in here but he seems to go off the rails too often despite having a good relationship with Thibs.

These college connections are way overrated. Three Nova guys sputtered pretty embarassingly against international competition

I have no issues with Ryan. All 4 Nova guys seem professional. Brunson has always seemed intense and unflappable and he clearly runs things now so long as it doesn't go to his head they have strong leadership.
