Something is definitely missing on this squad - so much for the PJ Tucker effect on playing hard/tough/smart.
Hart is top 5 in minutes, he routinely out rebounds players who are much taller than he is. Getting close to breaking a record set by Clyde. If anyone has a right to say they’re gassed, it’s Josh Hart.
I didn't think anyone is saying Kolek would change the outcome. Instead, most of our offensive talent are setup guys, not killers. They were out of sync all night long, took horrible shots late in the shot clock. Tyler should have got some meaningful rub, especially when they were down almost 30. Instead guys who often play too many minutes, grind to get back into the game before leg's give out and shots stop falling. We were never winning this game after it got over 15-20 pts. Kolek could have gained some experience. He needs to be our pain off the bench for other teams, like TJ on the Pacers.
Lastly, what if JB doesn't return? We have no back up plan and Cam isn't the answer. Shamet never gets on a heater like every team we play gets from their bench. Our record isn't because of bad teams played. It is because offensive and defensive talent has overcome mediocre coaching. Team that run, bang, and load up from 3 kill us or make it hard because we have terrible schemes. We lack that 3rd scorer that is a killer and didn't do much to change that at the deadline. Mitch has looked better than I expected, so maybe not moving him was smart. But a Deni type would be nice when JB returns or not.
We are a 2nd tier team, which isn't bad, with this talent, a slight improvement, but a disappointment overall for the season. Let's go Knicks.

Where was that guy who was saying is Thibs a good coach now because he beat the Heat? The Heat who just lost 9 games in a row. Keep that same energy. I am not on the fire Thibs train unless he fails to try any adjustments and we continue to be this bad the rest of the season. I don't care what our overall record is. Like I was saying months ago when people did not agree with me because we were on a 9 game winning streak. Our record been pumped up on bad teams the whole season. Any team good or bad with a smart defensive strat gives us hell. No matter if we have Brunson or not. Any team that can hit the open shots Thibs will give them gives us hell no matter how good or bad they are.
When a key player is out, other guys need to step up.
OG shot 6-15
Deuce shot 4-14
Bridges 5-13
Knicks shot 29%
Our PF scored 2 points.
But it was Thibs?
More concerned about highly counted on pieces inconsistency throughout the year. tbh.
Our team has a problem that it's filled with a bunch of players that need to be setup and only 2 players able to do the setting up. Brunson is out and Kolek is getting no time so we are going to stuggle to score. This is why I been calling for Kolek to get time when we was in the soft part of the sched. He could have been more than ready to help now. Instead we kept starters in up 30 and now he has no time under his belt when we need him most. That is also only on the offense. The overplay the paint and leave shooters open for 3 defense Thibs been playing for years no longer works. I been pointing this out since the Hawk playoff series.
I like Kolek. Feel he will be a valuable roster player.
However, we also know how fans can overstate potential moves that could have changed the outcome of a game as well as glamorizing the ability of a bench player.
Thibs has us at number 3 seed with only two teams, former champs and one of two hottest teams in NBA, ahead of us. We can complain about what we feel Thibs lacks in but that, for me, is the biggest standard for how Thibs is doing.
Everything else is on players playing and doing what they need to do to win.
