Knicks · Mitch Bomb from Begley (page 3)

Knicks are in great shape. We will start the year hitting the ground running.

Opening day SL: Brunson/DD/Mikal/OG/Precious, Bench: McBride/Josh/Sims and whoever has a great camp. My guess is Keita Bates-Diop

Then very soon Randle will get worked in. That will move DD to the bench and likely kill the minutes of whoever that 9th guy was above.

Then Mitch will come back do Mitch type things. That will be good. IDK if Thibs starts him or sticks w/ Precious who I think is going to look great with that group.

I do think our end of game "death" line up is
PG Brunson
SG DD/Josh
F Mikal
F Randle
C OG
the DD/Josh is dealers choice for Thibs.

Players I wanna see OG matched up on at C late in games:
Tingus Pingus
Myles Turner
Embiid
BroPez
Carter

pretty much every 5 in the east. Jarret Allen is a great example of someone you sick Mitch on. Gobble gobble

There’s a very simple potential solution that no one in the media has mentioned since this news broke; go back to Methias Lessort and get a deal done. The Knicks have the taxpayers MLE to give him and they can take care of the buyout stuff off the books. Since they were already negotiating with him earlier this summer I have to think he’s still got an NBA out. The money and the potential playing time are both there. He’s a 28 year old physical big who has proven himself in euro league. He’s got to be at least a halfway decent player to help for the season.

That Stewart contract is brutal. 4 years at 15M, yikes, hard pass

He’s only 23 so if a team thinks he’s a capable starter than it’s a fair contract.

Compare Stewart with Achiuwa on a biometric and a statline basis. I don't see any real basis for making a trade. Maybe people see something I don't.

Wasn't a video circulation around earlier this summer of Mitch playing and shooting a step back and some other stuff?
martin @ 9/24/2024 12:49 PM
Didn't even realize he was out long term too.

ramtour420 @ 9/24/2024 12:49 PM
Teams defensive scheme is a 2 part thing. First you need to get to past the point of attack defenders and then your center cleans it up. Previously on the Knicks we had little in the first department but we made up for it in spades with Mitch/Imoney. When we had both parts in place in January you saw the results. Now we have the first part of the equation down pat with OG/Bridges, similar to what the Bulls had with Jordan/Pippen. So to make it work we need rebounding up the gazoo ( think Rodman) and then our center could be Luke Longley. Hart gives us most of that, but we need more. So a rebounding center is in order. The blocks can take a hit.
Yes it's harder for point of attack defenders to be effective in the NBA today, but I think this formula is legit still. So get a rebounder at the 5 and we can roll until Mitch comes back and we can melt some faces

KP is out til December and I did not realize this.

Boston has 6'9 Al Horford who is in incredible shape for a 38yo. After Al, Celtics have Luke Kornet, Skap, and I don't know who Neemias Queta is. Their next biggest player is 6'8 Xavier Tillman and Tatum.

Knicks are down to Precious, Sims, Marcus Morris at C.

2 best teams in east gonna play lots and lots of small ball and it'll be a good comparison?

Man how could we know this and let Skapintsev sign with the Celtics

Classic Trojan horse tactic here. Just wait until he accidentally falls on KP, you'll almost be able hear the bitcoins drop into Skap's bank account

Conspiracy theory? So Robinson and Randle both have these cryptic posts. I am sticking with Robinson, Randle and Achiuwa for KAT. Robinson probably to NOP and Achiuwa likely to WAS.

Brunson
Hart/DDV
Bridges
OG
KAT

Depending on how you value KAT and his health, its an interesting lineup to run up against Boston and Philly.

You know the expression double wrap?

It’s gonna be double bubble wrap with a cherry on top until the trade deadline.

The truth is iHart was a huge loss for us, and Precious may save our season. And then we’ll lose Precious next season.

Mitch can’t be counted on for more than a handful of games per season. Anything more is a bonus. We’ll be extremely lucky if he doesn’t cost us Deuce and more.

I think that video has been around for years. There was a thread discussing it where most guys are training with NBA caliber competition and he is beating on high schoolers
