I'm not sure you're getting anything worthwhile with those TPEs. How often do they even get used leaguewide?

Pretty much never. You can't attach a player, but can you attach picks or cash? I dunno. Let's say you trade for Jaden Ivey. You send the TPE and Detroits FRP along with one or two more picks. Detroit then has control of its protected pick allowing them to start dealing. They would also get additional assets for trade in more picks from us. We wouldn't have to send a player and we just fill our empty roster spot. Unfortunately TPE's are murky and I don't know if that is allowed. Ivey's salary is 500k more than the Obi TPE.

I think you could attach a pick to the TPE, but the incoming salary still needs to fit into the TPE. You would need to do a second trade that fits Ivey.

That's too bad. I'd like to see us leverage that Detroit pick somehow.

That's just mean. Let Evan go find a team.

No! I think Grimes and McBride read this forum and draw inspiration from us nonbelievers. Keep the thread open and allow them to nurture their hate.

We should trade him to a division rival. Like Boston or Philly.

Right.

And before we draft dudes, do the Brock magic and trade them bad boys back a few slots and then draft!

Jordan Clarkson next best option ? Brogdon didn't look great but he played sparingly. I crossed Jones off the list. Got to trades Evans contract for a better contract/player for deals next year. Let's get a center/pfz Precious is not that guy

if you thought Brogs didnt look good wait til u see JC.

We're at the point where we shouldn't be making any trades unless it's for a long term piece.

If we're going to bench or trade Deuce and Grimes it better be for a young, star level player that will be here long term. really the only guy that fits that is DJM and i'm even having 2nd thoughts about that trade now watching Deuce and Grimes.

I agree with that.
Seems media is framing the agenda knicks have to something all the while the team is just unraveling just what is possible with OG. My goodness look how Randle is passing! This team got a new look. DDV and Grimes are both playing super well.

Nalod will not say he predicted any of this but I have laid out hope before the trade that good teams can make trades and promote from within and thats the best case scenario. We only a few games in so the jury is way out but the early results are both teams win in this trade. OG is a freaking beast and can take on Giannis and Tatum and help with Embiid as we saw. Milwaukee seems vulnerable and we have a good chance to come out of this to the conf. finals but there is much to be done before then.

Gustav got his wish. Junk minutes under pressure? Last night Thibs pulled his starters early and it was crap. Its why its called junk minutes. Deuce and Grimes were chucking it and Precius looked like an idiot. Looked like a summer league game but worse. Sometimes the lower players pull down the level of play and.....with no pressure the game just goes to pot. There was nothing to be gained by it. I would imagine they scrimmage better than that.

At least get Archie a bucket?

Does that mean all junk minutes are junk? To be fair and kind to Gustav we need to address it with balance:
Why do they call it "Junk time"?

If a starting player get hurt in Junk time, could it have been avoided in hindsight? Perhaps. Injuries occur and its the great mystery of life. If in Junk time its fodder for media and fans to rail against the notion he should not have been in there and conjure up all kinds of anger. Fans love that shit! Yell at tv for coach to take out player, he twists his ankle and fan gets to say "I fucking knew it!". Said fan for a moment is smarter than said coach!

Yet when it does not occur does it not count?

Can we guess why a coach does not pull his players all the time or waits? do we need to discuss why the coach might be doing this?

Clarkson is shooting 40% from the field and 30% from three.

True and true. However, those figures are anomalous for his career. On our team he would be the 4th or 5th option as opposed to the second option in Utah. That change of responsibility may raise his game.

Alpha1971 @ 1/10/2024 11:28 AM
Maybe a trade to add to the bench on a low scale, Simms and Evan for Bagley and Burks from Detroit if they want to go with Grimes and Deuce and they can't find a bigger deal. Is Bagley terrible ?
