The answer is both. Achiuwa isn’t helpful and Mitch is unplayable in the playoffs with the fouling. Knicks need to address the backup big this summer. We just need a Paul Reed type.
We made that big comeback with Mitch at center. Mitch pressured Tatum on that missed 3 late in the game. And defended the inbound pass in crunch time. F the missed free throws, Mitch played a role in this win with defense and rebounding. We dont play him we lose.
What a game
So was it a change in D that threw celts shooting odd or did they just go cold?
Now let’s steal the next one too

3-10 free throws but +13 for the game. Maybe start Robinson and bring Hart off the bench? If he starts quarters, Celtics have to foul 5 times before he goes to the line.

Im guessing the key to keeping Mitch healthy is bringing him off the bench. Bring him in when the pace slows from those first few minutes.
Hart was great tonite. The only change I would make is for Brunson to start the game distributing. JB is an underrated passer. OG is showing what he can do.

I’m sorry didn’t you mean a Huktuah type?

Both but we are playing much different defense then we did in the regular season which was primarily drop and also against DET which was a hedge and recover style defense. Knicks switched everything 1 thru 5 tonight. That’s basically prevent defense against 3s.
Basically everyone who we wanted to choke in the first half contributed huge to the second half comeback. Mitch, Mikal, all of them played a huge role. Team effort all the way - that’s the only way you can beat the Celtics.
Cs missed a bunch of 3s and we missed a bunch of FTs and gave us loads of ORBs. Every game is different. Cs looked vulnerable against ORL and historically have had shaky resolve. Who knows what’s up with Porzingis. Much different series now than it was a few hours ago.

Mikal and OG were unbelievable on the perimeter and the refs did a humanitarian pause on their campaign against KAT in the second half.
Goddammit he went there and now an intergalactic Knicks fans vs Knicks fans battle will commence

Mitch needs to play. In addition to his rebounding, shot blocking and rebounding he as a perimeter defender gets in passing lanes and changes shots. Celts had a lot of trouble in-bounding at the end of regulation and OT because of Mitch.
Just make 50% of your FTs
This years team is steadily stockpiling moments that are making last years team feel like a distant memory. This playoff run thus far has been full of drama and insane moments from the KAT shots to the Brunson dagger to the Boston comeback. Epic stuff.

Just like Thibs said postgame there is a reason they are fouling him to try and make him unplayable. They don’t want him on the court. If they did they wouldn’t foul him like that.

Not sure if I’ve ever thought of it that way

Weird part is we all know the Knicks are far from their peak too. Lots and lots of upside.
Difference between inexperienced Detroit and been there done that Celtics right here
Brunson is so great. Just the way he plays is so phucking great. I am no longer surprised and at this point expect it because I know Brunson is special. Point is another amazing game from him is par for this beautiful course.
Here's the thing.. OG outplayed Tatum. Like that's it. Thibs rode Bridges all game and showed us all why. I thought a big xfactor for us was seeing how Bridges and KAT both seemed to have another gear and they showed that again tonight. Just making physical plays and impacting the game.
Just a great team win. Thought we were jinxed when Brunson's would be game winner rolled out. Nope. The Celtics did miss a lot of shots but they are also shit. Long contested jumpers and our guys were all cheating out. We had great scrambles and even when they moved it for some layups it was only after they had to work.
literally so proud of the team tonight. Went to see Thunderbolts with the fam. Came back for end of 4th and OT and we were all hooting and hollering. Such good drama.
Looking forward to spending my workday tomorrow watching it (DVR)
