Dayum! Strange days have found us….

Oops forgot the “OT.”

Rookie @ 7/21/2024 4:25 PM
Biden who?
SupremeCommander @ 7/21/2024 5:39 PM
Thank God
JesseDark @ 7/21/2024 6:13 PM
Kamala is in and she should get Pete Buttegege to be her vice president. He always mops the floor with whoever he debates against.
ESOMKnicks @ 7/22/2024 6:55 AM
A logical move. Biden has not been looking good on the alertness front.

Now, don't get me wrong: I believe Biden has so much experience that he could have run the country in his sleep. But "could have" does not mean "should have". And appearances matter. Nobody would let someone displaying signs of mental aging similar to Biden's operate heavy machinery or perhaps even an normal auto vehicle. So, it is understandable if people have concerns about him "operating" a whole country.

The problem is that this move may be coming too late. That Biden's age would be a problem was known a long time ago, and Democratic Party leadership whiffed on this issue by sticking with him for so long, robbing Harris of a good 6 months for building up her public image, recognition and credentials.

I, for one, do know much about her except that as a California prosecutor she went hard after marijuana cases. A really crappy credential for someone supporting the liberal cause. Despite her turnaround on the matter, I am still wondering if it is genuine or just lip service. Can she establish other credentials by November? Let's see.

Agree.

The Democratic Party should have seen that Bidens age would be an issue. Has been my view that they should have let the poor guy gracefully announce his retirement last year. Would have given them a chance to have a proper primary to determine who democrats would support. Also prep candidates, including Harris for debates and to defend shortcomings. I still blame the party for not seeing how Hillary had so much baggage, which blew up in their faces and allowed the MAGA movement and Trump to invade the White House.

However, Think that the right VP choice will make a huge difference and can catapult them to victory. That and a good performance by Harrison a debate

Nalod @ 7/22/2024 8:09 AM
Harris should mop the floor with him if Trump would debate.
He'll only do it if he is down.
Biden won the primaries and nobody went after him. Lets be real, Trump's Georgia trial should have been over and the real teeth of his convictions and civil losses need be exposed later in a campaign when its fresh. Trump core don't care about his morality and felonies. This is a fight for the middle and she needs to pick up like 7mm votes. The Muslim black vote in Michigan is one of many key's.
Trump is a very flawed human and candidate. The boost the convention and his near death gives him a nice edge for now. Joe had to go but even sleepy his numbers were not awful. The Dem's I hope know what they are doing and using Bloombergs tech quietly to dial it in as to who she runs with and fight back! She can come off as strong.

Is the country ready for a female president? A black one at that? The MAGA we know won't be swayed. Any women who is cool with pussy grabs won't be swayed either. Conservatives might think a bit on rule of law, Trumps lack of morality, the lies, the incoherent ability to not understand law, diplomacy, and economic policy. The "Im a good businessman" really does not fly with this who are. HIs bankruptcy, loan issues, and tax/bank fraud is pretty telling.

Voting for trump is a vote of anger to the status quo, a vote for defiance, and a vote to "shake it up". Its like saying "We need a new coach or a star player but no understanding of the price paid to get one or have a better coach lined up. Just being angry at the situation. Mad at inflation? Price of Gas? looking to blame immigrants on your problems? Want your women kept at home and in check? Then Trump and Vance are you guys!

The VP has been the #2 in our county for 4 years. She has previously been a presidential candidate. Candidly, if you are interested in knowing this person, there have been plenty of time and opportunity. Her positions won’t match Biden’s exactly but I don’t think there should be a major divergence outside of now being able to teach a younger audience on top of what has already been there?

The voting world over typically have elections that introduce candidates in half the time Americans have their introductory period. It is 5 months til the election?

Please check Kamala’s debate history and the way she interacted previously.

fishmike @ 7/22/2024 9:24 AM
like him or not Biden was actually a public servant and did his job. You know... unlike the orange grifting daughter lusting rapist convicted felon guy with the patriotic bone spurs who told you maybe injecting bleach could help with covid.
Moonangie @ 7/22/2024 9:47 AM
Tragedy narrowly averted...phew!

Not for nothing, but isn't this a bit of good fortune in disguise for the Democrats? It's a far cry from Joe-jitsu but you possibly couldn't have it better from Kamala's standpoint.

As an incumbant, Joe breezed through primaries, Kamala won't have to slug through that.

The previous money, strategy, VP pick, RNC focus was all on Joe, ie. none on Kamala and now the Republicans and everyone else's $ behind those efforts have to be rethought and re-spent.

She and the Democrats just got a bounce that could carry them if they play the VP selection correctly.

Everything the RNC just ran on the Dems can point right back at them.

Kamala will cut him up in a debate.

martin @ 7/22/2024 10:09 AM
Joe better be sitting around figuring out the best use of Presidential Immunity and the 5+ months of presidential life or whatever life he got left and unleash the real Kracken.

Kamala better bring the fire. The world gonna need it.

also the biggest thing GOP had going for them was Biden's age and cognitive decline (despite the obviously same thing happening w/ orangeblobman)

Dont phuck up the VP pick and they got this

If it were only so clear cut what's not phucking it up. Should the VP candidate come from the more progressive or the more centrist side of the party?

Feel like we will learn a lot about Kamala's place in history very quickly. It'll be very interesting IMHO

I lean more progressive, but a centrist with a military background. Sen. Mark Kelly from AZ comes to mind.

I guess you get Dem Gov from a blue wall state like Shapiro or Cooper.
They love Shapiro Pennsylvania and thats an important state!
Cooper has done two terms in NC and out anyway. NC is a red state but vote blue for GOV and he has done a good job with GOP state senate. Very good business state and healthy. Keeps the bat shit crazy out.

Trump endorsed GOP bat shit crazy Mark Robinson for Gov saying he was better than Martin Luther King. Unreal statement even from Trump.

As you alluded to before, Trump could eat small children for dinner, and his electorate would not be swayed. You kinda cant help but admire and fear this strongman type. And lament people's tendency to completely fall for it time and again throughout history. Power is seductive not only to those who hold it, but also, and especially, to those who obey it.

Kamala should announce that Jack Smith will eventually be her AG pick when he is done with the rest of his work.

That'll fire up the troops.

I read this somewhere and it's perfect. Moderate white guy who's well liked from a battleground state. I am NOT looking for the best person for the job. IDGAF about that. All I care about is winning and seeing project 2025 and the orange blog vanish to obscurity. That is literally all that matters. WIN
