I will say its kinda crazy how quickly Brown abandoned the bench. He's playing the same guys Thibs played basically except he has Clarkson and a healthy Mitch.

Always felt the narrative that Thibs didn't play his bench was nonsense, he had no bench last year, but the prior years he went 10 deep when we had all the youth.

my take away is the league needs to do away with the corner 3 pt shot, its become too easy.

Removing the corner 3's and only leaving the full 23.9" three's would go a long way toward a more balanced and diverse offensive game.

I wouldn't say that. There are plenty of guys on that list who probably need to settle down on the threes. My man Svi isn't one of them, tho. Keep getting those checks Svi!

My takeaway is that we shit the bed not taking Jalen Williams or Tari Eason instead accepting three highly protected 1st rd picks that look good on paper but have had no more value than as throw ins on deals.

I love me some Tari Eason and the boys fumbled that ball.

that was the trade that literally got us Brunson

It’s true. Plus the bench and depth is speaking for itself too

THe oft injured EASON is out 6-8 weeks from oblique injury last night.

OG checks on that pot but will not up the ante and stay at 2 weeks. Hopefully 🤞

When less (or different) is more, just like with Jalen.

Winning a chip in Houston would help cement his legacy. As is, it seems he joined an already (championship) stacked team to get his prior rings.

That's a little bit of an oversell. They ended up being about 8mm more under the cap (pretty much exactly Hartenstein's salary) after those series of trades. The break in that logic is that they used the Denver pick and 4 seconds to get the 13th pick from Charlotte to draft Duren and send him to Detroit with Walker (8mm salary). To be the causation on the Brunson trade, you'd have to show that the Knicks had no other assets better than the next best offer for the 13th pick. I think they could have given any protected pick to make that deal and were sitting on the Dallas pick at the time. This trade preserved the arguably better pick (Dallas). I might even suggest that next trade may have already been in place at the time of the OKC trade and just conserved assets. I'd be more likely to accept that this is how we got Hartenstein. Still a worthy argument - a free agent signing worth comparing to Williams or Eason. I doubt we get Hartenstein without that trade. Best argument is that we didn't know how much cash we needed for Brunson at the time of those trades and they cleared as much as possible to get there.
