whatever Minny was throwing at Denver/Murray didn't work against Dallas

at the risk of being banned, i have to root for Celtics. Neighbors and friends will be happy. Kids wouldn't forgive me

It's personnel. Namely Luka. Ant and McDaniels couldn't slow down Luka or Kyrie the way they did Murray. Luka is just physical and Kyrie is just too shifty. That led to all sorts of defensive breakdowns that neutralized Gobert's impact. It also led to the Dallas centers getting ample lob opportunities. Styles make fights. Not to take anything away from Dallas, but I think Denver beats Dallas if they made it to the WCF.

even if i did watch the games, i'm not smart enough to figure out the breakdowns the way you can. thanks

that said, Kidd has done stuff before. i (rightly or wrongly) credit him with unlocking Giannis -- handling the ball so much etc.

Let’s go mavericks!

So that they can gloat about winning a chip thanks to offloading JB on us and screwing us out of a decent first rounder last year?

Between this and Porzi free riding towards a chip, I dunno which poison would taste worse.

Both teams die in a mid air collision?

I’m resigned to the Celtics winning because Bill Walton passed and that would seem to fit a story line- not that the league is conspiring, just the way History sometimes writes itself.

If Dallas wins, great story and kudos to Kyrie for keeping it together - I did not expect that.

Will be interesting to watch, not sure how much I will tune in.

Bill walton basically played one season with Celtics. 80 games, then 10 the next season.
shame he gets more from that chip in Boston then the one in Portland in 1977.
College and his first four seasons in NBA were incredible.
1977 Blazers were down 0-2 then swept Philly to win 4-2. That 765er team was stacked!
Game 6 he goes 8-15, 4-5 from the line for 20pts, 7 assists and 23 rebounds!!!!!
UCLA championship one year he went 21-22 finishing with 44 pts.
In Boston he was a role player.
He was not a "Celtic Great". He was an NBA great!!!!

I wish more teams would offload players like that on us.

Kyrie got his shit together off the court and its showing on the court.
Obvious they could have had JB for more than half the cost.
Kyrie proving to be a good teammate and on court performer.
Proof? They in the finals.
Good coaching, good healthy, Good therapist, and right combo of meds all working.

Read yesterday Knicks and Celtics were talking about a KP for Kyrie trade at the time. Kyrie would have had to resign with Knicks. This was Kyrie in a bad head space version.

KnickDanger @ 6/6/2024 8:00 PM
Is it next season yet?
VDesai @ 6/6/2024 9:03 PM
Porzingis is fucking dominating in the first Q on both ends
Clean @ 6/6/2024 9:41 PM
Mavs are in trouble. The Injury means KP does not have any wear and tear on his body. Early season KP is here for the FInals.
Clean @ 6/6/2024 10:13 PM
maybe I spoke too soon.
VDesai @ 6/7/2024 9:31 AM
KP alternating blocks and 3's during the first quarter was like an avalanche falling on the Mavs. Celtics established a huge lead and did a good job of playing close to even the rest of way without expending a lot of energy.

Im not sure this is gonna be that close of a series. I hope I'm wrong, but Mavs will need the Celts shooting sub 30% from 3 to win a game by the looks of things. Tatum going 6/16 from the field for under 20 pts and the Celtics still win by 18.

ToddTT @ 6/7/2024 7:18 PM
I'm not even sure what they're talking about, but I thought this was excellent coverage of the finals.

KnickDanger @ 6/9/2024 11:24 AM
Damn, a lot of space between finals games. If Knicks had made it I bet Randle would be ready for game 3.
Clean @ 6/9/2024 2:22 PM
I don't think I really care about the Finals. Have not thought about it at all after the first game.
markvmc @ 6/9/2024 8:12 PM
Same here. Stopped watching after The Knicks went out.
ToddTT @ 6/9/2024 8:24 PM
I'm pretty sure the finals ended a week or two ago. Dummies.
VDesai @ 6/9/2024 9:13 PM
I said Mavs would need the Celtics to shoot sub 30 pct from 3 to have a chance. Well they are 3/15 for 20 pct in thr first half, but Boston is still up by 3.

A healthy Bill Walton was easily one of the very greatest players in NBA history.

Tremendous leader, unselfish, tremendous defender/rebounder, elite timing on blocks, elite passer, elite outlet man (ball was gone almost before he hit the floor) and he could score the ball (not at an elite level but very good).

There was a time I felt he would be one of the very best EVER --- shame the feet kept blowing out on him.

franco12 @ 6/10/2024 11:03 AM
Maybe I am wrong, but not really impressed by either team. If the Knicks had made it healthy, easily could have won 4 games against either team
markvmc @ 6/10/2024 8:38 PM
Well, hopefully we get a chance to see next year.
