They guy takes a few plays off like most allstars do and we jump his shit like crazy.
How does a guy get two all nba awards and not try hard?

I think what he is doing in Minny is more what he is. He's not gonna keep up the 62% from 3. And he did benefit from box outs in NY on rebounding. His 5/3 ast/to rate is on par with his career.

His shot chart in Minny is what I hoped it would be here. Small sample set though. It should get a little worse as that 3 point regresses.

Would love to see the Knicks vs Twolves in the finals.

Well you see, Devan, it’s because we don’t respect him.

ToddTT @ 11/2/2024 6:22 AM
I feel just awful for Joel.

Philly FO not done a good job via public relations getting it out there. Philly and its media are brutal to its major stars who get paid and underwhelm. Add Charles Barkeley sarcasm and its a formula. Remember Charles played in Philly also.
Racist overtones could exist.
Embiid attitude does not help. He has overcome injury many times and works hard. HE is perennial MVP talent that gets blasted for not trying hard enough or being in shape. When he is and dominates with MVP and could have had more if not hurt, he gets blasted for his injuries.
He earned my respect playing on one leg and Bells Palsy with that eye and drooling and nearly beat knicks.
Its never good enough.
Im not laughing or pointing fingers at their preservation theme this year until the end. Win a chip and the city of brotherly love will adore him.
Pistons came to town the other night and they were booing Tobias Harris. Why?
martin @ 11/2/2024 7:47 PM
What is going on?

martin @ 11/2/2024 9:50 PM
Not good

martin @ 11/2/2024 10:05 PM
OK, punch-shove

Our boy RJ has been tearing it up. Glad to see him coming into his own. Gradey Dick has also been tearing it up as well. Dick is exploding on these cats heads.

Hard to tell from highlight but things have slowed down for him even more.

Looks confident without the chest pumping

Embiid got a lot of heat for not always being in top condition and guys like Barkley and Shaq on him for not living up to the talent.
Embiid has admitted as such and did go all in to win MVP and play at that level.
But he keeps breaking.
In typical NBA style he makes statements that he wants to leave a legacy in the name of his brother, who in 2014 died in a car accident and he has named his son after that brother. Its well intended.
Embiid does play thru injuries and plays hurt.
He signed a big extension and comes to camp out of shape? Was this part of a plan to delay his start and subsequent reduce his injury odds?
Vet writer references his lack of condition and throws statements from the past about "Legacy", which was a cheap shot but, to be fair, Embiid puts that stuff out there and it has to hurt when it comes back. Its hard to not be human and react to it.
Why is FO not preparing for this onslaught of criticism? Media sets the tone for fans and they start booing him he might want out.
With that contract? Not going to be easy. Blame? Circumstance. Embiid, Philly FO, and reporter all not handling this well.

NBA players love to say what people want to hear. Dwight Howard wanted to change the world with his play and christian beliefs. Nothing wrong with it until the career starts to go sideways and your making babies out of wedlock with multiple women. Setting himself up for that.
On the other side, Barkley says he is no role model and should not be held to that standard. I respected that in the context it was meant for.

The Writer bringing up Embiids brother and son was not cool, but Embiid put it out there and not owning it.

I think this is the article context, I have not read article itself, so there may be more context.
