You also have Diawara and Nnaji likely to be on the roster on two way or 2nd round exceptions. Both need development, but Diawara seemed pleasantly further along than I expected. Nnaji has a brutal size/strength. Huge wingspan. With Westchester moving Moses Brown, I expect him to get a lot of early season minutes down in Westchester.

Diawara probably could use a bit of GLeague time too, but he really impressed me.

If I see roster imbalance, it’s the number of 6’4 or less guards (including Hart) on the roster. It makes me believe Hart is back in the starting lineup despite Robinson being the better positional size.

If you don’t have Hart in the starting lineup, that second unit has 4 6’4 or less players Brogdon/Clarkson/Deuce/Hart/Yabu? The run and gun will be fast. The vertical spacing will be nonexistent.

These are good problems but I definitely feel like there is a significant roster move to be made to balance the roster Bigs as you mention.

Your not wrong but teams need luck to win and being healthy is key and Im not sure one can insure against it come playoff time.
Thomas Bryant is being rumored to be knick flirtation at the moment.
No room unless we do a trade as we stand now. That will come with a cost of moving someone on the roster.
Few times teams can win it all when their best player or 2nd best goes down or is not 100%.
Indy came real close but Haliburton was not up to par then crashed.
GSW won a title when all the best PG's went down and then Steph grabed the honor and has not let go.
Knicks? Willis game 7 was a rare occurrence but key was getting to game 7! Then Clyde played one of the greatest if not THE greatest game 7 performance!
In 1972 Willis was not himself and Lakers were just too strong that year. At one point had won 33 straight games a record that still stands! Knicks had gotten former All Star Jerry Lucas who proved valuable the next season was that kind of "Insurance". Be nice to get a player like that. Is that Kevin Love? He too washed up I think. Or do we get somoene via trade like Walker Kessler who would cost us big time which has been discussed a few times in the last year.

Whoever ends up getting the final spots on the roster will have def earned them!

Good point. In terms of rim protection, we saw how Mitch made a difference. Having another rim protector would definitely be a plus.

New players and what was Thibs issues to solve is now Browns. Can he solve them or does he erase the past and change the matrix of the knicks?

Forget "for or against" the coaching change, this is just goning to be very interesting!

The more I think about it, I could see the Knicks moving Dadiet for a late first and Kolek for a 2nd. Like Dadiet to San Antonio for the Atlanta 1st. Kolek to Brooklyn for a second or two.

That would allow them to sign Brogdon, Shamet, Len, and Diawara to get to 14 players. They can put Nnaji down in Gleague for the first half of the season to use the reps that Moses Brown will no longer be using and when they get to the half way point, they'd have about $700k left to sign Nnaji (or Pate or Warren) to a pro-rated deal if he is ready.

That they signed Tosan, McCullar and Jemison to 2Way deals makes this seem plausible.

Good take and you might be spot on! But we also talking about players who might not see the light of day?
Im fine moving Kolek and while it hurts I could see Deuce as expendable as well.
What we don't know is the plan for Mitch beyond this season or willing to let him walk after this year? He gets hurt, his earning potential does as well.
I'd like to see Dadiet stick as he might be a good player one day. We kept him mostly on the team last year.
At the same time Brogden is fragile and I doubt Shamet is going to put us over the top. I like these dudes, but trying to be objective.
Deuce contract has two more years to it and actually drops season after this! He is a tremendous value but question is how and where does he fit and get his minutes?
Logic stands that He and Clarkson are next up. Where is Brogdan on the chart? Is he even healthy? For all we know he gets "injured" and we bring him back later in the year?

What was that saying? Success is when opportunity and preparation meet? Not sure the exact wording, but it seems like we are doing the preparation part alright. That's how a team gets over the edge of " how do we take on player injuries". This year it's the deepest team we have had in like forever. The preparation part we seem to be down with. The opportunity is what I am excited about. The next man up mentality installed under Thibs. I hope we double down on it

Harris, owner of the sixers installed Hinkie to execute some high level math schematic that simply went awry. League grew impatient with them and forced changed preventing more "Trials" or "Cycles" to perhaps see if the factors would execute as thought. Was it a lack of preparation? Arrogance? Ignorance? Bad JuJu? Most likely a bit of it all. Then you have the Collangelos enter the fray were they no doubt improved things until Bryan Lost his mind a bit.

Before embarking on a long winded Nalodian tangent about Hinkie and the Collangelos I just had to see if anyone did make a documentary or a good take about the era Martin referenced. Searching the internet I found a nugget written a few years ago (see link below) that tells the story if you have 5-10 minutes for a read. It even has a "Elfred Payton" reference if PhilC has any attention span or reading comprehension beyond the first sentence! We know he then has to inject his joy for Doris, Zach, or Adam to sprinkle on a conspiracy for lakers. Even so, Lakers once upon a time instead of taking Tatum after Fultz number one, they freaking drafted Lonzo Ball!

To your point, how do we get the best value out of our spare parts.

Have to be in win now mode. Trading young players for assets and cap space to use on Vet Mins is the best short term value add, though arguably at the cost of future overall value.

I don’t need to move Dadiet for Shamet or Kolek for Len, but to add a late first for Dadiet and still add more experienced depth has to be considered. Assume you could keep Precious on a min contract, or pull Trey Lyles back from Europe? And add a late draft pick or a 2nds? If we are all in, go all in.

Dadiet for a first is fine. Really comes down to how good he is. Have to trust the FO here. Would be nice to have something in the pipeline but if he's meh then a first is great.

For my 2c it's good bye Tyler, sorry you have no bag.

Knicks go into the year really stacked from top to bottom. They really dont have any holes and have a great chance to make it out of the east. I really just hope Brown gels with these guys. He's a pure players coach and the Knicks have a great leader in their captain already. The Nova guys, OG, KAT, Mitch, McBride... they are all winners. We have too good a mix for a long adjustment period. Brown needs to have the kind of season Cavs had last year, minus of course the post season shitter

Agree about potential return. However, another team has to be willing to give up a roster spot for them. So value does matter regardless if Knicks just want to get rid of them to clear space.
Not sure how I feel about giving up young assets for Shamet. I like him but Deuce has been a bigger contributor. Brogdon may be a different story but only if he can stay healthy. Like the idea of Mathews since you can never have enough three point shooting. Going to trust the FO.
