The thing about Durant is with his unique and rangy body type he doesn’t really need to be overly sudden or quick to score. He has that pull up jumper move that’s basically impossible to block or guard and with his wingspan he can shoot over just about anyone who isn’t 7 foot defensive center.
I like Tatum and hope he comes back and has success. I hate all Boston teams but I’ve always liked Tatum. Halliburton is a cocky douche but I don’t want him to go the D-Rose route.
Masai and Thibs should unite!

More like Leon should watch his back. Masai is a Dolan favorite.
Wow!!! What happened???
Lets not forget he has them a chip but the rebuild is a bit fragmented and the return from OG and Siakim not apparent?
Quickly at 162mill a bit painful now?
They now want to trade hometown RJ not going over well? Not saying he loved like Luka was, but.......
Massai also has made a lot of money and has some deep philanthropic goals and perhaps there is "distraction" to his core duties as a very well paid exec?
This a "punitive" decision(s) for something he has done or about going forward a deficit in his leadership?
Maybe its a simple is he banging one of the partners wives or employee and that shit don't fly anymore! Can't just "get in the truck" anymore. Or Like Isiah actually get an extension on the contract while legal proceedings going where there is an 11mil lawsuit at state.
Times have changed.
Likely it's a mutual departure with nothing scandelous. curious to see if he stays in the NBA or becomes an exec for one of them really high dollar euro soccer teams?

ed rogers is a maga owner. trump guy. he was part ownership years ago with larry tanebaum.
years ago when masai re-signed and became vice chairman, he got a big contract. ed rogers told masai to his face that he didnt think he was worth the money. this was less than a year after winning the title.
tannenbaum was a huge supporter of masai.
ownership changed hands last year to ed rogers and masai's contract ends after next season.
the writing was on the wall that he was not going to last past this deal.
this is not basketball related at all.
great exec. top tier. now we see what's next.

DJSU! Hello my old friend!!!!! One of two Posters I ever met in person! Back from the North to visit.
Thank you for that contribution.
Funny thing, Rogers for sure is right now. He has to pay Massai when he is out and for sure is not worth his contract!! LOL
While many teams have upped their game spending on FO talent this guy takes it down a notch. Toronto succeeded because they upped their game. Massai as I indicated might be growing to beyond as he has very ambitious philanthropy goals. Good for him and perhaps he feels the pull to do more outside the game.
I'll read up on Rogers communications and this split later this weekend. Rodgers is Canadian as is the company. curious about his politics. This Ed Rodgers III, who took over in 2021 and I guess has majority powers over Tannenbaum who still is a part of the group? Link any articles you think is worthy of looking at. Stay well my friend!!!! You're always welcome back on the bandwagon here in my book.
Rogers is the "Maple Maga"?
nalod!
yes, tannebaum sold his ownership stake to rogers and ed rogers is the guy now. he's a mini trump. he's a nepo trust fund baby that inherited everything (much like dolan).
a ton of raptors fans are upset about this. while it's sports and nothing important, it got to me. i have been compartmentalizing my anger and just plain disappointment about this all day.
i'm an immigrant so to see a guy come from nothing and make a forgotten franchise into the pillar that it is, not only as a sports organization, but as an organization in any field period, makes me proud. he fostered growth and diversity within the company. he made a focus on all nationalities and sexes and gave them a platform. not to mention how much he gives back to africa with his giants of africa basketball program. the guy literally saves lives.
fans will scrutinize stuff - you can sit there and break down each move and try to find fault with it. it's part of the game. i get it. but the truth is that the team was the 2nd best record wise in the nba under his tenure (to golden state) until the last 2.5 years. he got a team in canada a title - which may as well be mars to american players. and just because the last 2.5 years hasn't been great, it's time to let him go? the team is turning around and could contend for a playoff spot as soon as this year.
since masai has been gm, the raptors and spurs have 1 title. the spurs have basically won 30 games the last 6 years but buford and pop will be there forever. tannenbaum saw what masai was capable of but once he left, it was done. this cuts alot of raptors fans much deeper than just win/loss.
just wanted to give some insight to what alot of people are feeling today.
here's a good article about it

File this under the good to know department
Naz Reid got a nice 5/125 from the Wolves.
My guess is Randle opts in to his contract at this point. The only team that can pay him Brooklyn - I think he might as well stay in Minnesota, try to win again and see what happens next offseason.
And if he accepted an extension like that with NY, we probably don't make the trade?

Probably!
Timberwolves fans are happy. It’s a good deal for the Wolves.

Great value! Either Julius wanted out of NY or he misread the market he was heading towards (or both).
That’s shame.
$45M for DDV and Julius and a draft pick vs $53M for KAT and that contract is only getting worse. Still think we missed on this one. Really hurts our depth on a go forward basis and Probaly take us out of an impact player.

Leon panicked last summer, I think that's clear now. If we waited 1 more year to start making deals we would have had so many more possibilities for the roster and the assets to lure them away. Instead we paid Utah Jazz prices to add Bridges with our remaining picks.
