We have picked only keels the last 2 years
This years team flat out stinks.each facet of
Avenues of improvement are important and we somewhat dismissed it
We’ve acquired picks but have given up our own.
Looking back the draft picks for reddish and hart should’ve been paid w acquired assets
It’s ok but next year our player pipeline from the draft portion should be reengaged

You can’t take it too seriously though right?
You want to draft kids past 2 years and then not be able to play them? Like Obi situation?
These things actually matter or is this just a video game?
Love hart.
The two, Ousmane Dieng and Kris Murray are very good

I wonder why he left out the protections on the picks we got back. Could it be because they are so bad that those picks might aswell be considered 2nd round picks? I'll see myself out again.

We gave up a lotto pick that could have been Jslen Wiiliams for cap space

Clean you need to refresh yourself on what the protections are cause I think you are dead wrong.

Cap space so we could sign who Case?
Literally this is endless dip-shittery. Stop being a dipshit

I get that you can't play that many guys- IQ, Grimes- they're potentially going to eat a lot of minutes.
But what happens if Grimes doesn't pan out? Or someone gets hurt?
I am a bit concerned that we haven't drafted anyone recently- that we don't have even a project that can take Obi's minutes.
And they have done good work finding really good talent in the late draft.

Brunson, who is an amazing top 25 player. However, Jalen Williams is a top 60 player, and frankly may be better than RJ, Obi, Quick, or Grimes. The Jalen Williams could be a true 3rd option over the other guys we have now.
We could have dumped Cam instead of the pick for cap space and gotten Jalen Williams (who is also better than Josh Hart)

While I admit they are not as bad as I remembered they are still bad when you consider the teams recent history. We know teams don't value protected picks so they won't be as useful in trades. The Jazz trade talks and the Spurs recent transactions show just how little they value protected picks.
We will definitly be getting the Mil pick but it is sure to be near the end of the round. The only thing that changes that is if Giannis asks for a trade or they get hit with a ton of injuries that season.
We won't be getting the WAS pick. They are going deep into tank territory. If they somehow get close to giving it up one of those years they will pull a Mavs.
Det is perpetually a terrible team. No matter how promising their young talent looks they always suck. their young talent will also be signing for big money around the time we most likely would get the pick. They don't have a recent history of being big spenders so the rest of the team talent level will suffer. I doubt we get their pick and like WAS if they get close to giving it up they will pull a Mavs.
It's possible we could get all 3 but would you willing to place a large bet that both WAS and DET will play decent enough to make that happen?

Everyone understands there are certain tradeoffs? You know, just like the Obi situation or maybe you find that situation better for a draftee and want to do that again?
After that I guess the simple answer is that your panties get more in a bunch over nothing.

I can't respect that opinion, it's just made up nonsense.

I'd place odds that all 3 will convey.
Would you be willing place a large bet that 2 of the 3 picks will not convey as first round picks?
I too wish they prioritized the draft these last 2 years because they have had success drafting later in the first and second round. Knicks need to keep the pipeline full. It’s my one gripe with this front office.
It’s ok where we’re at. I just like to refocus on this area going forward. It would be nice for example to have a Tari Eason in our pipeline or a cam whitmore. Right now we have a full roster but you want to use 13-16 on younger talents imho

IMHO, the only appropriate come back to this line of thinking is "and I wish I was banging Ava Gardner." That way I'm ragging on not only your low expectations but also how dated it is.
If Obi puts up 20/8 for a play-in Indiana squad while the Knicks are a top 4 team, are you really complaining? Knicks got Hart and DDV in the past six months, what rookies are raising the roof over the two of them over the next 4 years of Brunson and Randle? And that's neglecting IQ Grimes and RJ also being in the pipeline.

In these here parts, Jessica Alba is also always a correct answer.
I think they have not prioritized because of the focus on bringing in another top level talent. I think they are thinking you bring in young players there has to be spots and mins, plus Thibs is not that experimental. Then you eventually have to pay these kids.
I think when they get that third piece or when they have to pay Brunson and Julius, which ever comes first, they will pivot back to the draft. This will be the fuel (cheap young talent) for the back end of the rotation of the team. This will be absolutely needed given the new cba and how much Brunson and Julius will make and their % of the cap. Then think about the new deals for Hart, then next Grimes and Hartenstein.
Right now they view picks as currency that has a lot more universal appeal than the actual player picked itself which is a “beauty in the eye of the beholder” scenario. They keep stockpiling them for this very reason.
The flaw in this approach is as they get better their own picks garner less value, at least the immediate 4-5 years. The picks further out have the appeal, but again that is banking on NY turning into a dumpster fire in the future. I think there has to be a balance because a productive young player in the middle of his first contract has more value than the FRP…but to get that value to materialize the player will need that playing time and be allowed to work their mistakes. Thibs is not the coach for that. This is whole Obi situation as they waited to long to move him and he got devalued. They rather just not make the pick.
It’s can sometimes be truly a missed opportunity.

Good points!
Knicks have been trading current year picks with their value known. I. last seasons to open up space for Brunson AND future picks. This year's a non lotto pick for Hart with the expectation that the Dallas pick would convert.
