Carlisle said “we know we’re not going to get calls here” —- that’s no high road but I don’t care what they say.

Knicks need another +100 favorable whistles to make up for years of bullshit calls against us.

Also F McConnell

IDK I listened to the entire post game. He said he didn't want to talk about the calls or blame the outcome on the refs, said they didn't do enough to win the game, and they went into this not expecting to get calls at MSG. He didn't press on the officiating at all and focused on the game. I took that as "you don't go into a road playoff game expecting calls to go your way".

Ok - I caught the 1 part.

Me personally I could care less about all this other than we got a good whistle last night - YEA!!!

Some big moments in this game ...

1. Hartenstein hitting that half court buzzer 3 to cut the lead from 9 to 6 going into half time
2. Obi's between the legs the dunk at the end of the 3rd quarter. I don't know about you guys but I felt it was disrespectful. I think some of the players felt that way too.
3. Brunson getting fouled away from the ball down 8 in the 4th. He hits the FT and then Hart's dunk off the Mitch offensive rebound cutting the lead down to 4. All this happened in like 30 seconds.
4. Carlisle benching McConnell in the 4th. He was killing us all game!

I hope we’re not on the losing end of any calls like this one.

How do they review and uphold it?

Seems like marginal contact to me. Kind of like this was Marginal contact.

Obi thought the game was over as he delivered what he expected to be the dagger. For a playoff game, it was immature and disrespectful, another reason he isn't here anymore. His focus is on himself and not the team. Enjoy your highlight dunk and loss Obi.

iHart's 3 was huge stopping the bleeding going into the half. Pre-inbound fouls are a lack of focus and stupid. I think Carlisle thought McConnell's lack of size wasn't going to stop JB in the 4th. Even good coaches make bad choices. Haliburton laid an egg and that people assumed he was going to make a big play he missed all game after the Turner pick, in crunch time, is probably falsely assumptive. He was -12 impact Game 1. He probably chucks a 3, we rebound, and the same result, game over. From the angle the ref had and on TV at full speed, it looked like a kickball, the problem wasn't his call, it was the other refs not seeing anything to review it. Also, I hate that it's Indy ball if it was determined it was hit by a hand, as when the kickball is called, no one had possession. It should have been either reviewed or, if not, a jump ball.

Lastly, on the Turner illegal pick, people can but shouldn't complain about that, when a few plays before that, DDV is called for a foul on a more egregious flop from Indy player. They called both a foul, that is consistencies. Isn't that all players, coaches, and analysts keep asking for? But not when it doesn't support their biased agendas and/or NY hate.

This is how you create fanatics. My sons were not really big fans like us, but this year the way we are playing, my sons now have to watch every game. It's awesome!

Whatever, how many calls have gone against the Knicks? Its just something for the press to talk about.

Turner never for one second stopped moving. Never planted. Ever. I get they dont call it but I thought it was pretty obvious.

Absolutely. It was a foul. They reviewed it and by the letter of the rule, it was a foul. What the fuck? These talking heads are sensationalizing for content. That's why you fight for seeding so you can get some home cooking. Part of sports. Get over it.

Yea I didn't like Obi doing that, but really it shows his lack of maturity. You can dunk, we get it. He tried that exact same dunk the last time we played IND at MSG... and missed it.

To risk missing it there again in a close playoff game is just such a dumb play just to showboat.

Yeah. That was stupid. I really liked Obi before. That bodega video and this display knocked off some points for him for my POV.

Yea it was cringe doing that again after missing it last time.

If Obi was on our squad, we would have loved it
Panos @ 5/7/2024 2:35 PM
My big question is: if iHart can hit from 3/4 court, can't he hit an occasional 3pter?

Why does it look like when he gets the ball outside the key, shooting is not even an option? It would keep defenses honest

He used to shoot 3s occasionally with I think with Cleveland and clips.

Or Thibs would have sat him for being selfish to showboat and then DNP the rest of the season until traded. Oh wait, he did do that. In garbage time, sure, when he did it, clown move. I respect the dunk in Mitch's face, Obi's not so much, he should not have had that dunk, as Hart clearly fouled him but it wasn't called.

Or we'd be getting on his soft ass for getting the same amount of rebounds as Jalen Brunson

Jay Williams and Legler just going off on the refs about the Illegal Screen. What a bunch of crackheads.

You know, none of this would of been an issue if Turner had just gave a proper screen. This a basic thing. I understand everyone is trying to get an edge, but you can't complain if you get caught. I'm assuming he's been practicing screens since middle school.

nycericanguy wrote:Jhart trade is very underrated, getting him for a late 1st, in his prime... i mean its been a game changer and also made RJ expendable somewhat which allowed us to get OG.

Getting Jhart and DDV for peanuts really set up the next move.

Before that we got Brunson for peanuts,

now we got Deuce for peanuts.

This FO has done an amazing job at not just going in on high dollar players.

Some people look at homes from the outside first. Leon built this team from the inside out, starting with an old school coach and 90s culture mixed with nova culture is the foundation now. But it all starts with coach Thibs, then Randle fed in. Perfect time to integrate a hard nosed championship culture in the 3 nova boys. They are already Thibs type of players, mixed in with Thibs / Leons draft picks. Deuce as the golden child in training.

Everybody exceeded expectations (including Dolan 😜

I don't have to hate on a ex Knick to like this team

No hate, but you can still be unbiased. Obi is an A+ dunker who runs the floor and has a knack for find openings in half court defense. He also a soft rebounder who can't make an defensive rotation to save his life. He's as exciting on the court as he is frustrating. But, also, he's playing for the enemy and I have no room in my heart to pity a playoff opponent, ex-Knick or not.

VDesai @ 5/7/2024 5:38 PM
Lets talk about Haliburton. In the playoffs he is shooting 13 shots a game and 8.5 are 3s. The ratio is similarly nad since he came back from injury. This guy is compromised - he doesnt really want to drive or work mid range. Contrast to McConnell who killed us with his penetration. He made a few nice passes, but he played a very passive offensive game. Something to watch.
