The assist numbers REALLY jump out, right? I'd guess that was the vision with KAT but he struggling with the fast decisions to release the ball.
DPOY-10? Omg omg omg! I thought his D was terrible. Didn't expect tgat

very few centers in NBA history that have averaged 7-8 apg. that's Jokic-like.
rebounding totals dont even tell the whole story, Sabonis is much better on offensive boards which is something we have really used to our advantage the past few years.
all that being said, its more about attitude. KAT just seems to have negative Marbury--esque energy that isn't uplifting the team. He doesn't get back on defense and is constantly complaining.
Nalod wrote:Domatas has lead the league in rebounding 3 years in a row and while off this year, very much still equal at the very least to KAT. He does not score at the same rate as KAT. Is avg 15ppg this season and 16 for career. KAT, 20ppg this year, 23 career. Steals about the same, KAT more blocks. Im not sure what your getting in Sabonis that is that much greater? Personal fouls? Lower, 3.1 vs. 3.6. That is not enough.
Perhaps if we watch Dom every game we'll find ways to dislike his game and then he too can become our blame dude? Im not loving Kat either these days but we hae won with him and prior to the 2-9 stretch it was all managable. Change is not always improvement.
Sabonis is a smarter player who knows how to execute with better pattern recognition and with greater speed and decisiveness.
He is a better passer than KAT which more than offsets any points differentials. The ball would move more efficiently with Sabonis and our defense would be superior to having KAT.
So, yes, replacing KAT with Sabonis would be an improvement.
The Giannis thing looks to be coming to a conclusion, Giannis obviously wants out. I keep going back to KAT, OG, WSH pick for Giannis, Turner & Portis.
Maybe OG rerouted to a 3rd team like PHO for Green?
Others have said it, I don't know why SAC would want KAT.
SAC needs another wing in between Derozen and Zach and Murray? What the heck are they doing

THIS.
Towns is a bit of a child. The playoffs are a long run and every off game that Towns costs us wears down the chances of winning it all. And the moody, dark cloud that hangs around Towns like a necklace just gets worse.
It is not Towns per se. It is the fact that Brunson can get mugged in a series as well. I don't think Brunson's getting traded but a choice between the two I think is inevitable. That being said, we don't have forever to win.

Well, maybe its the best deal on the table to get rid of Schroder. Sabonis is a risk. The team trading for him hopes his knee is stable enough to finish out the season.
A deal for Towns (when his value is high) should involve some first round picks. If Sacto can get a young Dadiet, an inexpensive Yabu, and Towns, they'd be in decent shape.
The bigger question is what would they want with RJ Barrett and a likely dump of a bad Poeltl contract.
I like Sabonis but it seems a lateral move and he's coming off a knee/meniscus injury so there's risk with that as well. Unsure about Memphis as a trade partner but the JJJr move at least offers us a defensive upgrade. I would rather go for keeping the old Thibs rim protecting Center due to the team's construction around a small PG.
Mark Williams and D.Brooks or G.Allen would improve our depth, shooting, rim protection and flexibility with Mitch seems he's often injured/rehabbing. While I am not convinced Brooks's current production will sustain - he does fit well with defensive intensity, toughness and would become our D.Green (which this team is sorely lacking). Hart could move back to the 2nd unit and no more adjusting for KAT. M.Williams gets his lobs, rim protects and becomes another (although slightly lesser) version of Mitch. Brunson (who's not going anywhere) doesn't have to focus on getting KAT his touches...
We would lose KAT's offensive potency but gain toughness, depth and reduce those boneheaded mistakes that offset much of KAT's positives
Why wouldn't this help us?
SAC - RJ, Poetle
NY - Sabonis, Saric
TOR - KAT
LeBad Idea:
Kat/Duece
For Ivica Zubac and James Harden.
Clipps if they think not going any where do get the best player in the trade. THey get a young stud in Deuce whose contract is a steal.
Harden has a player option for a bit over 40 mil next year. You stretch him, say two years at 25 per. Know at some point it ends badly but thats the price for NOW. Zuback is solid. Harden off the bench. 6man of year candidate. Zubac makes 18mm.
Sure it has holes. Its not gonna happen. Dumb trade ideas are fun!
Im asking why when Jalen left the bench before the Dallas game was over did Clarkson follow him? Did he sit last night becuase of that? Or he on the blame hot seat? He cap fodder to be waived if traded? Is he one of the problems?
The NBA trade deadline is the most suspenseful thing in all of sports.

Good guy, too bad it not working out in NY.

Ha looks like he took it down. Mostly it was just: I'm thankful for today and we shall see if I'm still on the team tomorrow. Something like that
" Whatever happens tomorrow, I’m extremely blessed to be in the position that I am today.
Minor setback for major comeback that’s my favorite.
Love y'all 🖤 #777

Shit like this dumbs us down.....
https://empiresportsmedia.com/new-york-k...
Says how important he is but if we trade him it solves the "Lose hiim for nothing" but does not solve who takes his place and his production.
The choice is not hard if there is a belief this team can make a bonafide run. While that is not a popular thought the last two weeks, it need be addressed.

Define bona fide run.
We have seen this movie before with Mitch. Will he survive the rest of the season and the early playoffs?
You've got to have an extraordinary faith in KAT navigating the basketball court to trade Mitch while simultaneously believing Mitch is not a player made of glass.
Not an easy problem.

Well, keeping the status quo and cheerleading them along is the likely course of action but fiscally it drives us off a cliff for coming years.
