Knicks · Shams does not have the aura of a WOJ Bomb but anything Giannis to NY will do, exploritory of course until next summer (page 1)

Gotta bad feeling Silver sends him to the lakers for a Hachimura and Kleber and the bucks coincidentally win the lottery next summer.

Lakers already got Doncic and legit don't have enough outgoing salary.

Plus, NBA can't beat LA-NY.

Speaking of which

I see this as setting the table for next summer. We will have more picks available and more flexibility.
VDesai @ 10/7/2025 9:49 AM
Obviously 2024 offseason was the time to make the move, but I'm sure Bucks were less receptive. However that's when the Knicks had the assets and Bucks could have gotten the best package.

Theoretically we could have moved the package of Randle+Bogey+the 5 picks for Giannis. Probably keep DiVo.

Would you rather have Giannis+DiVo then KAT/Mikal? I think 99% of the board would prefer Giannis/DiVo, but its an interesting thought exercise.

And by that you mean Leverage. Both from the Knicks side of things and for Giannis.

I have been thinking about your proposition.

Brunson/Divo/OG/Giannis/Robinson/Hart
or
Brunson/Bridges/OG/KAT/Robinson/Hart

On its face, your proposition makes some sense, but in the advanced stats, you have a clogged field with some combination of Giannis, Hart and Robinson on the floor together. Additionally, you get conflicting usage with Giannis and Brunson both being ball dominant. A season of Brunson playing off ball might fix this.

I'm the 1% that prefers KAT/Bridges to Giannis/Divo, but its only because I think the Brunson/Giannis pairing is no different or better than the Lillard/Giannis pairing. I don't really think they pair well. So, its Brunson or Giannis in my analysis. I think Giannis has to be the only non-3 shooter on a team for effectiveness.

If the Knicks got a phone call like the Doncic trade that was Brunson and Hart for Giannis. Straight up (the numbers work perfectly for some reason), I think they'd have to pause and consider.

Deuce
Bridges
OG
Giannis
Kat

Giannis covers KAT's weakness with DPOY chops. He handles the high post in a 4/1 motion set flawlessly. You have two way players except for KAT so its harder to call for switches against their D.

I am comfortable sticking with our squad though. Any trades probably set us back a cycle (again).

Knicks have a ton of leverage here. Knicks are already strong contenders. Knicks can operate with a take it or leave it mindset with Kat, Deuce, Mitch and other smaller assets.

Been a loooooooooong time coming for Knicks to be in this type of position.

Don’t understand the exploratory of course until next year?

Seems very plausible to me Greek could makes things go south for Bucks quick if he wants out.

Fact this came out right now makes me believe this was Greeks camp leaking the news.

Bucks wouldn’t want it out and it only stands to potentially disrupt Knicks if guys start looking over their shoulder.

We’ve been waiting for years for a guy to say I only want NY and it seems the Greek just did that. Throw in his comments the other day where Bucks owner said he & Greek had met but Greek followed that up and said I don’t recall any meeting/conversation.

This feels real and given fact we’ve already been given an exclusive Knicks only chance to toss trade scenarios around things could go quickly if Greek forces a bit more. Apparently he;s already moved his family out of Milwaukee (back to Greece) — could be he knows things could get testy short term.

We shall see I guess but if I’m an athlete with limited years in my body I wouldn’t want to wait extra years risking injury if I had the ability to force my way out now.

Bucks will insist on Mosgov.

I like it. It puts some pressure on both teams to get off to a good start. With the way the Knicks roster is constructed, I dont see Knicks picks as having much value. On the flip side, the Bucks pucks to Portland and New Orleans are looking extremely valuable. The place to watch is Portland and New Orleans, if either of those teams looks to have a chance at a playoff run, maybe they look at moving some future picks for help today.

Giannis does not have leverage this year, meaning Bucks management can just turn to OKC Houston where those teams would have the rest of the season, the offseason, and the following season to arrange direct flights to Athens for him via private jet. Done and done for Bucks.

I don't think it's plausible that someone like Ginannis would purposely make it difficult for the Bucks. What would you expect him to do? Tank? I just dont see that in his personality and competitiveness.

I'm just saying it already seems to be heading the wrong way for Bucks.

Entire NBA has been monitoring Greek situation, now his camp (IMO) leaks this news NOW (why?). Just the other day Greek contradicts his owner regarding a supposed discussion the 2 had. Moving the family out seems like another clear signal he's getting ready to butt heads with Bucks.

It all depends on where Greek is mentally -- has he already been pushing privately for Bucks to move him? Is NY the only place he wants?

Would it be out of the question for Greek to come down injury that starts keeping him out of games? I don't know. I know there is all kinds of talk about character but many on here would swear by Carmelo and he made things very difficult on Nuggets.

Wishful thinking on my part - probably
