This is an amazing video. Easy to understand and still with great detail. I know he was a good 3rd option but I was lacking the details since I don't watch the Nets or Suns as closely as the Knicks. Bro, when he got to the part talking about how Bridges and OG can compliment each other I got chills. Re-sign iHart and I am ready to role with this team for the next 5 years. Him saying Randle did not have many positive qualities is crazy though. I have my issues with Randle but the Randle hate has gone way too far. The treat him like he is a scrub. He is almost a lock All-NBA, All-star every season.

Rookie wrote:The narrative that the Knicks paid to much for Mikal because it doesn't make them better than Boston is total bullcrap. There are 29 teams that aren't better than Boston. 29! I think we match up against Boston now more than ever with the trade and re-signing OG.
Yet many analysts were saying that we would have beaten the Celtics if we were fully healthy in the playoffs.
Basketball and salary cap logic aside, the FO has given the Knicks fandom what it really wanted - a great story. Fans have fallen in love with the Nova core, they badly want more of that love, which makes Mikal an instant fan favorite and drives interest in the team to stratospheric levels. Not sure that even the arrival of Melo generated so much hype and hope. Huge success from a public relations perspective.
Personally, I want to see how this Nova experiment plays out so badly, that I do not care if the picks we have given up will ever turn into something useful. I want to see Nova here and now, even at the cost of mortgaging our future. We fans have been deprived for so long that we deserve some instant gratification now.
Even if we do not top Boston at the end of the day, the next two years promise to be highly entertaining, barring major injuries.
I am not even sure Boston is the scariest team going forward. Without a fountain of youth for Horford and a fountain of health for KP they are really strapped for decent big guys. Jrue may start aging. Yeah, the core of Tatum, Brown and White is no chopped liver, but not an invincible monster either. I am almost more scared of Minny, with Edwards now in full Wade-mode, the Bucks if they stay healthy and make a pinpoint addition to their bench, Philly if it gets Paul George. And Miami always seems to have a trick up its sleeve. Plus some younger team like Orlando may all of a sudden blossom and become very good.

Thanks Brooklyn for the full year of practice as a featured shot creator!
Randle put up 25-8-5 on 48%-37%-81% after the OG trade with Brunson, Donte, OG, Randle, IHart. Bridges is a more efficient, better defending, more proven scoring/finishing Donte.
The key to the success in Jan was the roles all being set in place with pieces that fit those roles perfectly. Mikal doesn't disrupt Randle's role since he isn't a guy who first and foremost thrives with the ball in his hands. Brunson & Randle will be the features and do their 2-man game. Guys like OG & Mikal wreck havoc off the ball with no play designs needed.
Everything is in place for Randle to simply just the let the game come to him.

Randle was really Doing a great job kicking out of doubles and seeing them earlier than anytime in his career as a knick. He with DDV, OG and JB he had shooters around him. If no double he ate them up. The ball movement was a thing of beauty!

Randle can co-exist with the Villanova guys. I don’t think it’s a must we salary dump Randle. The other thing is assuming Randle comes back 100% or close to it he gives us depth because OG will get injured
Nalod@ 6/29/2024 12:39 PM
I have not read any suggestion or mock that suggests Randle gets dumped to resign iHart. Philc, This is normally where a conversation ensues. You then site where you read the “Dump” concept or if its your fabrication, outline it for discussion.
Have seen it written about Deuce or Mitch traded out to clear space. Nothing about dumping Randle.

Good for you. Posters and people on the radio have only been talking about it nonstop since the bridges trade

You do have a way with people! Have not read this on the UK. Perhaps this is your shining moment to step up and enlighten but instead your lazy ass paints your post with arrogance and selfishness.
To others: Is anyone really talking about dumping Randle that has a sound logic take to it?
KnickDanger@ 6/29/2024 1:42 PM
Not looking to get in between any posters here, just chiming in...but when has dumping Randle had sound logic? It has always been (virtually) an emotional take masked in "logic." Thankfully the days of attaching first rounders for Westbrook or Wall are long gone, but there are a lot of clickbaiters and their followers using Randle and "salary dump" in the same sentence. I present this as anecdotal but I have seen it.
That said, I am not against any move that improves the team. But salary dumping a 3 time all star on a now cheap contract where you would be selling low coming back from his injury seems pretty f@%king dumb. Better be a damn good haul I say.

I've seen this type of thing proposed on schlock sites like "Heavy". As Brock plays 4D Chess, these click-bait sites and talk radio hosts attempting to lure in reactionary one dimensional thinking fans are playing checkers.

Only realistic guy I would think of moving Randle for is Jaren Jackson Jr. I don’t think Memphis can or would, but he has a decreasing contract, cost 5m less, has DPOY chops and has a down stats year much like Mikal where it’s clear he can’t be top dog but, but would fit the scheme like a glove.
Brunson Hart Bridges Anunoby JJJ is off the top of my head, but man you could run almost any lineup with Bridges, Anunoby and JJJ and could guard any top 3

I still can’t buy Julius 100% —— when playoffs are at their most pressurized. I feel like Julius and Mitch don’t fit with rest of team we’ve put together. Hopefully I’m wrong but have my doubts.

Reasonable. Every time I think of his triple doubles, I also recall him putting his head down and having the blind side steals. His effectiveness is inversely correlated to the number of times he dribbles.
Nalod@ 6/30/2024 10:25 AM
Triple doubles negated by a few bad head down steals?

Due to getting injured this playoffs which I don't know if your also including in the not buying into Julius. But none of the past rosters come close to the fit that this current team has.
RJ-Randle-Mitch frontcourt didn't fit due to each other's style of play. OG-Randle-IHart fit very well as shown in Jan. While granted it wasn't the playoffs. No previous Knicks team with Randle, RJ, Mitch had that stretch of dominance. Owning teams like Minny, Denver, Philly, Miami. Having games practically secured by the end of the 3rd quarter.
He's going from Grimes/IQ/RJ/Hart to Mikal/Donte/OG/Hart. OG can take the tougher defensive matchup off Randle and space the floor for him, RJ doesn't bring that to the table. Mikal is a 20ppg game threat while not losing defense or shooting, Grimes doesn't bring that to the table.
The PNR game of Brunson & Randle with the spacing and pieces around it isn't close to the same circumstances for Randle previously.
