Shamet is gonna be a problem! He comes in ready to play and knocks down his shots. He should have got some run earlier in the 2nd half.

Hard to argue with that results and the rythm the team is in, they are playing great.

But, compounding these minutes will catch up to us. Three guys averaging 37 minutes a night, perfect night not to play Bridges 44 minutes and Hart 38. Give Previous and McBride the extra 5 minutes every night you’re not going to lose much.

Shamet, looked good, that’s going to be huge getting him back in the rotation.

Good win on the road. Magic are tough even undermanned. Mosley does a great job to maximizing his personnel and he's one of my fav young coaches in the league.

Started off slow but finished strong. I really like how we've made in-game adjustments to how teams are playing and defending us. It's important to be able to adjust and find ways to win when teams just change the way we have to play. We only took took 15 threes and made only 4 which is insane! But instead of forcing the issue and taking bad threes we took the ball inside, shot 60% and got to the line 34 times. Missed 10 FTs so that's gotta improve. Outrebounded them by 11 (12 offensive), forced 17 turnovers with 10 steals. And old school NBA game!

Hats off to Josh Hart. His motor in a game in December after Christmas is something to be admired. This guy just doesn't take games off. 23 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals and just dominated and changed the game. We got down like 18-6 to start and Hart sparked the comeback. That And1 in transition I thought was when the game changed. And another monster game by our mini Olajuwon. I can never get tired watching Brunson's footwork in the paint.

Shout to Shamet! Played well in his real debut. You can tell Thibs likes him so the rotation is now going to extend to 9 which is great. Got two back to back games against Wizards which we should win.

I rarely go after Thibs for minute management but man this guy is just a bit crazy (over the top).

- Payne has been playing great - gets in for about 5 mins in 1st half and doesn't return until about 1 min left in game
- Mikal out there very late in game +42 minutes and we are up +23

If Rick Brunson wasn't able to walk up to Thibs and tell him time to yank guys I wonder if we'd ever sub.

Love Thibs - just wish he'd give bench more run (especially) when games far out of reach.

Not to mention back to back in another city tonight.

I'm a Shamet guy -- hope like hell he gets a chance and shines. Love his form/shot and his movement. If nothing else defense has to guard (respect) him at the 3 point line.

Again again again. But without Franz, Mo, and Banchero

Going to the game with my son tonight. Was hoping it’d be a competitive game. Orlando only has one guy who can score so it’s looking like a blowout if we show up.

tied at half time - enough competitive game?

Yeah Knicks never really put their foot on the gas. You just kind of knew that they would slowly pull away in the second half like good teams do. It was like they were pacing themselves. Magic fans didn’t even realize the game had slipped away from them. It was beautiful

If the Knicks were pacing themselves, they didn’t make their move until Suggs went out with the 5 fouls. They are tough and relentless and had a fantastic approach, especially given how they played the night before.

I know our record is good, but there are teams like Orlando that either has our number or is just a bad match up.

we beat the Magic 3x this year. We held them to 31 pts in the 2nd half and won by 20+

Like what games are you watching?

Maybe it’s already happening because in this game the bench played more minutes, but Thibs really needs to balance his rotation a bit more. Precious, Shamet and Payne make a difference. It’s weird that Sims has simply disappeared because he was holding his own decently, but the bench needs to be given more rope. They need to be part of the full system in case anything happens and one has to take a more important role.

Thibs is super freakin old school right? Pick your poison I guess.

Jericho made too many costly TO's, and it was exactly at the same time Precious came back to play. My guess is that his job is to not do stupid stuff, and when you are getting your chance and do stupid things, you sit. We call that the Cam Reddish move.

Thibs emphasizes TO's, Jericho gonna listen and learn or get traded.

We could see Knicks jerseys in the stands everywhere but we had Magic fans all around us. Best part was when Kat got hit in the mouth

Lady next to me - He’s faking
Me - must be fake blood
Lady - he bit his own lip on purpose

Fans were very salty about the refs whistle. Not very often the Knicks get the calls. By the end of the game chatting with the couple. They were nice but their faces were bright red and their heads looked like they could explode.

Going down the escalators the stadium was filled with let’s go Knicks chants. We own that place 😁

I thought this was odd as well but also thought they were trying to run Deuce as the PG at end of game with (near) starters and no Brunson. He was the offensive initiator.

Speaking of Cam Reddish, thank you for Josh Hart. Probably the best thing did as a Knick

When Thibs took Brunson out in the 4th I saw him tell Brunson - good game. Was sure at that point he wasn’t going back in. We got a b2b tonight. Towns I guess was insurance at the end of the game so Magic wouldn’t go on a run unanswered

Again - not a minutes police guy but I would not mind hearing that Knicks Brunson (maybe even OG) are out tonight for whatever reason.

Brunson's minutes are the lowest they've been in his tenure here, not to mention they are much easier minutes without him having to carry the load.

Mikal's mpg and Harts are the only two that are really up there. Would love to see both get an easy game.

but we also play at a slow pace, lots of factors other than just MPG. Everyone will ignore that we've been the healthiest team in the NBA.

NYStateOfMind @ 12/28/2024 2:40 PM
Yes, he had 3 rebounds going into the 4th, they seemed to keep him in to get Angel Reese rebounds. Made no sense to still have him in, risk injury for stats. Someone else mentioned more bench minutes, that was due to foul trouble moreso than a Thibs adjustment.

I was at the game and was wondering the same thing. The only reason I came up with was try to keep his double double streak alive.

NYStateOfMind @ 12/28/2024 2:49 PM
Being at the game and watching all season, I'd disagree, even if less minutes as they are hounding him for 94'. I've been thinking for weeks, just pass to someone, tonight it was usually Hart, and the defense retreats. Every team is doing the same on JB. Pass it, then get it back over half court, problem solved. Suggs was being an azz in the 4th, being reckless on JB, even with the game out of reach. I wanted JB to foul him out so bad. Very nice win.

SEIs occurred in 15.6% of players in this study, with an overall rate of 1.74 SEIs per 1,000 GEs. The most significant risk factor associated with injury was minutes per game. SEI was more likely to occur in the third and fourth quartiles of the NBA season than in the first or second quartile. I watched the first half where we were tied, and Orlando was basically fielding a scrappy team of nobodies. And the other games we played were similarly close.

Did we hold them to 31 points, or did they simply run out of energy after playing over their heads in the first half? And was it Suggs going out with 5 fouls that helped deflate them?

I mean, do you honestly think we win if they are fully healthy?
