He is a genuinely good defender, with quick feet & lateral movement, and very good awareness.
The fact that he'll be able to watch Hart, Bridges, and OG, all three being grade A defenders, means he will get even better.
I'll knock on wood, but he looks like he has the ability to be a pretty good starter down the line, and at least a two position defender.

I think they are. They moved on him like they expect him to be equivalent to a high pick next year. Many didn’t know about him, but the few who did were raving about his potential and we are just getting a glimpse of it.
This is really exciting!
This pick especially is what the Knicks FO brought in Walt Perrin. To find that diamond in the rough who may not be ready day 1 but who fits their archetype picture of what type of player who would really shine in the Knicks system. Plug & Play but not as a generic plug but one that has high ceiling in that role, and Pacome does that exactly, bit of a risk type player but this is the kind of bet you want to place because you have all the right tools and time to cultivate him.
The dividends seem to be flowing in the right direction already.
His IQ seems very very high, he and Kolek both. And when high IQ players player together for years and year, watch out.
