Knicks · Around the NBA 2024-25, let's do this!! (page 50)

Good to see Lonzo Ball back on the court and a nice extension that he his happy in Chi-town.
I do root for Lamelo some because I'd like to adopt Hornets as my second team given my proximity to them.
Been doing this for a few decades now.
Prefer they trade him out as his iso game might not mature well. Kid relies on his quickness but injuries are becoming a big issue.

As for Lavar, the self promotion and perhaps trying to make good TV was never a good look as wife Tina had a stoke and he on record as being a bit of a dick about things. https://sports.yahoo.com/lavar-ball-thin...

I have called him "Bad dad" a few years back given his selfish self promotion. Yes, he did put two of his boys into the NBA. The "big baller brand" was doomed by his arrogance.

Lavar recently had his right foot amputated. He is a relatively young man and I do feel bad. He often cited "gods plan" many times. I suppose the failed Sneaker company was also gods plan. Some really bad quotes about his wife's stroke.(See link).
I suppose he'll cite "gods plan" for his current medical issues.

He has been very quiet for a few years now. Maybe it was gods plan as he was constantly putting his foot in his mouth.

Horrible news about Wemby. DVT is a serious condition if left untreated, so glad it was caught. Devastating news for fans of the league. Guy continues to amaze and was in line to be in the top 2-3 DPOY.

Brandon Ingram had this in his upper extremities and he made a full recovery. I think it was 2019 when he was with lakers?
Bosh had it in his leg and it went to his lung. It was seen as too risky for him to come back. He had to spend a long period of time on a medication.
I no Dr. but fully expect little about this to be made public unless there are bigger issues for him. Not sure what meds he will be on and for how long so one can't fully understand how this affects him.
Is this an issue due to their long lean mass? Is this an issue due to the extreme amount of air travel long distances? Combination of both? Its rare occurrence.

These unicorns are proving to be delicate. Embiid, KP, Chet and now him. Hope this won't derail his career.

The clickbait thrives

Nalod @ 2/21/2025 1:45 PM

Only trump can take good thing and muck it up with embellishments. His delivery spoken like an ill prepared 3rd grader with a superiority complex.

"People Love Cowboy Bryant".........

When Biden misspoke folks went insane. Time to hold him accountable for his cognitive deficiencies.
Im not understanding the difference between a superior talent/athlete vs an hero who faced discrimination and was persecuted for breaking barriers? How many will these gardens be? Is it just black Americans? "Hundreds"?
Since we cutting all kinds of programs and firing people, whose going to pay for the artwork? The land? Is it private donations? Is this throwing a bone to minorities given the take back of DEI? Affirmative action? Marine bases named after confederate war heroes?

Marcus smart was mentioned on these pages for some time prior to this year as a good replacement for IQ.
His salary would have been difficult to fit but his health really has not been there and his exile from Memphis indicative.
He has another year after this making Josh Hart money.
I respect his moxy on the court but glad we passed.

Why are the tanking Bucks giving Middleton and Smart minutes? Doesn't make sense to me! I'd love to have both on our bench which I know cannot happen cause of that stupid apron shit. Hope the league modifies this CBA cause it's way too strict and it already cost us Hartenstein. Shouldn't the objective be to allow teams to keep their own players while at the same time allowing free agents to sign with contenders? You make the argument forcing bad teams like the Wizards to have vets like those 2 is taking away 2 roster spots and opportunities for 2 G league players.

Get trade value up and give the young guys some real vets with playoff pedigree to work with. Still losing anyway.

That had nothing to do with the current CBA. You can blame Hart's agent for being prescient or the Knicks FO for effing up and not signing iHart for three years instead of two.

I believe Bucks pick gets sent out this year.
they are 31-24 sitting 5th in the east.
Middleton and Smart play for the Wizards.

