Grimes has bounced around the league.
Questionable if Martin is better than Grimes. But I think Grimes is a FA this summer and Martin is signed for three more years at what would, presumably, be a lower salary. Anyone starting to see a theme?
Grimes for Martin, GOAT for GOAT.
Weird deal. Grimes was playing awesome for Dallas. Similar players. Caleb bigger, Grimes better shooter. Useful wings.

Contract extension. I thought Grimes had wanted in the range of $20M with the Knicks. It's a lot for him until the consistency kicks in.
They gotta extend Kyrie who will have all the leverage.
Grimes is restricted this summer and could not come to agreement with Dallas on an amount.
I suppose Philly needs him with McClain out but will they extend him? Parity at its best. Grimes was playing really well and now he bets on himself.
Has Philly given up on its season? Im reading rumors about Paul George getting moved.
I doubt embiid is tradable, but if PHilC is correct somehow he becomes a laker and is healed.
On a small scale, Kyle Lowrey ready to be bought out? We need a 4th NovaKnick?
Not sure Grimes gets 20mil, but a great opportunity for team to pick him up at a reasonable price perhaps and if he can keep ascending becomes a win-win. THis is how teams can rebuild quickly. Lock up too much money and your stuck.

So the thing that's confusing to me is this. Its not like they didn't know Grimes was extension eligible when they acquired him int he offseason. And Grimes has actually outplayed expectations and and started developing in the way we expected after his 2nd season again. And now they decided they don't want him.
Did the acquire him with the expectation that he'd suck and they wouldn't extend him?
All the weird stuff in Dallas makes me think the Dallas owners are cash strapped or looking at this enterprise under some money driven lens and not actual team building. They were in the NBA finals last year and had a top 3 superstar - now they are concerned about the first apron?
Interesting that the Grizzlies have won 9/10 and their one loss was getting absolutely manhandled by us.

I'm not even sure Martin is better than Andrew.
Middleton for Kuzma. WTF are Bucks doing?

Its also the ability to be flexible.
What you or I don' know is Grimes and Dallas could not come to an extension figure. He has played up but with Thompson and Dinwiddie they don't want to pay for Grimes who is playing well, but half a season is not that convincing. We don't know what he wants.
Thus, cannot fully indict Dallas can we? It not like they disposed of Luka's salary. Davis is on a very big deal himself.
Not like Cuban himself has made errors in his tenure either.
Despite that, he did get a chip eventually.
All teams make mistakes. What we don't know is the full extent of what Dallas is scared of? We don't know everything.
But time will tell.
League got what it wanted, we are talking about it and will follow both teams a bit as its of interest to fans.
I know Im the asshole who tries to look at both sides and be all logical. Thats my fandom. My choice.

Yeah at least Andrew knows enough to stay hidden. That Martin guy is always here flouting his bad takes, knowing there's nothing we can do about it.

This is bad move for Milwaukee. They having trouble defending wings and they bring in Kuzma? I know Khris had declined, but he'd still be a better defender than Kuz even if he had an amputated leg. Trade screams desperation. Nevermind Saw Kuz's contract declines and this gets them under the second apron. Makes more sense. But man, Kuzma has been bad.
So when is Durant getting traded to the lakers?
A sports example of the haves and have nots. Why the hell does OKC need even more draft assets. 🤣We're getting to the point where the 1% are going to end up with 99% of the draft wealth in the NBA.

FROM SHAMS:The New Orleans Pelicans are trading center Daniel Theis and draft compensation to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources tell ESPN.

Good question. My guess:
When a power company using a hydro electric to generate power has surplus they pump water back up to the dam and will retrieve some back when it falls thru. Its not a one to one return, and thus inefficient but its does not go to waste.
At some point Giannis will or another star will have a nice few yeas left one a deal and Milwaukee who will make a trade to rebuild. Then the picks get redistributed back into circulation. Its just a concept but you get the gist.
The picks are currency as are some yoots.
Presti and co. have a good schematic. Take the Paul George thing. They traded for him, paid him, then had good fodder for a trade. They could use picks and yoot for a "star" again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Not that simple, but you get it.
Lots of trading action without us involved.
Valanciunas to be traded to the Kings.
