Knicks · The I love Brunson "But" thread...... (page 4)

ramtour420 wrote:There is no "But" -Brunson is a winner, if there was one player that's Championship caliber on this squad it's him. Anything short of locking him up long-term for the max or near max would be a collosal failure. His best quality is not his 3 point shooting( one of the best in the league) it's not his scoring in the playoffs ( again , one of the best)it's not him drawing charges( the best in the league)it's not his footwork ( probably the best in the league)and there are other aspects where he is elite. What I like the most about him is that he is never rattled. His mental game is just outworldly. He never takes possessions off, doesn't get into it with the refs, he just keeps coming no matter what. I love that

Ram, nobody wants to see him leave. As I said.......

"Don't get me wrong,, its not about paying him or letting him walk. Its about the right price so its all good."

In my world I don't want him to be our best player. Why? For all the reasons Ram said.

This thread is an embarrassment, best Knick we've had since Ewing, and a leader on top of it. 26ppg on great efficiency and only keeps getting better. If you don't want to max Brunson who do you want to max? 29 other teams would gladly max him.

This is a very interesting statement. Are we definitively saying JB is better than Melo? Asking for a friend...

definitely? no, way too early. but certainly on pace to be.

Brunson's intangibles are much better than Melo. Melo was a better pure scorer, but Brunson is a better shooter from midrange, from 3, and a better leader. Melo was known for the midrange just like Brunson but Brunson has always been elite % wise on the mid range. Melo wasn't.

Heck you can make the case that when its all said and done Randle will be considered better as well.

Off topic, but is Fish still alive? He's been MIA for a bit. In case anyone is wondering, Briggs is posting on RealGM.

Yeah, just find a Knicks draft related thread and you'll find Briggs.

Update:

Several years back I had asked Briggs offline if he could kindly stick to posting about Knicks and basketball, he agreed that he would.

That did not occur even after several (over the course of years) follow up reminders and additional convo between the 2 of us. I had let Briggs know he should come up with a solution that worked for both of us [as I have run out of them] and I have not heard any suggestions back.

I appreciate Briggs basketball posts but I don't have time to fiddle with adults who repeatedly promise to do something and then straight ignore that and proceed to do what they want; it is a casual disdain that I don't waste time on.

Fish is probably just wasted in his basement enjoying spending time with his kids growing up.

Damn Martin. You keep a short leash. For those still here all these years, good job to you. Well done.

But seriously I wish nothing but the best with Briggs and these Knicks.

As far as politics. I’ve noticed since Trump was in office, political discussions are no longer a closet conversation anymore. It’s wide open for everybody to hear.

But I’m so glad Martin has standards and stuck by them. That’s why this is hands down the best Knick forum online.

Gonna defend Martin here, I never participated in those political posts but I know some if them caused hella animosity. This is a basketball board first and foremost. Sometimes you gotta stick to the script when stuff gets out of hand.

I think Briggs will come back. It's hard to stay away forever but kudos to you Martin. Moderating a message board cannot be easy and you do a great fair job imho. Like in the work place, there are certain topics that shouldn't be allowed - religion, politics. There are so many other places to talk about that stuff. No need to do it here.
