I don't feel qualified to start a topic, but we're down to the wire so someone has to do it!!
If not for Philly's improvement i would have said 60 wins, but Boston will be nearly the same, Philly will be better, and someone else may surprise, e.g., Orlando?
So I'm hanging both cheeks out with 57
Based on our uncertain injury woes I see us losing some games we should win at the start of the season. I see 53-29 and second place in the east.
I say 50 wins again but much better equipped for the playoffs.
Just me, but I don't think we're better than with iHart, Randle and DDV. So I say 54 win total, because of all the injuries last year and hoping that doesn't recur. But you never know.
West coast opines on east coast teams
I want to be positive… and the below is entirely objective
I wasn’t impressed with what I saw in the preseason. Chemistry is a real thing, and last year’s team had it.
IHart was a special player. We couldn’t have re-signed him, but we’re going to miss his rebounding, screens, playmaking, and selflessness.
Bridges looks rough right now—this shooting issue isn’t minor. I loved the move, but DDV had something unique. He shined here, and I don’t care what Brock or anyone else says—he hasn’t peaked yet and had another level to reach. He got in guys’ faces, talked trash, and embodied what it means to be a Knick.
Right now, we look clunky—like the Raptors with Barnes, OG, and Siakam. The pieces don’t fit, especially with Bridges, Hart, and OG. We didn’t need a soft big launching 3s, and I’m worried that when he commits silly fouls and the pressure mounts, he won’t handle it well.
Our depth is gone. Even though I love what the front office did with all three picks, I’m concerned about Thibs. He overplays his guys—there’s no debate there. What happens when OG misses 25-30 games and Towns does the same?
We’ve lost a lot of grit and toughness, and we don’t have assets to get it back. The rookies will come along eventually, but we’re asking a lot from Brunson. He’s always up for the challenge, but there’s a lot of uncertainty ahead.
53 wins. Concerned about OG durability and overall depth.
52 wins. We never win some games we should and it is a long season and we’ve got some guys that can go down.
Heck, reading some of the responses here- maybe the Thibs Grind it out style catches up and we lose more than last year, take a step back.
But I see upside- talent will find a way. Can we put together a January stretch of dominence?
47 wins. Our style has changed. We used to grind teams down with bully ball, block parties and momentum breaking offensive rebounding. Our hardcore intense approach used to scare teams. Now we are a soft, finesse 3 point threat team, but that's the State of the NBA. This team is better equipped to win but it's going to take time to jel. Our assists will go up. That's how you win. Our D with be fine with Mikal+ OG. KAT is an underrated defender I think.
I like our chances in the playoffs tho. We will give the Celtics fits. Now the ass-hanging time: "We are going to Sizzler!" By that I mean we are going to the Finals! You heard it here first!
56 wins if we stay healthy. Mesh our new three point finesse offense. And how guys shoot the three.
41 if injuries mount up and we have multiple guys shooting under 35% from 3.
Key will be what we are heading into the playoffs. Bridges level of play. If he is as good as everyone thinks he is. OGs health. KATs health and play at the 5. Who and how the PF plays?

Its funny.. 3 years of "trade Randle" followed by "why did we sign Donte when we have Grimes" and now this... I think this is wildly overblown.
17-15 when OG trade happened.
33-18 after winning almost every game in Jan
35-25 after losing Jules and we start winning in March again
50-32 to finish a strong March/April
Most of the winning last year came in 2 clips... 16-3 after the OG trade and 15-7 to finish the year.
We finished 18 games over .500 and were +13 and +8 during 2 key stretches. Knicks were super hot for a 1/3 of the season and very average the other 2/3
The team we finished with was NOT the best squad we had. That was in Jan.
You guys are talking about chemistry but this is likely the first time we actually have a team we are likely to finish with.
I'll go 52. I think it takes a year to really figure things out with KAT. Really liked last year's roster and thought given a whole season, could be pushing 60 wins with how they played with OG.
Can definitely see the vision with the Brunson/KAT two man game. Going to be a big year for Deuce - need that scoring punch off the bench. If OG or Mikal emerge as offensive weapons, this team will be a real threat.
I'm going with 55 wins, GUARANTEE ECF and a great chance at the Finals and Championship IF OG and Mitch are healthy.
I predict that at one point in the season we see a starting lineup of iHuk, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Deuce and Kolek.
Copied from my "Prediction thread". "Hang your ass" is the proper title!! LOL
Knicks win 55 games. Finish 3rd in east.
Boston
Philly
knicks
Indy
Clev
Orlando
MIl
Detroit
Fuck Miami.
Chicago
Toronto
Charlotte
WIz
BLN
Why? Fuck if I know!
Detroit is the surprise team this year. That pick we gave will convey. Get over it, we going to finals!!!
Why pick Philly? Respect, not admiration.
Milwaukee? Maybe after nicks Indy, Clev, Mil, and Orlando are coin flips.
Out West?
PHX
Min
Sac
OKC
Mem
Hou
Dal
LAL
Nola
LAC
SAS
GS
Den
Utah
Portland
Wha??? PHX puts it together. Not saying they win a chip. This is regular season.
I don't care what happens there but this is all about all teams being healthy and PHX has a strong starphuch core.
But not all teams are going to be healthy.
We'll see!!! have a good season guys.

I like it better when we're underdogs and overachieving. With all of the roster turnover, we're really back to square one in the continuity department. I like our odds if we make it to the playoffs. I'd be happy with the 4-5-6 seed. I'm going to have to go 47 wins even though I think our ceiling could be 57 wins.

ESPN (notorious Knick haters) have us 3rd in the league as well as Vegas. The talent is real. It's a top shelf coaching staff with a proven HC and has the trust of his star players. This is by far the most established group of players and most complete roster Thibs has had to start a season. Pretty wild IMO

ESPN on the Knicks:
Shams - Knicks are actively working the marketplace right now. They have to add bodies in the next 2 weeks
Shannon Sharp - They already looking around? Y'all just left the grocery store and you're calling door dash to get something else? Y'all in trouble.
