Was All-Rookie first team, and the FO would be dealing with Ainge. So Im not hopeful on this one. What would Rose and co. be willing to offer that Ainge would want?

Matching salary and a FRP would be what it should take

From Bleacher Report..
The New York Knicks are "showing interest" in a potential trade for Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto.
Scotto also noted that the Knicks have inquired about the availability of Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards.
New York could be looking to bolster its frontcourt rotation after former starter Isaiah Hartenstein left in free agency to sign a three-year, $87 million contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
The Knicks still have Mitchell Robinson under contract, who recently started 58 regular-season games and 11 playoff contests during the 2022-23 season. Robinson's durability concerns may cause team president Leon Rose to consider other options, as he was limited to just 31 appearances last season due to ankle issues.
If New York is looking to prioritize rim protection with Hartenstein gone, Kessler is an enticing option. He's emerged as one of the association's top shot-blockers since he was drafted in 2022, averaging 2.4 rejections per game throughout his brief career.
Kessler is only 22 years old and still has two years left on his rookie contract, which could make it harder for the Knicks to acquire him. New York's future draft capital took a hit after the team traded five first-round picks for Mikal Bridges in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
Still, it appears that Kessler is obtainable for the right price. Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer reported on June 21 that "rival teams believe" Utah is willing to engage in trade talks involving the young center.
With Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby in the mix for the Knicks next season, they may be searching for a low-usage center that doesn't need the ball in their hands in order to impact the game. Kessler appears to be one potential option.

Maybe Mitch in a 3 team trade to a contender.

Solving our problem with backup C by trading our starting C?

Said in another thread that I would only want to see Mitch traded for a young player with a lot of upside. Kessler sounds like he fits the bill. Its about Mitch's availability.

We could offer that center we drafted and McBride. That is a solid offer.
TheMTL@ 7/2/2024 7:29 PM
He would fit perfectly as our part time starter
VDesai@ 7/2/2024 7:29 PM
As much as I hate this, I think you expand the Bridges trade and add Utah. Might need to lose Doose, but if Donte is off the bench as a 2, where are the mins when OG is healthy? Whereas Kessler is 25 to 30 every night. Might need to happen to balance the roster.
VDesai@ 7/2/2024 7:30 PM
And to add insult to injury we should sign that fat fuck Lowry to replace Deuce with the MLE.
TheMTL@ 7/2/2024 8:39 PM
I would love this move but what could the Knicks traded of value to the Jazz. They have such high asking prices for all their guys
VDesai@ 7/2/2024 8:40 PM
Jeremy Cohen from KFS is on this. Id hate giving up Deuce. Need to watch some Kessler D tape to see if its worth it.

Kessler has a soft touch around the rim, but can finish strong as well. Has a nice reverse layup. Moves well without the ball. Can stick with his assignment on a drive and stuff his shot. Only highlights but I like what I see. If his teammates are looking to feed him the ball, Kessler is capable of having some big games.
Clean@ 7/2/2024 9:07 PM
Ainge going to try and beat us over the head for him. I don't mind them looking into it but I doubt anything comes out of it until we severely overpay.
VDesai@ 7/2/2024 9:08 PM
Yeah I think Kessler looks like he has better hands than Mitch and finishes more cleanly. Mitch drives me crazy sometimes as he can get a lot of offensive boards, but cant make put backs and we are lucky to get 1 if he is fouled.
Kessler is the best shotblocker in the league not named Wemby. His instincts are superb.
Nalod@ 7/2/2024 10:28 PM
Ainge is a motherfucker who puts his players up and then says "Make me an offer I can't refuse or fuck off". So it seems he is impossible to fans.
What is Kessler worth? Lets be serious he knows knicks are calling for a reason and not on a "Fishing Expedition".
Is Kessler worth what Wiz got from Portland?:
The Washington Wizards are trading Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers for tonight's 14th pick, a future first, two future seconds and Malcolm Brogdon, a league source confirmed. The Wizards will get the second-most favorable of the Trail Blazers' 2029 first-round picks, as well as 2028 and 2030 second-rounders.
A bit pricey but these are quality players and draft pick wishes. They have demonstrate they are NBA players. The cost a bit and they are still cheap. You wince, you roll your eyes, take a shot of vodka, and do a deal with Ainge. He the devil? He. your jail cell roomate your don't say no to? No, he has inventory to sell.
