Oof -- a few really bad looks for him tonight and Brown didn't looked thrilled with him at all.
- completely blown by on 1 drive where he was in good initial position (may have been on N Powell)
- then he's late to loose ball under basket, slips to ground with big rear-end landing on Powell for 3 point play
- then he fumbles ball under hoop and as he's falling out of bounds tosses ball right to Miami to start key fast break and bucket
- then he gets potentially key offensive rebound, completes a nice pump-fake to get defender off ground - then completely misses basket on layup
He looks scared some out there --- certainly doesn't provide any shot-blocking or defensive presence you'd ideally want out of a small ball 5.
Rooting for him and Clarkson along with EVERYONE but these 2 are looking shaky --- Clarkson I trust more to come out of it but if Yabu keeps laying turds and doesn't drop (25) he could be moved post Dec and pre Feb.

Did anyone watch this game and not notice a new offense at all?
If I'd looked at the bench would have expected to see Thibs standing over there yelling.

Also - this team remains clunky on offense.
- Kat slow as molasses with those size 19 he's lugging around
- OG balance is off the charts poor and I hold my breath when he dribbles up in the backcourt even without pressure
- Mikal typically adds in 2 or 3 mind boggling bonehead passes each game
- Hart can dribble and pass but will only shoot at peach baskets
- Yabu is the new Obi as he only likes to pass ball around perimeter or hand off and screen
Who else am I missing?

We shot 54 3s which isn't a Thibsy number. We just suck at shooting 3s right now. And while we use more of our bench, our bench kinda sucks right now

Well that is correct -- the piss poor shooting early made everything else look bad but that # also leads me to ask do we really want guys like Mikal/OG/Hart/Clarkson/Yabu/Kolek all chucking up early high volume 3's for the sake of just taking more 3s.
In any event you are correct -- we did get a lot of 3's up but many of them looked like guys were settling big time.

Yabu is not playing well I am going to give him until December but he needs to get his act together. I think Clarkson is in slump right now but rather him play bad now than later in the season. Kat only big man we have right now, Mitch is Mr Glass don’t know what going on with him and it’s contract year for him. We should call the suns and trade for either mark williams or nick Richards in December or at deadline in February.

Yes I saw that to. I guess Rick is the new head coach and it only took 3 games.

Yabu has a player option for year two of his deal. I was worried he would opt out this off season. Now Im worried he will opt in. Yet, that's why I think he will improve his play. He should be motivated to earn a bigger deal next off season. For that reason I think his play will dramatically improve.

with the exception of JB, all the team was sleep walking, too much partying previous night? that affected defense and offence, if one of these was right, we could've won the game!
Whats with the Knicks injury secrecy, why we keep saying Mitch is under load managment? what load?

The was a brutal game ngl. I am worried about our team shooting, when you look around the court there isn't much pure shooting out there to just be going bombs away like we have been. Hoping that it's just an adjustment period and this team gets used to shooting as much as they are now and settle down a bit.
Miami low key might have the best defensive starting 5 in the league though and might be better than anyone has given them credit for this year. So that could also be a factor. They kind of remind me of the "we here" team that might surprise some people this year.

I am trying to be more patient this year and not live and die game to game. It would've been nice to see us come out of the gate like Cleveland last year, but this might be a little rocky to start off especially until the team finds its footing in the shooting department. How we bounce back after our first horrible L will be a big measuring stick for us. Indiana started the year like 10-17 or something last year before looking every bit the championship level team in the playoffs so this early season stuff doesn't matter all that much.

Tough loss. It looks like it just came down to us missing shots. I'd like to say Deuce would've helped but the truth is we had more than enough weapons to pull out the win.

Of course this would happen. Team had a lull and looked bad start of the 4th.
Jalen left the floor for the lockerroom so perhaps he was not well?
The assumption he was out too long, perhaps he as out enough given he looked great when Knick cut it to 5. Bit to late but it was a good run. something positive.
Credit Miami who was ready for knicks and their new look offense. This won't be the last time as other teams will stifle with proper defesnse execution. Spo's teams historically are great defending the passing lanes.
Miami is not the most talented team but they are always prepared.
Yabu does not look good at all out there. Now we understand why he is a 12mm player and not more. I know we as a fan base talked him up in the offseason as the second coming of Boris Diaw but one has to expect new team, with a new coach and a new system. With the sudden disappearance of Mitch and KAT needing a GPS as he learns where he needs to be there are clunky moments.
Yes,, the foul trouble persists and its why he was not driving to the rim laat as he is prone to offensive fouls.
On to MIlwaukee where Giannis and the rumors await.

Not a real Knicks fan if you don’t die a little inside with each loss, I think. It’s why the rest of us don’t have any hearts any more

Just glanced at box score and after noticing a bunch of ZEROS added up the bench tally and our bench shot 1-18 from 3.

no it's basketball terrorism. What a phucking joke.
Just keep shooting even if you miss is why Thibs outcoached Mazullo and we beat Boston last year. We have lots of players who can attack and score at the rim when it's not falling.
OR
Just keep chucking 3s that miss.

Crappy loss but give the cHeat credit. Powell played like a star and their bench dropped 44 points. Can't win on the road shooting 39% and missing 39 threes. Nobody could make a shot besides the Cap and Mikal. KAT hit two threes late but he was off. The bench was horrific! Clarkson 2/11, 0/4 from three and Shamet 0/4 from three and Yabusele 0/4 from three too. Transition defense was also shit giving up 31 points.

I can’t shake the fact that this team is still clunky as hell - we don’t handle the ball well (our front court in particular with Mikal/OG/Kat/Mitch/Yabu are sloppy ball handlers, passers and mistake prone).
We still don’t have a guard / wing with some size to create off of - or next to Brunson.
Hart brings some of this but is brutal offensively — Clarkson as well but he’s a wild ride every night.
Just collectively we aren’t great dribbling, passing, creating for each other.
Kat - our expensive 2nd option goes from smart to stupid play to play —- can’t stop with sloppy TO’s and horrific silly fouls every blanking night.
All that said - still a top 3 team in East but nothing feels special about this group.
Also - something seems off - not sure exactly but feel like Kat has wind of trade on the burner and Mitch situation is just whack ( he’s not that good to be rested this long and if he’s hurt again well there you go (hurt again).
GO KNICKS
