Knicks · 9 man rotation... looking pretty good (page 1)

fishmike @ 7/31/2024 2:30 PM
The obvious:
Brunson/Bridges/OG/Jules/Mitch
bench: McBride/DD/Josh/Precious
fringe rotation/emergency: Sims, Payne, Kolek, Diop

I love how we look. I think Precious could be this year's IHart. I suspect he gets a lot of minutes. He's rugged and a grinder. He can take it to the rack and some offensive skills. He's going to be left alone a ton and I think these find him.

Overall though I just love the combo of Brunson/Randle surrounded by elite shooters and top shelf defensive guys. Gonna be a fun year

1000%

This is the group that will elevate over last year...which was already hella fun!

I think we go as far as Randle takes us. If he falls in line and be Robin to Brunson then we go all the way. I think he will.

- Julius Randle extension eligible Aug 3rd

I think you have to wait and see how he comes back from the shoulder injury. This could put Randle in a shit mood cuz he moody

Its wild.. guy's a 3x all star in 4 years and Knick fans still cling to those 20 minutes he was grumpy.

Jules is gonna be Jules and that's just fine

Nalod @ 7/31/2024 4:14 PM
Torn Labrum is not an ACL. My goodness, Nets signed Durant after the tore his Achilles and he came all the way back.
These Labrum is not nearly as serious as those leg injuries.
Nobody worried about Brunsons surgery are we?
If you worried about Jules, you should be worried about JB and Mitch.
OG hammy? They can linger.
But Jules mood? He had one bad stretch and its like a chronic personality disorder?

lol, the dude breaks up with CAA in season for some side chick agency (William morris) only to get back with CAA in May 2024 and all you got is 20 minutes of mood swings? I distinctly remember the game where it looked like Brunson finally got tired of Randle’s act because it was affecting winning. From that game on it looked like they became friendly and Randle got his shit together. There must have been some come to Jesus after that game. The dude is screwy as a bag of squirrels

Your insight on his thinking is quite impressive.
Last I checked NBA basketball is a clash of warriors physically killing each other each night.
Guys aren’t out there holding hands and picking daisies.
Randle is a warrior, gave Knicks a friendly deal, has always produced and wants to win in NY and you worried bout the faces he makes in the heat of battle?
Still crazy to me how some fans are still caught up on being worried if he will be a “team guy” despite so many of his teammates, not forum fans, saying he is. Despite how he played having real players around him.
Nah, let’s focus on how he held the ball despite having greats like Elfrid Payton, Franky, Kevin Knox, Dotson, Kadeem Allen, Ignas Bradzeikis, Zo Trier etc etc. All top level talent killing it with other teams today!

GustavBahler @ 7/31/2024 6:13 PM
Looks about right. I’m curious as to if or when Kolek will move up in the rotation this season. From how well he plays, not from an injury to another player.

I hope Kolek, Hucktooey and Pacome all play every G league game they can. Sorry still working on the names but "those guys"

The entire roster looks great. It’s obvious but it just comes down to health. This is the nicest looking Knicks team I’ve seen in my adult life. They have top end talent, youth, chemistry etc.

Curious to see if Thibs goes to a 10 man rotation for the first time in……………

Really think Kolek can make it so easy for that second unit.
But, as we know, the biggest question, with Thibs, will be Koleks defense.

Has anyone ever asked one of them AI drawing apps to show a picture interpretation of the saying "screwey as a bag of squirrels"? I'm sure you'll get some ineresting results.

At this moment, there's not a single albatross contract on the books. Not something you can often say (if at all) about the Knicks teams of the past 25 years. Let's hope OG stays healthy and keeps it so.

The only one we had from the previous regime was Noah's, and that contract was from the regime before that.

They stretched out the payments for more cap flexibility I guess, instead of one lump sum.

shinmen @ 8/1/2024 5:28 AM
Who will play the 15mn when Randle sits in this 9 man rotation? OG could but we really need to keep him fresh and limit his minutes. I'm not a fan of Josh Hart maning the 4 position. He's a beast but he's too small. Diop could potentially be the one but his stats are not encouraging.
When Randle sits for a few games, we're really thin at the PF position.

The last couple of years it was EF eating $18m doing nothing on the bench. Before Noah it was Stat. Before him someone else going all the way back to McDyess
