And this includes a couple of missed bunnies in the game
I like this guy's thinking
Knicks have 76 points at half.
The team is started to gel together. Understanding how to play off of one another. The paint is always open. Guys getting to the basket at ease. The first time in 5 years we’re playing 5on5 on both sides of the ball.Timeline: “BRING BACK MITCH”
For what?
“Rim protection”
So let’s slow down the pace of the game?
Bring in a 39% ft shooter?
Worry about him getting hurt again and again and again?
Precious is 5x more valuable than Mitch in my eyes.
Precious gives you the versatility to defend multiple positions.
Once the he’s back and we secure a solid 8 man rotation, the minute distribution and scattering of lineups will be MUCH better.
Stop relying on Mitch to be our savior when in reality he gets hurt EVERY SINGLE SEASON.
I’m on championship mode man, the Knicks have enough talent to sit there and worry if Mitch is going to be able to come back and produce.
Fans expect a 7ft center with no action in 6 months to be in shape and ready to be impactful in a daily basis? I’m good man.
To each their own.

Great way to start this road trip! I didn't think we'd jell this quickly offensively but we are playing at an elite level. 44 points in the 1st quarter, 138 total on 58% shooting, 19/39 from three and 30 assists! You can't play better!
Credit to the entire team for playing team ball but extra credit to Thibs and his staff and of course Brunson. Who just owns this team! 36 points, 10 assists, 7 threes. He's in the zone!
KAT was also a monster. Loved those tough post up baskets where he just bullied his way inside. Hart was also great! He's shooting with confidence and that transition hoop where he almost lost the ball but spinned and did like an up and under was nice. OG and Brideges were great too.
Bench was good too. Payne providing a spark offensively and Sims with some nice rebounds.
Not much else to say! The defense still needs a lot of work but our offense is clicking right now and Brunson and KAT are playing at an elite level and the supporting cast is doing their job. Thibs is so good!

at $2M per, we can wait a few years for him to develop that shot. He has been doing so well.
He has played way better defensively since Hukporti almost ousted him from the rotation. My biggest issue with him was being out of position defensively or just sitting in space where there's no one to guard. He also still occasionally forgets to box out.
He seems to have inherited Mitch's stone hands. He gets an offensive rebound and can't go back up - usually gets stripped or blocked. If he couldn't jump out of the gym he'd have no offense.
That said what has really been value add the last several games is his movement skills and verticality. This was something that iHart was super strong at - being able to help on the perimeter and still recover and protect the rim - and then being a deterrent at the rim that doesn't foul and causes missed shots. iHart for example, never put up huge shot blocked numbers, but probably caused more missed shots at the rim than anyone in the league. We have seen flashes of that from Jericho in these last 3 games.
Players take time to develop, but do you guys realize Sims is the same age as Hartenstein and Robinson??? All born in 1998.

With the ball movement and spacing, the opportunity for Mitch in the dunkers spot to be make more of an impact seems to be there, but I definitely get what he's saying. I'm not ready to crown Jericho after 3 decent games, but If he can keep this up for another week or two I'd feel more comfortable with the depth when Precious gets back and Sims/Hukporti behind him.
This is very early in the season and i'm pretty sure the team will improve with time and our injured coming back but the defense is not looking very good. I'd like to see a win against a strong team (phoenix without Durant is like NY without Brunson). The offense looks good yes but against good teams, will they be able to do the same thing?
We're 19th in opponents 3pts %. If we could become a top 5 or even top 10. This would be a sight to behold.

There is no ref bias against the Knicks, they say…
Dont care who we're beating. We needed to stack a few wins and get some continuity going on offense and its finally happening. Its a long season, this is the time to do exactly what we are doing.

Now I read elsewhere that Deuce is likely for Utah, Precious is possible for Utah.

At least as of late he's looked more controlled/decisive in his mid/perimeter shooting - knocking them down at a nice clip.
Outside of the in-close, mid and long range I think he's shooting ~85% from FT line.
Basically he just looks more under control and as you noted he's still missing a few bunnies and adding a few bad passes BUT his rebound (9) & assist (6) #s are both career high averages right now. His PPG are also close or at career high --- all this is pretty interesting considering he's probably 5th option in starting unit.

