My only thing is how does the dynamic of the team change. I am not sure I can answer that but will teams pack the paint more once KAT is off the team? Hart becoming a shooter might offset losing KAT in a Giannis trade. If Hart goes back to poor shooting and we trade for Giannis that paint will be packed again. Will the motion offense counter them packing the paint? Will teams not being able to double Giannis or Brunson counter the packed paint? I have so many questions.

Yes
And not for nothing but hasn’t Giannis also broke down 2 playoffs in a row
It all comes down to cost and Giannis holds most of the cards. He has a year and a half left on his contract before he has a player option kick in. This way if he's unhappy, teams can plan for his free agency next summer.
Knicks in 27 have contracts that will give them enough room to sign Giannis if KAT doesn't exercise his player option. KAT would have a pretty good landing pad as consolation for teams that miss out on Giannis.
All G has to do is leak that he will only extend with NY and tank his value.
Let's not forget the Kawhi Leonard situation. Toronto gets him at a discount bc Kawhi had such a short contract.

Not a bad thought but we need a Center after that trade.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Myles Turner
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Alex Antetokounmpo
Outgoing Players
Karl-Anthony Towns
Mitchell Robinson
Guerschon Yabusele
Pacome Dadiet

Possibly add Diawara and McCuller
Turner
Giannis
OG
Bridges
Brunson
Deuce, Hart, Clarkson, Shamet, Diawara
Stagger Giannis and Turner at C or play small ball with OG there for spurts.
Bol Bol, Alex Len, Kai Jones, and Tristan Thompson are currently available (which means probably will take the minimum).
This is the meaning of all in.
Good idea but I'd be a No on this. It's a depth thing. Even right now (Deuce/Shamet hurt), your depth would be Hart, Clarkson and ? Zero PG off bench too. Prime Thibs rotations of 38+ MPG for lots of dudes
And if a starter goes down for any length of time, especially at the bigs positions, you are really decimated.
Fair point. and I am not a big Giannis fan, but I am really not big on Towns. I like the idea of Towns skillset more than I like Towns the player. For depth you can bring back some of the summer league minimums (Alex Len servicable backup C, Garrison Mathews or Matt Ryan, 3 PG's currently available are Spencer Dinwiddie, Markell Fultz, and Patty Mills that I would be interested in. That may bring you the impact-though not style of play as Kolek.
I really feel we only lose some depth at C anyway. Losing Mitch and Towns. If you are going all in, Im not baking on Kolek whose summer league sucked, or Padiet who IDK what is going on. this team already has too many developmental guys (Kolek (inconsistent summer leagues), Huk (actually like the guys alot), Diawara (unknown but looks decent) ) that get semi regular minutes. Championship teams have a prospect or two that they bring along slowly until they contribute, but put much of the responsibility on known quantities. Len to me is a known quantity as as Mills and Dinwiddie and to a lesser extent Fultz. Matthews and Ryan are eh, but valuable for their shooing but there are other FA's currently available that may have more of an impact
Malik Beasley
Bol Bol
Trey Lyles
Talen Horton Tucker
Cody Martin
Lonnie Walker
I'd be interested in any of these guys as depth pieces. and they may contribute just as much as guys like
I think in these scenarios we have to be a little more realistic about the Washington (PPROTECTED) pick. The entire raison d'etre of the Wizards this season is to hold on to that pick. It's. not. going. to. be. a. first. rounder.
It will convert as the likely no. 1 in the second round (I think second round follows record not the draft). And a high second round pick next season.
Those aren't really great assets for a rebuilding team but for a capped out challenger looking to avoid the more onerous provisions of the CBA (ahem), it is extremely valuable- maybe, maybe even better than the no. 9 pick which would require a set salary who draft history tells us is barely an odds on favorite to sign a second contract.

In this scenario I thought of the Washington pick as a second rounder(s), which is why I included so many younger players.

You may not believe in Kolek but why are you focused on Summer League I instead of his current backup role right now?
I don't know how to read this
But is it relevant to a potential Giannis trade?

I think you are confusing my post with a previous one. Compared to draft picks, Kolek, Hukporti, and Dadiet have less value because thus far none of the 3 project as a starter on a good team. I think they are all solid NBA role players, but I don't know if they are any better than half the guys Milwaukee already has.
Kevin Porter Jr. < Kolek?
Rollins < Dadiet?
Sims < Hukporti?
I don't think they do much for Milwaukee.
I just watched a KAT highlight reel of his defense! Something I have not seen before.
I have seen this before, a player asked to imporove other aspects of his game falter on strenghts until its instinct.
Kat is not putting up big numbers becuase he is cerebrally adapting to a new offense and defeensive posture.
I have the utmost respect for Giannis and his desire to play here. But Im not giving away our depth on a guy who is missing games and might not be there thru the full season. Not saying to ignore KAT's historical injury issues, but he is a knick and my guy. Last year he, not Giannis, and not iHart got the team to new heights. Im rolling with this roster.
If the time comes and a trade is announced I'll root hard for his success and the team!

Agree 100% and the Knicks have done very well picking in the second round in recent years(Deuce, Mitch).
Why are we supposedly interested in Jose Alvarado?

To make Brunson look tall?

40% 3point shooter. Very tough defense. He is a true PG
very redundant with Deuce, and Jose is a FA after this year. Would only makes sense if we are trading Deuce in a package elsewhere. And Deuce is signed through next season.

This is the avenue to net Giannis while reducing the cost of asset capital & avoiding having to give up the wings.

He probably measures strong as a POA defender. Which the team has been looking for.

He's definitely a negative asset, and one that might help MIL win a few more games which they wouldn't want.
Thing is, to match contracts you'd have to add one of our other big salary wings.

He is redundant with Deuce but also an incredible upgrade over Kolek, worlds better although I havent watched him a ton.
You could pair Deuce and Alvarado. Or start Deuce in a pinch. If Brunson misses time, the drop off and replacement is much easier.
I don't know what it would take to get Alvarado but NOP also in a position to lose him for nothing if they don't trade him.

not sure that works. Even if salaries match that means we are trading 5 for 2 and would need to fill 3 roster spots. Not sure we'd have room with the 2nd apron to legally do that.
