Giddey is 21 and in a funny place as the team developed sort of with him, then around him. His body strength and type at this age is yet to be determined. His long range shooting has improved each year to 33% which is not awful, but not in that elite place in the upper 30's. Nobody here can pin what he will be. Caruso by contrast did not hit the league until 23 and did not avg more than 21 minute per until he left LA he was 27! Upside? Gordan Haywood. (Got to do comps of white guys to other white guys).
Remember, Jimmy Butler and many other players don't hit it until about 25. Might not be fair, but its a tough business!
Giddy. Caruso really does not play big minutes, which is perfect for OKC and their depth. My opinion is Caruso reputation is a bit bloated while Giddy's more undermined given his playoff reduction and some shooting issues he had this year. Both teams have many more moves they can make before we can fully see what they project to play.
Same for knicks, they are super quiet and so many possibilities its numbing to what might happen this offseason. Stands to say we might not like it until proven on the court. Seems to be fan thing. Find something to get angry about and be lead by the media.

I think DeRozan in Philly reuniting with Lowry and Nurse makes a lot of sense.
Clickbaiters can’t keep pushing Donovan Mitchell rumors so today it’s Knicks going for Paul George. I don’t even look at the imaginary details but I’m sure it strips the cupboard of picks plus Randle of course for an aging (yes gifted) cap eater. God I hope not.
is there an opportunity for us to S&T OG? I just worry about paying hims $40M for 5 years when he does seem to get injured a lot!
Like- could we S&T him to Cleveland for Spider?
Nothing new. But the wait is going excruciating.

Like I said upthread, I wouldn't say it's a lock that OG will be back. There are lots of possibilities

I'm not concerned. Knicks will sigh OG at 12:01am

The Knicks are probably working on a bunch of different scenarios in the meantime and have varying contract offers based on those scenarios. They probably want to complete the draft and see what deals shake out prior to OGs realistic contract. Hartensteins offer is very cut and dry but OG’s probably involves some different variations.
Seems like if the right move is there, Mitch may be a move candidate.

cant watch video now but I've said the 5th year could be a way for us to avoid a 4 year MAX with OG.
Instead of say 4/180, maybe we can offer 5/200. Keep the AAV a bit lower at the exchange of a 5th year and more total money.
Would have figured Scott Perry to land somewhere either as GM or President. not many of these jobs open up and can't speak for him as to if he even wants it. Scott a good man and was a key bridge from Mills to Leon. Knicks Exec suite a bit crowded and perhaps it was always going to be a short gig for him once Leon came aboard.

guy was a colossal failure and waste of time. had knox and both bridges play against each other and walked away with Knox.
the nba is hyper competitive. If this guy added to winning he'd be employed.

both of these guys are intriguing. Ware would be the end of Mitch -- who i love but the guy has to find a way to stay on the court

Mitch is a big dude. And he also doesn't shoot FT well and hasn't really up'ed his offensive awareness pretty much at all, especially when compared to the defensive end of thins.
At least 1 of those things has to change and Mitch is at least in full control of 2 of them.

Mitch is one of those guys that I would expect to see increased money stats in a different location. He does his job here. But there aren't many plays run to include him as a primary target, its only by circumstance that he either has an open path to the hoop or an offensive putback that he scores points. His defensive box outs reduce his overall rebounding numbers despite being near the top of the league in offensive rebounding. He lacks "money stats". He doesn't have stone hands when rebounding. Why would he have them when receiving a pass? Because he has no expectation of receiving the pass. I don't want to be a complete MitchBeast apologist, guy can't hit a free throw. That's on him. But I think he should be a 10pt 15 rebound guy anywhere he ends up. At least.
Freeman is my guy in the first round.

Now why would Knicks move one of the first to BKN? Outside of a Mikal deal what would be the benefit?
How about.
Bojan & Mitch to Wizards for Jordan Poole & #29. Jordan Poole #24, #25 & #38 for Mikal.

You might need to attach more firss to Poole for that to happen.
I hope Berman's family is checking on him. I'm not sure he's well.
Butler had boasted the Heat would’ve sent the Knicks home had Miami faced them in the playoffs. Ironically, the Knicks reportedly have an eye on the potential Butler Sweepstakes.
