It’s a really good concept. OG, and to a lesser extent Achiuwa, provide this value, which is why it was the perfect trade.

Fancy way to say "chemistry?" I'm all for it!

The most impressive part about OG's NET RTG is that it's ballooned by a 36 point win vs Philly WITH Embiid and a 38 point win vs full health Denver. Other big margin victories include PHI again, MIA, CHI, TOR, HOU and POR. It's not ballooned by beating up on bottom feeders.

I think that was him most impressive play. He had several possessions he bottled up Embiid helping. Shut down half the floor.

OG Anunoby and Josh Hart’s net rating when on the court together is +30.6, 88.3 defensive rating
these guys are an absolute menace together.

I think our eventual "death lineup" is Brunson/Randle cooking with OG/Hart/Mitch doing their things.

Watching iHart stand his ground against Sabonis, and then have Hart and OG swarm with the help .... oh my goodness what an nightmare for a post player.

Switch Mitch with iHart and it’s the same death lineup with passing

Yes Sabonis has been a mini Jokic this year- a triple double machine. At the end of the game he was dribbling around under the basket trying to find any space to maneuver. It was a defensive master class against a player who is playing at an absurdly high level this year.

BTW we haven't even talked much about how we also contained Fox. Fox is averaging 26ppg on pretty efficient shooting and shot 5/19. We were all over this guy- contesting his shots and hand in his face. He made some good cuts, but even with his absolutely absurd drible/spins, we kept him out of the paint on penetration and forced him into hard shots. The lurking Anunoby was a huge part of this. Hard and DiVincenzo also great on deflecting/ripping at the ball. And the McBride makes people work one on one.

oh you nailed it. I really love this roster and this coach. You cant stop the scorers in this league, but if you grind every possession on defense the numbers will constantly swing in your favor.

We dont even have a style of play beyond guys doing whatever it they do best and of course metal bats on defense. It's wild.

Josh is our Iggy

Missing tonight’s game again. The man is made of glass.

Need to keep him healthy though. What the boys have been able to withstand is unbelievably impressive.

Definitely wanted to see him beat up their front court.

well he's either made of glass or Thibs is wrecking him. You have a rotation or is a shake the 8ball kinda thing?

Guy just came off surgery.. you know, scar tissue, inflammation... stuff like that

he's made of glass, this is who OG is, he's always missed a ton of games. He's played fewer games than even Embiid the past 5 years.

Not sure if you're being serious blaming Thibs?

If you look at OG’s history at a high level, you could draw the conclusion that he is injury prone. But, these have been one off unrelated injuries. The elbow is hopefully going to be behind him and he would, in a perfect world, not be playing.

OG is injury prone guy can't really argue that but all the good teams have guys like this. His impact is staggering and worth the injury risk.

We get it. You and MS. Its your thing. Call it out when he goes missing.
Wear it like you happy when "Your right".
Most of us are hopeful and that he can play 65-70 games season.
Last 5 years? He played 7 thus far. Got them weird covid seasons in there. First two he played 74 and 67. Embiid missed like his fisrt two years?
What ever. OG is not an iron man. We get that. The appendix was taken out 2019. Only an issue if he grows another one.

OG missed half the games, Randle missed the same half, yet his impact is so good we still 10 games over .500 since the trade vs the 3 games over .500 our fully healthy squad put up over the first 32 games of the year.

Gimme 60 games of OG over 75 from RJ/IQ.

Bingo! Healthy but guaranteed to be mediocre or more injury prone with a chance to be great.

we were one of the best teams in the NBA since the Jhart trade last year with one of the highest NET ratings, we were far from mediocre and loaded with assets and good young players to reach the next level.

if we wanted to take a risk to raise our ceiling why not trade for KP at 1/10th the cost?

OG wasn't the guy to go ALL IN on, not unless we traded for a star first, now we likely dont have enough assets to trade for a star.

You would have to go back to last season to try and cherry pick stats that made us look great. This was a new season, things change across the league all the time from season to season. This team was mediocre on both ends of the court at full strength for 32 games.

The KP stuff is just exhausting. You are the only person on this earth that talks about Porzingis with regards to the Knicks.

DLeethal @ 3/18/2024 3:27 PM
The Knicks with OG are 15-2 with historic net rating and have blown out some of the best teams in the league by 20-30+ points. I have no idea why you would make the case he's too injury prone and say we should have gone after a different injury prone guy. The only argument against OG is the injury prone stuff. There is no basketball argument beyond that because of how good this team has been with him. You literally could not be better than the Knicks have been, so far, with him on the court. So even a KP trade is 99% unlikely to bear the same fruit that OG has when he's on the court.
