OG IS UNHAPPY??!
Seriously?
Fuck OG. He got his bag and more than he's worth.
He was like the 7th or 8th most impactful player on the court in the Indiana series making $40M a year.
DLeethal wrote:With regards to pairing too many starts and all that, I saw the below tweet yesterday. I think the FO wants to see Brunson with more of a Haliburton kind of impact. Haliburton went 14-6 yesterday and the Pacers beat the Thunder. Haliburton hit the game winner. Brunson takes a beating on a nightly basis, and works harder for his points than anyone in the league. I think the Knicks want him to get off ball more, take more plays off on offense, and remain the best closer in the game. I would agree I think it's a critical time to take his workload down a significant notch before the beatings catch up with him. So I'm not worried about pairing too many guys who need the ball, Brunson and Giannis or KD are very high IQ players. And Towns is actually a very high IQ offensive player. They are also very unselfish and they compliment each other very well, despite having high usage on their individual teams.
If Brunson gave us a dozen or more Game 5 Haliburton's a season we would be in trouble. Every player is different. We can't run Brunson into the ground, but he's also built to carry the load. I do think having him go off ball and playing him with another PG at times is something that would make a huge difference. Thibs never leaned into 2 PG lineups with Brunson, but they were effective when he did. Whether it was playing with Quickley, McBride, even Payne! There was good lineup data. Brunson is excellent on catch and shoot plays and he doesn't get enough of those opportunities.

I don’t think he’s unhappy as he has just that lowkey personality. But I do think he’s the player who will be shopped for a legit star, along with Mitch. Those are the contracts that make sense.

Caris LeVert or Spencer Dinwiddie. 2 bigger guards who can create offense, play next to Brunson, and are both quality defenders. Both are free agents. We could use one of them.
Folk don't like the way KD left OKC.
Mainly he and Lebron for the power they yielded and as fans we don't have that.
We go to our jobs and can't do what these guys to do.
KD comments about knicks were appropriate for the time. We had cap space but sucked and FO was a mess.
No culture.
With Nets, you had something in place that could be build on. It dod not work as we all know.
He is a bit of a weird dude.
Im not advocation we go for him. I'd be curious what we offered Suns.
I don't think OG is unhappy. I think he was pissed at KAT for defense assignments.
OG had his best year and does not fall on his feet every time. Lets stop with stereotype.
He resigned here because he wants to be and we paid him nice. Its business.

He's complained about his offense role/touches all year long. And he was the most animated in his frustration with KAT on defense. He has kept it professional and measured though, so from the outside it doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Yes on big guard who can handle and distribute next to Brunson. These 2 guys are more iso score first but either would help and maybe someone else out there can be had.
New coach needs to get ball moving more somehow without dramatically effecting Brunson wrong way.
I want Brogdon for the mini MLE.
Intrigued by a Brunson, Durant, Giannis, OG roster. Going out would have to be Mitch, McBride, Bridges, and KAT.
KAT, OG for Giannis, Portis, and Kuzma
No to Kumza. Please, anyone but Kuzma
ramtour420 wrote:No to Kumza. Please, anyone but Kuzma
Yeah, I feel that deal puts us two steps back. Thankfully,I think Milwaukee says no anyway I less Giannis and his team put in extra work forcing his way here.
Worried about our offense getting even worse without OG but I trust Leon and Giannis is a better player than KAT.
Always liked Portis too! We need an enforcer on this damn team!
Kuzma as bench player is not too bad.

What do you believe happens when Brunson and OG have zero usage? Definitional term for this is StarPhuch.just not enough usage to go around - you need role players.

do you need more role players or just better ball movement?

Yeah, Kuzma hasn't been close to decent in nearly two years now. And he makes KAT look Ryan Dunn defensively. The eye test and analytics back that up.
Wonder how a 3 way would look like with NO and Zion. MIL could get their picks back that way and tank proper. MIL could take Zion, get their first(s) back, we could throw in the WAS first. Send OG and Mitch to NO who they could keep or flip for more assets.
NO trades Milwaukee's 1st back to dump Zion, Knicks trade OG and Mitch and a 1st and whatever swaps we got left, Knicks get Giannis
Prob would require us taking back some crap from NO and adding some more value.
If we dont make a big trade, signing Al Hortford would be my target. and Trading Deuce for DDV back. I think Wright can give you the Deuce role, and we also have Kolek in the pipeline. and whatever happened to Rokas?

Ever. His stats have always been inefficient.

Role players. You can’t assume that 3 guys each with 35% usage are going to produce the same way. There isn’t enough ball. So you are reducing their production by literally taking the ball out their hands. You need guys that can be productive without the ball in their hands. I think 3 stars is too many. I think there is room for synergy and for rotations - don’t get me wrong it’s not absolute, but I don’t think folks should overlook usage when combining players.
