54.5% from the field 50% from 3pt. His rebounding is a little anemic at 2.5

The kid started his preseason for us in April. Just another good flying under the radar move by the FO. They got him the system early giving him a better opportunity to succeed.

Let's see if he plays tonight

Waived!

We hardly knew ye…..

Not a “Thibs guy?”

Suppose they have Intel and that other teams are about to waive some more attractive players soon. Or that is what I hope is going to happen

Need more guards. Randle slots for 48 minutes at PF and 20 at backup center.

Or Sims earned the backup PF slot

It’s a good call

I don’t know how you miss Grimes

EwingsGlass @ 10/18/2023 9:36 PM

Barrett shoots…

blkexec @ 10/19/2023 12:15 PM
Speaking on the starting lineup, I'm not a fan. Never was a fan of RJ and Jules starting together. I don't think they compliment each other. And whenver RJ has the ball, watch Randles body language, it says it all.

On the flip side, when Randle has it going, seems like RJ starts bricking. I've noticed this for years and we saw this again in preseason. I think this is the key for us to make noise in the playoffs. JB is fine. Randle is fine. RJ will start I'm sure. And Thibs will yank either RJ or Grimes, depending on who has it going.

Thibs has his hands full this season, due to higher expectations and a crowed roster at multiple positions (minus PF).

I remember Phillip Seymour Hoffman sometimes attending Saturday practices at Chelseas Piers. His son was a few years older than mine. It was pretty shocking when he died.

At least it was a regular turnover and not a spin over. Baby steps...

I almost forgot about the spinover

Randle and RJ play with their tunnel vision on high. Having two players in your starting lineup and get the highest mins, both have too much tunnel vision. This what 5 yrs of chemistry get you? lol

He virtually does this every play.

Typically he will be open at the 3 and will either fumble the pass or catch it clean but not take the open shot. He will pass open the open shot - pump fake nobody and either go the the damn 3-point step back or the spinning and winning drives with all of us holding our breath.

LivingLegend @ 10/19/2023 9:09 PM
I’m a bit concerned with the basketball god’s.

I believe their is a right way to play the game - fast, ball/player movement & unselfish but the Knicks put up a huge offensive season last year playing lots of iso —— worried that could turn on us.

Have always had hopes / thoughts that Darius Basley would be a solid player 1 day — just cut from Nets but Thibs would probably spit on him.

I can’t make heads or tails of all these end of bench, 2 way and g-league related contract options these days.

Its a wonder that Thibs and company have figured out how to get the best offensive production our of the Knicks with tunnel visions guys like Randle, RJ and Mitch who doesn't have a ounce of offensive knowhow in him on top of having poor 3point shooters as a team, right?

This is what has me concerned - could last year have been a 1-year deal where Brunson initial arrival provided such a great boost but will teams adjust and leave us clunking & funking

which is why our post january Last season record was really really good?

Teams will adjust. Did Thibs not? Knicks executed.
Teams know how to stop brunson and Randle. But they have to execute it to do so.
Its ok to be optimistic and be disappointed. You might even be the type of fan that gets mad and feel better to do a "Told you so".
It might be a fun season were we win 47-52 games.
I've suffered disappointment before. I'll live. we can always fall back on "Savior" calls and pin hope on Embiid or KAT.
Or maybe Wemby wears a yankee cap and says how he likes MSG and we get off on that. Pop will have some health issue and perhaps we can do the "when pop steps down, will wemby ask for a trade". Or perhaps he strikes out and says "im going to be a free agent and choose my destiny, I get hurt before, then Jesus wants then has another calling". Of course we all know Jesus works for CAA!!!!.

I have to tell you, I’m in the exact opposite viewpoint and we will have to see it shakes out.

Brunson was in his first ever year of starting (full time and especially as the main ball handler), new teammates, and a few of those teammates needed to figure out what less usage meant for their games now that the Knicks had a very good one at the helm.

Maybe teams will scheme for Brunson more but all the other upside positives that point to better cohesion with teammates, his team in better position to feed off of Brunson having so much attention paid to him (and recall that was Miami’s exact strategy, and then Brunson had some pretty gonzo numbers in spite of all that), and just naturally growth from the young guys in general.
