Disgusting. Should never happen.
I don’t know, man…
Not if it is true, and it was a factor, but the bench discrepancies lost this game. The Knicks have earned the same calls at MSG and they don't get them. JB gets bumped multiple times on some possessions, but no foul. SGA initiates minimal contact if any, fouls are called. But the Knicks bench or lack thereof, lost this game and Mitch isn't going to change that if he ever comes back.

Blaming the refs is weak. They made the clutch shots; we didn't.

This is the biggest issue with Thibs - he's not going to use the bench unless he really believes in someone. Makes me believe we need to pool assets to get 1 more LEGIT player that Thibs will run out there.
Don't care if it costs us 2 or 3 bench dudes because ultimately Thibs isn't going to play them - find someone he is going to play meaningful minutes.
OG got blocked on that fast break dunk and then we couldnt get any momentum back
Just one of OKC's spare wing bench players would go a long way for us. Mitch would've made a difference too, to be fair.

Knicks 3 pt shooting has been atrocious for 2 weeks. We need to make some 3s to beat the big teams
Mikal (AGAIN) 41 minutes, 19 shots and 0 FTs.
He doesn't like contact on O or D.
He did play great offensively and decently on D.
Sucks because that was a game we should have imposed our will on them down the stretch -- too many lazy/sloppy plays and decisions. OG gets swatted at rim it seems 50% of his attempts.

We needed to have Josh or someone else initiate the offense. They took us out of our game.
Yep. And they gotta figure out how to get KAT more involved. Only 13 shots, the least of the starters along with OG
Knicks need to maybe play Payne with Brunson when they are trapping him 30 feet out like that. Knicks never got into their offense in the 4th. Not one time
This game is all on Thibs,
OKC ran the same play 6 TIMES with zero adjustments and KAT was completely ignored while mainly guarded by Williams.

is it worn down by their depth or lack of use of ours? With how much the starters play the later the game goes the more fatigued they will be vs teams that do rest their players.
Lil bit of both....all of out starters played over 40 mins...none of OKC starters touched 40...if we want a fighting chance to beat the elite teams, we have to use our depth or get guys in here that the coach will trust...
I honestly wonder if Thibs will ever be that kind of a coach. I mean, there is talent in the bench, but you negate some simply because they are young and make mistakes (like veterans don’t sometimes?) and then the other part you just use for 10mins or so?
Nah, this is too shortsighted. At this point the bench should be on a rhythm and it’s impossible playing so little.

I'd say Wiggins kicking our butts down the stretch was a much bigger factor plus three consecutive turnovers when the game was in the balance was pretty important, too. Refs or no refs, this game was there for us to win.

Exactly. They get no time so when he is forced to play them they play bad since they are out of rhythm. It is a never ending cycle. Kolek is the second best playmaker on the team. Cam has shown he is not a good playmaker vs tough defenses. We know Kolek will be glued to the bench no matter how much we need his skillset. Hukporti has been a positive every time he played. Then he sits for a month plus. I like Thibs but he has some major issues.

Ok, not going to argue. I said it was a factor, among others. On to the next game. Wish we would use our bench more. Our guys will be gassed tomorrow. We need to trust the depth and preserve our players
If we used our bench enough for them to get a rhythm and they still consistantly were bad I would have no problem saying our bench is bad. However, I do have a problem with people saying our bench is bad when the bench barely plays. We have no idea what they are.
Said the same exact thing to my brother. You could see where their plays were going most of the 4th and predict the results. We wasted the clock, forced shots late, then had no one usually in the paint. Went away from Mikal, not enough shots for KAT, but he got 2 BS fouls that made him back off at times. We need an efficient scorer off the bench and a rim defender, too many easy lay-ups and floaters. KAT can't seem to get those blocks and JB can't be the main defender on SGA. Thibs didn't make smart adjustments when needed. This was a winnable game for 3 quarters, to lose by this much is disappointing. I'm not impressed with OKC's starting line-up outside of SGA & Williams, but they have depth. On the road, this should be a loss, but it was winnable. Take it out on the Bulls tomorrow.

Mikal Totally disappeared in the second half. When Brunson is struggling, he needs to step up and put his stamp on it. He was hot the first half, should have kept it going the second.

We agree. What was ironic was the OKC announcers (who are "mid" at best) couldn't stop chirping about (1) how many uncalled fouls we were committing (2) how many uncalled travels Brunson had and (3) how the Knicks expect a foul to be called on every play when we're on offense. I also thought the refereeing strongly favored OKC but when you play like crap with the game on the line and let some scrub light you up, you have nobody to blame but yourself. Peace.
