Think the vision of Yabu was to be a spacing 5 with the 2nd unit or a 4 next to KAT. His shooting has stunk. I thought he had more of a low post game and was better on the boards. He is playing better lately, moving better. Guy probably needs more PT, but not getting it because he's not hitting from deep consistently enough.
The biggest issue is he is too slow on the court. He can't cover enough ground on defense to defend.

Can we get a vet like Kevin Love or do we go with Diawara or Dadiet in his place ?
Yabu deadline day. He is no eligible to be dealt. How much longer do we wait
Knicks playing this well without his contributions. Team might figure he will be able to find himself. They may be patient with him. He may not be done yet as far as the front office is concerned.
The question is do you just move him for someone who could do what we need him to do more reliably - rebound, hit an occasional corner 3, move the ball. Would you rather have Yabu or Kevin Love? Yabu or Batum? Ancient guys but more reliable for a team in need of 10 solid mins of rebounding and floor spacing

If Love looked like he still has enough gas, it's do that switch with a second rounder for sure. It would also give you some $$ under cap to sign a buyout candidate, and you know there will be some players that want to join Knicks.
If the Knicks can move on from Yabusele someway/somehow. A cheap backup line Trey Lyles might be am option and already familiar with Mike Brown

Signed with Real Madrid. May be Diawara or Dadiet who gets the call. Unless Yabu is added to a larger deal including Mitch or Deuce I do think Yabu is moved at the deadline. Team likely will go with Dadiet or Diawara if they don't get Gershon on track. Dadiet is my dark horse. He can shoot and run and cut. He plays good defense. Diawara has the wingspan and maybe better defensively. Next game they rest OG let's see what they do. Unless we sign a buyout like Batum or Love when the time comes. I can see that. Heck maybe we bring in Tate and play him at the 4.

I have been thinking about this ever since Wade mentioned on the broadcast that KAT has been modeling his outlet pass on K Love.
I don't know how K Love is on defense now, but at least he knows how to box out and I'm guessing he's not gonna get back cut for an easy layup every 3rd possession.
The biggest problem is that player option on Yabu's contract. It might cost more than a second round pick.
I think KAT and Mitchell Robinson sit out tonight's game in Indianapolis. This is basically the time for Yabu to make me eat crow. Maybe OG and Hart are out too, in which case Yabu should get 30 minutes. That's something I don't think K Love can do at this stage. If Yabu can hold down the fort at 4 and 5 tonight, I will happily rescind my previous complaints.

Love is a good rebounder, outlet passer, and used to be good at 3.
And now he is older. But he got the experience, just can never tell if he got any juice left
It really sucks that Yabu is not playing up to expectations because that backup PF is really the biggest hole in this team's construction.
Waste of a MLE.
Love would be great, actually. Whatever's left in the tank fits perfectly with this offense. Those skills aren't based on athleticism either
Yabu failed his big interview today. Time to move on.

x2 Leon and Co. seem to be much more proficient at the draft then at free agency.
I think Yabu should consider swallowing his pride and going down to the gleague just to get his confidence back. If LeBron can go down there to play some games then no reason that he can't go down there. I would rather not trade him because I think Diawara will eventually become that 3/4 we need after the the allstar break. I think having Dadiet and Yabu around to help foster his development through this rookie season can be a good thing.

This season is too important. We need another guy who can fill in at the 5.

I don't think his problem is not swallowing things. He is delusional that he doesn't think he isnt out of shape
Yabusele needs to be moved he looks way out of shape compared to last year . Jemison looks more qualified for minutes than Yabusele. I think Yabusele is the classic case of looking good on a terrible roster last year, but he’s just not good enough for minutes on this roster. I’d call the jazz up and see if we can get Olynyk for Yabusele.
