So NYK essentially gets Jose Alvarado & 22-year-old Sochan at trade deadline. Sochan gives Knicks depth up front. Club is also high on Sochan’s defensive versatility and ball-handling, per sources. With Sochan on roster, Knicks feel like they have 15 players they are comfortable having on the court, league sources say

That’s right, wasn’t he the point guard for the Spurs for awhile?. I think he can point forward ala how we had Randle bringing up the ball. Just gives us another guy who can actually dribble and see te floor

Probably could have gone somewhere else to get more playing time.

Not a ton of minutes guaranteed with the Knicks.

Interesting choice by Sochan

If he picked the Knicks maybe the Knicks promise something to him that made him pick the Knicks?

Does Westchester have a AA team?!

First off and Kudos to yabu who waived his player option to get playing time in Chicago.
I like that and he seems to be fairing well with them.
He might have that Euroleague deal in his back pocket for 5mil with covers it but truth is he could get hurt so I dig he "betting on himself".
It did not work out here but he supported his team and was a good solidier about it.
Sochan? Other than insurance I don't see a fit in the here and now. Perhaps as a longer term project and no doubt shit we can't see. THings like Dadiet traded? Host of other moves. I won't try to fit in how he fits or others because at some point we have to cut bait on some players, and the money has to fit. Shamet might get a better offer we can give? Deuce is wanted elsewhere and an extension offer we don't see? or a consolidated type trade.
Is it great move to bring in Sochan? Not yet, but its a good opportunity for Knicks and him. Perhaps we meet in the finals he can also offer good insight? The rest of it? WE'll figure it out after the parade!

My question is can he guard pascal siakam. We have no answers for that guy.

Was hoping Brown was going to give Diawara a shot at him the other night but I don't think he ever did (or I missed it).

When I was watching the game I said we need a Siakam stopper.

LivingLegend @ 2/12/2026 4:57 PM
Do we have his bird rights or no go?

It is only a matter of time before Spiderman guards Spiderman

Let's go to the experts. Sounds like a mixed bag...

Notable quote...

He’s a really good point guard so y’all should definitely start him at point over Brunson

hopefully we win it all and keep this team together. but if not, we are setting ourselves up to be able to trade for Giannis and have enough cheap depth left over.

Diawara, Jose, Sochan, 3 possible cheap rotation players for next year if we end up trading KAT + OG

martin @ 2/12/2026 6:48 PM
Loving the wing depth

Josh 6’5”
Mikal 6’6”
OG 6’7”
Sochan 6’8”
Diawara 6’9”

Exactly. Lots of versatility now off the bench and a lot more defense that make trades involving wing stop much more tenable.
