I went to bed more annoyed and angry than any other loss this season including both Detroit losses. It made me question everything about this team and right now I feel like this is a pretender and an overrated soft team that lacks toughness both on and off the court (in the locker room) to get to the Finals as they were and are expected to do so. I also do not think Brunson isn't good enough as the best player on a team to get them to a Finals either. He's not MJ or Kobe. He lacks the leadership, killer instinct and doesn't make his teammates better. I also absolutely despise how he's buddy buddy with the hicks. Like when Detroit plays us, they take it personal and play as if they hate us. We kind of play the same when we play Boston. But whenever we play Indiana, we do not play with the same urgency or hate and Brunson and Hart being best buddies with Haliburton and McConnell contributes to that imho. I kid you not if we played these same hicks in a playoff series even without Haliburton, they would STILL beat us and end our season.
And if Leon hired Brown in large part so he can get the most out of KAT, he failed miserably. They do not fit together and there needs to be a divorce this summer. KAT is not Joakim Noah and shouldn't be used like him. He had some scrub named Potter on him and we didn't get feature him!
It just feels like we are the most bland 34-20 ever and it really feels like we're getting sent home early in round 2.

I hate them, but nothing against that philosophy for them as they really played like they wanted this one.The Knicks? I keep saying it since the last few seasons and unfortunately that hasn’t changed: we are a team with a very poor attention span, very undisciplined and very inconsistent. Games like these show we are an immature team with the ability to concentrate for a few games and then revert back to our problems. How can it be multiple seasons where we just don’t consistently know how to react to aggression and don’t carry our defense to every game? Shots may be falling or not, but defense should always be there and it honestly starts with motivation.
If this team played consistent defense, they would truly be an elite team, and not the inconsistent one they are. This team just doesn’t change.
Agree 110% and that's on Brown, Brunson and Hart as the HC and leaders on the team. They play as if they are satisfied being just 'good' and do not strive to be great. Which is why they fell asleep after they won that stupid meaningless Cup, as if it means anything. They played as if the season was over and they won the real championship. Brunson is a very good player but I think we are finding out that Becky might have been right. He is not a 1A level player. I keep thinking back to that turnover against Miami in the playoffs and how the team collapsed and choked in game one last year and how Nembhard flat out embarrassed him in game six. This team is missing that leader and elite player of the level of MJ and Kobe. And MJ and Kobe wouldn't do a podcast during the season. Those guys were killers against every team and had no friends and basketball was 24x7. And if you do not have that player or mindset, you aren't going to win the championship.

Yes to all of this.
And the FO sees it too, just like all of us. They on the phone with Giannis getting him primed for the Sorry Not Sorry to the Bucks.
It's only been 2 games but Alvarado is not more impactful than Kolek.
Wow long tweet by Ian. That's unusual, he wanted to get this out
New Knick Jose Alvarado will be spending his All Star break at the Knicks practice facility. “No break for me I’m going to try to stay here, get a lot of reps in. Just get comfortable with everything - offense, defense. Just get a good rhythm," Alvarado said late Tuesday. "Because once I start doing that I can be a little bit more like myself.” In his MSG debut on Tuesday, Alvarado scored 4 points and handed out five assists in NYK’s OT loss to Indiana. He dove on the floor to chase a ball that he poked away from Pascal Siakam and forced TJ McConnel into a travel in his first few minutes on the floor. Later in the game, McConnel and other Pacers had some success when Alvarado was defending them. Alvarado went 1-for-5 on offense but handed out five assists in 18 minutes. All in all, the Brooklyn-born Alvarado seemed happy to have his home debut behind him. “Obviously playing for the Knicks is a huge thing for everybody. But I’m literally a kid from the same streets that the fans are. Just to be a part of everything, it’s a blessing,” Alvarado said in an interview with two reporters after Tuesday’s game. “But it was something that I had to get used to and now I finally got it out the way and now let’s get the ball rolling.” Alvarado and the Knicks will play in Philly tonight on the second game of a back-to-back. Any time spent on the court with teammates will be valuable for Alvarado at this point. He hasn’t had a full practice with his teammates because it’s rare for teams to practice at this point in the season. “I’ve gotta get used to playing with JB, KAT, everybody involved. So it’s a learning process but it’s gonna keep getting better,” Alvarado, a former Christ The King HS star, said. Mike Brown credited Chris Jent, TJ Saint, Brendan O’Connor and Darren Erman for helping Alvarado get up to speed. “They’re doing a great job on me,” the guard said. “Sometimes it’s more just getting in a rhythm with the guys, getting in a flow.”

Love him initially off the ball and receiving it in scoring position in 1/2 court.
Hat him walking ball up into pressure, dribbling by 1/2 court, calling for someone to screen while he searches out a good match-up and 3 other guys stand and watch.
We need to get away from this shit but we simply can’t seem to do it.

Well he was very impactful in Boston - very.
Last night he was kind of sucky.
Jose needs to play with swag offensively- attacking and confidently shooting the 3 ——- he can’t be hesitant and hopefully he just needs time to learn system/teammates.
Back to Kat though —- he’s a guy we want to headline a trade for Giannis with yet he’s playing like a JAG.
He gets his 20 and 12 but you really don’t feel him — he’s often ignored, he’s often in foul trouble, he hasn’t hit his 3’s like he’s always done, his shot diet is all blanked up.
When we do give him the ball he commits a foul, when we get him into 2 man game he sets questionable (illegal) screens.
He’s like a big child who can get you 20-12 in his sleep but will give it all back with shit shots, fouls and falling asleep on D.
I thought Diawara was suppose to be Siakim?

My hot take is that Brown is back to alchemy and figuring out player combos with the addition of Alvarado as well as missing players. The lineups he used last night are wonky. 4 guards and KAT doesn't really make sense.
Brunson is holding the ball too long - the Points per dribble stat is plummeting. Basically feels exactly like last year's team in the way its being run with wonky lineups interspersed instead of the same 8 players every game.
Team needs to wake up and smell the maple nut crunch.
Mike Brown needs to WAKE UP! The offense was sputtering last night yet we did not give Kolek enough playing time. Not to mention the fact that Kolek played a role in us beating them last game. Look, if JB and Jose can play together then there shouldn’t be a problem with Kolek and Jose playing. I will give him credit for one thing, I think I trust Kole’s as an inbound passer more than probably anyone else on the team, so I do give him credit for bringing him in at the end of the game for that as he got Shamet a relatively open shot.

Siakam wasn't even Siakam when he entered the league.
Mo is Mo now than he was then.

Hah. I had the thought about the draft position but figured my tinfoil hat was on too tight.
