Knicks · Knicks are center hunting... KAT, Kessler, Sengun, who else? Randle could be, of course, at the center of all of this (page 6)

Doesn't he look to slow ? He looks like he is walking in mud up to his knees

His D looks like it could be an issue. Might be able to get away with it if he is a 3rd string backup. I can't see him working as a normal backup in a Thibs system. I do like what he brings on offense. We need a big that can shoot.

Knicks can just resign Achiuwa and make it until December. Then a new pool of centers and opportunity for trade open up. They can move Achiuwa plus a minimum contract for Valanciunas. Or Achiuwa, McBride and a minimum for Rob Williams. Add a little draft comp for either of those. The point is the Knicks front office is probably spinning their wheels on a deal now, but we know the players they are targeting. Kessler and Richards is about it. Starting Dec 15 we get a whole new crop of players eligible to trade and eligible to trade for.

Nothing would make me happier to see the Ukrainian young man flourish and be a great success story. If he can do it that would be a great story.

Brunson, Donte, Precious, Mitch before he was hurt, Deuce, IHart, Hart all had the best seasons of their careers.
Signing Payne has me worried that Deuce and Simms are going to be packaged with pick(s) for another center.
Don't want Towns. He'd be worse than Howard at his worst for the team.
He needs the ball more than Randle.
I like the ball in Brunson's hands.
Dwight Howard at his best is a beast as a rebounder, rim protector, screen setter and roller.
And it will only cost us a minimum salary on a 1 year deal.
Thinking about it from Howard's point of view, here's a chance to get a ring.
If I was him being out of the league and playing internationally on the other side of the world, I would do anything for this opportunity.

Every single GM since 2022 has thought that Dwight Howard is not worth it. Dwight is going to be 39 very soon.

What information on Dwight do you have that is better than every GM in the league?

Do you even realize he has been out of the league that long and is that old?

Howard has great Insta posts!!

We don’t have any high draft picks for Kessler or Sengun.

Here is this weeks Randle trade suggestion.

How about we just make Randle the backup center (as he will close out games there anyway) and call it a day.

Mitch + Deuce + re-signed Precious for ihart

Is anyone here familiar with Jay Huff? I read somewhere that he was G league defensive player of the year a season or two ago. I think he is currently playing on Orlando’s g-league team. My question is why is he not on any team’s roster right now? Based on that video he looks perfect for us as a backup. However, I know these highlight clips can often be deceiving, he can’t possibly be as good as he looks in these clips, can he? What is the deal with this guy? He should be on our radar based on these clips.

Great video. Would be interested to hear the rest of his story.

He can’t. I also mentioned draft comp. That’s the key for Washington.

We need extra fouls for the Embiids and Porzinghis of the world. Hope Leon has his magic 8 ball out.

I'd be surprised if Skap isnt on the roster to start the season. Moves well, isnt a lumbering center who had an easy time in SL. Its still just SL, but Skap's game looks like the flip side of the coin to Mitchs'.
martin @ 7/22/2024 9:24 AM
Skap Has been playing Westchester for 2 years now and wasn’t good enough to crack the big league rotation with Mitch down last year and I doubt he has suddenly changed his trajectory?

Has he ever dominated GLeague? iHart torched guys in the playoffs and that was before he was getting cut from every NBA he was apart of?

fishmike @ 7/22/2024 9:50 AM
we can start the year with Mitch/Sims and we'll good out of the gate.

I think the big guy we need to get is Steve Adams. He's perfect insurance for Mitch (assuming Adams is healthy) and if both are healthy a center rotation of Mitch/Adam in the post season is title contention quality.

Adams is in a walk year and he makes great sense to resign to a team friendly deal. Aside from the defense and rugged play he's one of the best screen setters in the league and would create even more space in an offense that features two super high gravity players and a bunch of elite shooters and slashers.

Patience now, maybe bring back Precious on a team friendly deal. He's a good small ball 5 for us, but I look at him as better version of Jericho (skill wise) and def not a 4.

Things change. I didnt watch Skap in G-league, but maybe he's elevated his game.

There is a really easy remedy for that lack of information by fans. The Knicks have watched that transformation happen every day for the past 2 years.

Because he has been on the team.

They have enough info to play Skap in SL. Doesnt look like they've given up on him.

Its SL, but he's playing like he deserves to get a closer look in camp vs. tougher competition.

Its a guess of course, (like most of what we write), but I think he's going to make the roster. We'll see if the FO still tries to find a seasoned vet as well. Looks like he can contribute more than Sims. Unless Sims comes back with some new wrinkles in his game.

I saw Skap play one game in Greensboro at Hornets Gleague team. He was a large human. Can't say he impressed but did not look bad either. Robey started and he could not hit a shot. He playing pro in Germany now.
Jake toppin dropped 32 pts that night and was all over it. WE all know there is a gap between the leagues so there is that.
Toppin was popping from the outside and owned the rim when he went.
So Skap looked good in Gleague which is also suspect.

We'll see how he gets to camp and if there is a path but I'd say at best guess he is 3rd string to start. Root for all our guys to succeed!
