I don't like the Mavs but I love instances of basketball IQ being the difference between wins and losses.

Kyrie telling the guy to move to what was the strong side seems like bad for spacing. It was but the mistake by Ant made it the perfect move.

PJ knows to create space so Conley can't guard both.

Luka see's and processes whats going on without any communication and rejects the screen to pass it to the weakside that now has all the space in the world. All of it was possible because kyrie creates player movement and Ant had a brain fart and just wanders into the paint for no reason. Love it.

This is why player movement is so important. Just standing at the 3pt lines does not make the defense have to make choices. Every choice a defense has to make is a point where the defense can breakdown. Something as simple as a player going from weakside to strong side creates a malfunction in Ant that gives up an open 3. It probably has to deal with him being tired but that is why you make the defense have to make decisions.

Impressed by what Dallas is doing.
Made very good trades to compliment its stars.
I assume they resign PJ Washington. Great addition. Getting rid of Grant Williams was a plus as the could not stand him.
Chemistry and good health. Need them both.
I do believe if we had this we'd be giving Boston a run for its money and maybe beyond.
But Lady Luck shined us briefly but not enough to fully understand what we had. Teams would have adjusted to us a bit but we had multiple tools to adapt.

Timberwolvs being out played or are they choking? KAT poor shooting or is the Dallas defense handing him?
Luka and Kyrie are healthy and in synch. Thats some potent shit they throw out! Gaffords defense!!!! Credit due!

PJ got two more year on his contract. That roster should be good for another year, with THJ being the only major roster decision.

So I guess at this point I'm rooting for Dallas.

Luka is deserving, it means the Celtics lose, and it sets up a possible matchup in the 2025 finals between Luka and JB.

They're still playing games?

Yep.

Although I’m enjoying a rewatch of January on league pass much more.

Great job Pacers!
Rookie @ 5/27/2024 10:45 PM
Dang, Indiana chokes yet again. Did not score in the last 3:33 of an elimination game. More turnovers than points 🤣 My favorite highlight was the Jaylen Brown WWE smack down foul on McConnell….and it wasn’t even called a flagrant. Refs sucked in this game. Bastuhn celebrating in Indiana’s building. Another Indiana choke job, what a boring fucking game though.
ToddTT @ 5/27/2024 10:55 PM
I’ll allow it.

KnickDanger @ 5/27/2024 10:56 PM
Celtic starters 38, 40, 42, 44, 44 minutes. Blame Thibs? For the regretters I will say Obi outplayed KP.

Can’t say I’m that excited but f@#k the Pacers. Not pro Boston but it would be hard to root for a team with Kyrie and Luka. But damn they are capable of playing superstar level.

If that had been against Brunson we’d be peeing our pants. But I don’t think there was malicious intent.

Oh, and f@#k the Pacers.

What was the phrase...marginal contact?

You don't have to be a knick fan to want that!
And,
the Gods also got tired of Halliburton's "joy' as well. Its grumpy god, but a just one!
So why did he beat on the knicks so?
God is an NBA fan and thinks the knicks ascension this year was enough. Next year we make finals.
Not sure how the Hoop God feels about JVG being a paid consultant for the Celtics. My guess is if Mazulla does not win it all he gets canned and JVG gets the gig. Does he bring Stan and Mark Jax along?

Hope Sam Cassell gets the Laker gig. Its about time he got a head coach job. Maybe Darvin Ham paved the road for him? Lets just say he won't get much endorsement deals for mens clothing or skin care with a face like that.
JJ got that LA look with a punchable face. Like Riley did when he was all Showtime.

Dumb fouls by Towns tonight but even with his terrible shooting games 1-3 this kid is so skilled.

Tonight he goes for 25 in 30 minutes on 12 shots with a few big shots in the 4th and I think 17 in 2nd half.

Watching Manny play and with Ant Man with the ball in his hands most of the time -- he really is doing a poor job setting Towns up and overall the Wolves have been poor getting him good shots.

Makes me wonder if Brunson would have same effect on Towns he had with Julius last year -- calming effect.

Have never been a Towns fan but I didn't realize he could put the ball on the floor so well and didn't realize he can pass the ball so well.

Interesting and flawed player -- much like Randle but with higher skill level IMO.

Given KAT's contract and Naz Reids emergence I seems a natural fit to trade KAT for Randle. Not sure it keeps Minny out of Apron hell but it might be a better fit for both teams?
Kat has been "soft" and often injured. Playing not as the no. 1 option he has looked better this year and with Rudy their defense was formidable. KAT could serve a duel role giving knicks interesting look. Him at Center with OG at PF, or him at PF with Mitch or iHart in the middle with OG at the 3.

Everyone needs healthy players. Timberwolves were in trouble when Conley sat vs. Denver. He was key to them winning once back. Nobody wins without health. Kats contract is an issue for Minny and for anyone else.

Personally I like Randle a lot and not saying I'd hate KAT but can see the potential to get us to another level.
We going there with Randle as well.
Im thinking if iHart is not resigned this might be a way to realign. KAT passing like iHart but the pick and roll can be a pick and pop with a shot that Isiah does not have.

Admittedly, I've never been a KAT fan.But really turned me off was the 60 point game where they lost to the Hornets. The shot hunting and the lack of discipline was so bad that he was actually benched. Could you imagine him doing that crap on a Thibs team. I don't think KAT is a fit culture wise. And his salary is disproportionate to his actual court production.
