Yep. Surround with 3 shooters and that PnR is deadly.

If JB and Mitch can get on the same page, we wouldnt have to invest so much in a Center. I'm confident that an effective Robinson/Brunson combo would play a big part in getting us to the conference finals.

We dont need an MVP at Center. We do need JB and Mitch to make a concerted effort to develop a two-man game. Hopefully someone on the coaching staff is encouraging it as well.

Love Mitch. Embiid and Thibs are kind of a made for each other though. Look what Thibs did with Noah (who also had a similar eccentric personality). Embiid is twice the talent. Brunson is also the leader and playoff performer that Embiid has been craving for. Granted he had Jimmy that one yr, but they choose Tobais over him.

Embiid transferring from Philly to Knicks puts Knicks in a championship window. Competing with Boston who will get screwed cap wise soon, and aging Milwaukee who will also be screwed cap wise soon in the East. Mia should drop given they lost multiple key role players, unless they add Dame.

Embiid/Brunson at 26/29 prove a 5 year championship contention window. With strong glue pieces already installed with Hart & DDV.

Before there was a possible trade, I'd like to know why Brunson isnt finding Mitch in the paint. RJ was having more success last season at connecting with Mitch.

RJ has a lot more PT with Mitch, but Mitch is one of those bigs who can finish an alley oop from just about anyone. What about PnR's? How many times did JB and Mitch attempt one? Dont remember seeing many.

I'd like to see Brunson and the coaching staff work with Mitch on developing a two man game before a trade is explored. If anything to increase Mitch's trade value. Who knows, Mitch might make a case to keep him in a Knicks uniform. There might be a trade that doesnt empty the roster of picks and players. An improved Mitch might make it more doable.

Embiid will be 30 next year. We arent giving up the farm for a young Melo who missed very few games up until his final years in NY. It would be for a great, but aging, and often injured center.

Maybe all we need is a picture of Mitch practicing with a former NBA great and we can fawn all over as a picture says a 1000 words.

Mitch is limited by his hands and won’t in this lifetime have even a midrange shot which limits him.
Im not advocating to move mitch, but if you can get Embiid with enough to contend this could be the trade. Knicks might be quite good without any major deal.

Former NBA role players are acceptable too!

Will the Harden drama turn into an Embiid exit? Im crossing my fingers it will. I saw a trade oroposal by Andy Bailey of bleacher report for a 3 player plus 4 1st round picks. This trade seems to by light but if they can pull this off il be happy. Trade: Mitch, IQ, Fournier plus 4 1st rounders for Embiid.

With that kind of a trade the knicks will remain solid and the bench atill formidable. If only its that easy. Can they learn how to share the ball?

Embiid, Randle, RJ, Grimes and Brunson

Got any other adjectives? We will accept any other adjective.

You go us keeping both RJ and Randle. That would be super.
Josh off the bench?

Embiid will probably end up in Miami with Butler and Dame.

Has to be only one of Dame or Embiid. But incredibly - even though Miami has limited resources - feels like one of them will happen.

And then the Knicks will probably get Embiid lol

It could happen if Riley decides to give up Bam in the deal for Embiid.

You think the Bam-Embiib swap is just player for player or would more be involved?

More would have to be involved. Imagine the Raptors getting Giannis straight up for Siakam? A top 30-50 player isn't going to get it done for a top 5 guy. I doubt Bam and Herro gets it done alone. Miami would have to find a way to get more draft assets or they would get waived off like Portland is doing to them.

I'd rather have Bam vs Embiid - cheaper, healthier and could fit next to Randle better...

There is no reason for Miami to trade Bam unless for Embiid. So not sure how the Knicks land him. Embiid is only possibly available due to 76ers current situation.

My point was Bam would be a better fit or player if we were seeking a trade. Technically a 3 team trade could happen where we end up with Bam but...

Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Embiid rumors are back. Makes since why IQ not extended and how the FO is pumping up Mitch and
Sims trade values with positive NY training camp talk.

Nah. More of the same cause of the Harden drama.

Knicks are in a position though if it came to be.

BigDaddyG @ 10/24/2023 11:23 AM
Hah, seems like negotiations have already started.
LivingLegend @ 10/24/2023 11:35 AM
That is a pretty crappy offer if true and personally I’d have serious concerns going after Embid.

- lots of injury history
- when do his knees fall apart - he’s 30 in March
- his #s have dropped dramatically in playoffs
- his turnovers sky-rocket I believe in playoffs as well - I believe a net negative assist/to ratio

Most interesting thing here is timing of this rumor on eve of season starting. Is this from Embid camp trying to light fire under Sixers or are Knicks planting seed in Embid mind or is it all baloney. Most likely baloney.

He’s obviously a great player but I’d hate to give up young promising talent and picks, in hopes that he stays healthy and somehow succeeds more in NY.

Philly, make us an offer we can’t refuse.

Well said. I am in this camp and i am an EMbiid fan.

I could make the case i'd rather lose Randle who is an all nba because i still think he has some challenges handling NY and the pressure in the playoffs.

Tobias Harris far better fit with Embid vs Randle who would be an absolute head case / disaster as 3rd wheel.