On ESPN broadcast they mentioned McBride very close, Precious still a week or two away and Mitch long term -- no idea if that means Dec, Jan or Feb for Mitch
Mentioned in my other post -- loved Sims minutes last few games. There was some stat floating around that he has lowest FG% against on shots at the rim in the entire league (lowest by a good margin), but on top of that I loved 2 hard screens he set past 2 games that sent a message to guys riding Brunson up the court.
Sims may not even know this (I think he does) but if he knocked guys down like that every night Thibs might never take him out.
Everyone slams Sims, but his at the rim defense is apparently good- it’s probably hard for casual fans to spot maybe? And he takes up space which can help with setting picks and screens to free up the skill players.
Love it and if he keeps setting those early in backcourt you basically have Jalen starting downhill on a center playing 4 on 4.
Fizdale who is an assistant with the suns looks like Captain Spaulding. Coaches like him too.
It told a lot. A few weeks ago, they lost these types of games against teams they were supposed to beat. Now, they are starting to gel and beating those teams. They are a work in progress, the offense is only improving, defense is lacking, especially on the perimeter. However, getting Mitch/Precious/Deuce back with Payne, is a nice 9-deep rotation.
You play who they schedule and the Knicks are getting it done. Utah next, we get to see what KAT will do against the only Center playing better in Denver, Doncic might miss our match-up, which leaves only the Magic & Wolves up thru Dec 19th. Most are winnable games over those 10 games and the next 7 games are very favorable, until OKC on Jan 3rd. I would not be surprised of a 13-4 or 12-5, or at worse an 11-6 run. Even at 11-6, that puts the team at 20-12 a 63% win rate, better than last year's 61%, expected wins of 52 wins.
Barring injuries, I think they do better than worst-case scenarios. They lost to the Cavs by 6 early on and have improved since then, they blew 2 games after that, but are on a better track. Realists should see positive progression, I do.

Don't let these wins against bad and injured team fool you. We have proved nothing yet. When we start beating the Celtics, Cavs, Warriors or the Thunder of the world then we can start feeling better. Not trying to be a downer but you have to look at the competition.
Brooklyn - Bad
Brooklyn - Bad
Wiz - Bad
Suns - Injured
This is why fans go on a rollercoaster ride during the season. They looks at win streaks and ignore the context of the win streak.
Pretty sure that is the prime example of a downer. “Not trying to offense, but you are broke, stupid and ugly.”
I would call it being a realist. It is just the way I am wired. I don't just look at the result. I look at why the result is the result and how can the information I gather from that apply to other situations in the future. Seeing that we beat all bad or injured teams told me nothing on how we would do on a 4 game streak vs actual good teams.
The concern isn't his D or salary, but his impact on winning. Other than the last 1 1/2 games, he has regressed on the offensive end from seasons past, often looking lost when they pass it to him. Some, like myself, prefer the more balanced game of Huk and his dawg energy. But, if Sims can play like he has recently, I have no major concerns with either playing. LGK.

KAT looking great and blending better with JB.
JB finding how to fit others and get his.
Hart is team MVP when it comes to doing all the little things. Not to mention scoring the rock.
Bridges growing on me but still seems we paid a lot.
Excited to see how we look when we get Deuce, Precious and of course MR back.
Yo! Do not forget about the sisters and the strippers who think this is ultimateknicksporn.com now that KAT and Brunson gellin like magellan!!
I actually went to check if there was a site ultimateknicksporn.com
Sadly there isn't....

What's completely amazing and will blow your mind is that 2 out of the 10 dates on that list were added this week on the 20th and on the 18th. Meaning we are changing the trajectory of the team in a very drastic manner. One week = 2 top 10 offensive performances ever

Oh and one more thing. Thibs coached 6 of 10 games on the list.

No breastmilk Hart? No JB/Azalea sex tape? Why do you think he smells his fingers on 3s? If those aren't on the site, why even bother then?

Remember that time we went 5/5 on a 14 point run in 2:37 seconds and only gave up 3 points. Good times.
