Knicks · How SWEEP it is! (page 1)

NYStateOfMind @ 5/27/2024 10:44 PM
Halibitchin and his awesome Hicks got their comeuppance. Talk about choking, blew 3 games, 2 at home. No points in the final 3 1/2 minutes. Swept at home without KP playing. Can't wait for their excuses and complaints about the referees. TJ got b1tch-slapped, couldn't have ended any sweeter. Enjoy the humble pie, clowns & losers. Love it.
Nalod @ 5/27/2024 10:50 PM
To me it makes knicks look bad.
When a team defeats you the further they go the more valid our team was.
Did not watch a minute of this series.
Did watch 4th of Dallas/Minny game last night. Wow!!!
I could never celebrate any Boston Victory. I don't care who they play.
Im rooting for whom ever wins out west.
NYStateOfMind @ 5/27/2024 10:55 PM
I disagree, the Knicks were decimated. There is nothing they could have done to overcome their player losses. So, the Knicks looked great making the 2nd round and going 7 games. The Pacers got lucky in 2 rounds due to major injuries, their luck ran out in front of their fans. Healthier, the Knicks were headed for the same fate but would have at least won a game. Boston has the best starting line-up in basketball, their bench isn't great, but they rarely need it to be. Glad Minnesota is getting some pie, too. I'm also rooting for the West winner, even if it is the azzhat Mavs.

The only way the Knicks look bad for this season is if OG signs elsewhere. Otherwise, this was a very successful season for NY. Tweak and they'll be back deeper and stronger. Love my Knicks.

No sure what Nalod is talking about. Not sure how it could make us look bad. We were missing half our team. With all our injuries except OG and Hart the series is over in 5 or 6 and brunson never breaks his hand. OG was the straw that broke the Camels back and Hart was the final nail in the coffin.

Yes it most cases you want the team that beats you to perform well because it makes the Knicks look better. Given the Knicks injuries, everyone knows this was an exception. It’s too bad. Even a Knicks team without Randle but healthy otherwise gives Boston a good series.

HofstraBBall @ 5/28/2024 7:19 AM
Only thing that ever matters when you lose is that you lost and you need to figure out what you need to improve on so you don’t lose next time. For Knicks, it’s staying healthy first and foremost.

Btw, hope all the ones that think NBA chips are won by 5 guys, passing and running complicated sets on offense, watched how the Celts slowed game down and gave the ball to Tatum or Brown all game. Celts have guys that can ALL hit an open three at a high click around them and can play D. Including ones off the bench.

I see your point. Perhaps don't make us look bad.
Still will never root for Boston to win.
NBA got a "ECF" MVP thing? Getting a little free with them awards are they?

MS @ 5/28/2024 7:53 AM
Actually hurts even more.

We were limping and went 7, the Pacers should have won 3 of these games and they played two without Haliburton. So even the team we had in the first two games of the Pacers series would have likely pushed Boston.

Pacers are going to be a pain in the ass for a while.

Very different outcome if Sixers played the Celts instead. All about the breaks.

What hurts me the most is that either Cuban or Porzi will get a chip this year. Not supposed to happen in a fair and just basketball world.

I have nothing against passing it around but slowing it down can reduce turnovers and in the playoffs possessions are critical

Also check out their minutes. Jrue had 38 min. Everyone else 40+

it made me feel better than IND put up a fight against BOS, even if they got swept. Losing to a team that gets destroyed next round isn't a good sign for us, injuries or not.

VDesai @ 5/28/2024 8:59 AM
I think if we had the squad with a health Brunson, Hart, Anunoby (which is moot since all 3 of them had injuries) - this was a Boston team we possibly could have taken. The Porzingis matchup was really the problematic one for us. C'est la vie, it wasn't meant to be.

Pacers definitely blew their chances with the series. Given how well they executed everything in Game 6 and 7 of our series, its somewhat dissapointing that they didnt bring that level of play to Boston. Haliburton missed half the series and effectively fumbled away Game 1 with his turnovers.

KnickDanger @ 5/28/2024 9:56 AM
What if's are hard to avoid thinking about under the circumstances, but as they say it is what it is. Drawing dramatic conclusions seems pointless, though that is what we do. The hope is the injury gods are appeased and next year we kick everyone's butt. In the meantime f@%k the Pacers. And the Celtics. And the Mavs. And....

I don't think so. Indy loses 1 guy and gets annihilated. Knicks lost 5-6 and fought like hell.

Need we offer a sacrifice to appease the gods further?

I mean IND was leading in every game I think late... they had their chances but were just too inexperienced.

I'm not worried about Indy long-term. More concerned about a healthy Bucks or improved Sixers team, plus the Celtics.

It only shows Indy didn't belong past any healthy team in the 1st round and that the Knicks never had enough healthy talent to go all the way. If you are being honest with yourself, with or without Randle, the ECF was most likely the ceiling this year and the Finals were a long shot.