I think you meant the wiz, then understand Smart has another year on his contract after this year so they not waiving him. If he plays well perhaps its a trade value thing this summer. Middleton has a player option for 34mil he can opt into. Maybe ht parlays that into a longer term deal for less per? I thought that is what Butler was doing but he got same money for 3 years.

Thus, waiving either is not in either the players or teams best interests.

As for the silly apron stuff, its to prevent teams with high payrolls, and likely they are the better teams from picking up talent for and running away with things. Say Smart and Middleton were waived hypothetically. You want Middleton off the bench in Boston? Or Smart making an emotional return? Other teams could vie for them too! Some players might just be happy to ride it out and not play defense. That does not fly with Thibs. For a player waived and wants to prove to get a new contract has a very short window to prove themselves. You get in Thibs doghouse or defensive schemes mess with your head (its a thing I believe)then its not a good look going forward.

Wizards have one just 9 games this year. Remember the bottom 4 teams all have the same lottery odds. With about 26 games to go they'd have to make a hell of run to make up some serious ground. Smart and Middleton will have "injuries" and not play in all games either. I think their lead to the bottom is safe.

Flat out if Giannis wants out they can either deal with a team that has cap space and shit ton of picks which won't get him on a contender and the Bucks then go into suck mode until they can draft for make deals.

No team that is contending wants to gut itself for him. Makes no sense. BKN puts him in a big market and can afford picks/yoot but Giannis is still in a rebuild. Lakers could have space if Lebron retires (Kind of sounds like it?) and pair him with Luka then figure the rest out but they don't have much to trade with either with picks or players. Team like OKC can put a hell of a package together with Chet, another prospect, and picks. Rockets have nice yoot and picks to make a deal and compete.

Knicks are "Favored" via the odds to land him "IF" he wants out. How does that happen? On the surface you can do an even swap for KAT. Image you parlay Randle, DDV (both were free agents and provided us thrills and chills), the pick we sent Minny, for Giannis? I love KAT, but Giannis might be the needed move to make the jump.

That would be cold move on Leons part. Uncle Leon was his agent. Thibs and KAT kind of had a mixed past and a new mutual respect thing going on. Kat is having his best season in the biggest arena living out his child hood dream. Its a nice story. Be hard for this fan to fathom that.

We have no idea Giannis even wants out. Its good starphuck click bait!

Are we fans stuck that we have seen our peek with our starting 5? My opinion is championship teams need more than one season to gel.

"Lakers suck"......

Funny, look at the standings and at 34-21 they sit 4th seed in the west with rockets right behind,
Between all the injuries and the circus that is Bronny, and now the big trade JJ Reddick is doing a pretty good job!

Jah missed about 20 games thus far and avgs below his norm but there is Memphis at the second seed! Its why they might look to trade him before he gets unbalanced again? Be funny if they traded him strait up for Lamelo?

From an interest stand point to see Trae Young on a better team? I know what y'all thinking, put him on the 76ers and then cut the brake lines on the team bus? All he villains on one team?
Nalodian prediction? Portland trades Scoot and picks for Trae young. Scoot is a bit of a crack head needs more time. Has a bit of that Grimes thing were he spazz's out thinking to much too fast. They are working with him to slow the game down. He has to tune out the "Might be a bust" take that is swirling about. This is why building thru the draft can be hard! Blazers are kind of getting to the point they need to do something and that roster is not all that bad. I don' know if Billups has many years left until they get impatient. I have not read anything about this but thinking of where ATL is and Portland are at.
Maybe add Blazers to the list for Giannis that can do a big trade? Ayton, Scoot, plus picks, swaps, and what ever they want. Bucks need to walk away without being too shitty. They have a chip and a nice arena. They ok. Keep Doc around a year or so until he loses his mind. Again.

Great, Thibs never gonna sub out the starters in the second half now

iHart is an important player. Probably the Knicks biggest loss.

Cleveland mollywhopped Orlando on their homecourt. Orlando announcers sounded as dejected as we were after Cleveland did the same to us.
