I hope Alvarado is as good as his boosters claim he is.

It feels like a major lapse in judgment for Kolek to be out of the rotation.

There is no way I can envision a championship run with KAT. He just finds too many ways to Fck it up.

Sadly true -- he can't get out of his own way.

His offensive diet (shot selection) looks like such crap. The god damn drives with 50/50 chance of foul going on him.

KAT was a turnstile on defense tonight. It's not about one play.

I saw guys making shots in Mikal face all night and torching Jalen/Jose - didn't notice Kat as much but I'm sure he sucked as well.

I will say though that Kat at least hits the boards and will pass - Jalen chucking 30 something shots and dominating ball.

They just feel soft. Yes missing OG/Mitch but we are always going to have some combo of Jalen/Kat/Mikal out there defending and we still don't feel like we have guys who can actually handle the ball.

Pacers nothing to lose and playing loose may be the key issue but just a disgusting game.

We do not have good enough consistent defense or leadership to get to the finals as of right now. Maybe it can change but I don't see it. This team is flawed and cannot be trusted.

Brunson scored 40 but he was awful in the 4th and missed his last 4 or 5 shots. And he was embarrassing on defense. The entire team was so not blaming it all on him but it starts with him and if he takes games off on defense, the team usually follows. And Nembhard has his number. He always seems to outplay him when it matters.

Same bs from KAT. I give him credit for making those FTs at the end cause that's not easy to do but the offensive fouls and lapses on defense are frustrating.

Alvarado got destroyed by McConnell. Hukporti was really bad too. Leon should add a 3rd veteran Center with that 15th spot.

We are lucky the Hicks have the worst record in the East and won't be in the playoffs cause that team just owns us and would send us home again. But with Haliburton coming back and a high pick plus adding Zubac, they are going to keep being our daddy for the foreseeable future so get used to it.

This is what I saw as well - +1.

Didn't look so hot tonight did he.

Was picturing big backcourt like OKC shooting 12 footers over Jose/Jalen/Deuce.

LivingLegend wrote:Can Brunson please pass the ball a few times to Kat --- so tired of him just ignoring Kat for anything other than a pick to free himself.

Also Brunson/Bridges sucked on D tonight.

Plus Kat an idiot.

Jose/Mo didn't look so hot either. Jose got schooled by both TJ and Nembhart.

Plus Jackson once again scrub of the night -- Pacers completely suck but world beaters against Knicks. We chase their ball movement around like idiots rather than just manning up and or switching -- running around like chickens with heads chopped off.

DISGUSTING LOSS - one of worst of season.

Let's call it for what it is: Brunson is a ball hog.

The only teams that win championship with so much focus on one player do it with enormous talents that make brilliant passes in crunch time.

Jordan would go ISO to win games, but then he'd burn you in the clutch with a great pass to an open teammate.

I don't really feel that Brunson will ever pass the ball in those situations. He's taking that shot.

I was explaining today to someone why Clyde is one of the all-time greats and why'd you want the ball in his hands as a closer instead of Brunson (given the choice as a hypothetical of course).

The reason is that when a defender saw Clyde coming towards them as he brought the ball up the court with the clock running out they had absolutely no idea if Clyde would take the shot himself or find the open man to take the last shot. This creates an imbalance for the defender that a great player exploints.

But when a defender sees Brunson in that situation they know he's shooting it. Brunson happens to be such an elite ISO player it often works for him, but all the same the defense is keyed on him and him only. It is why more teams are swarming Brunson because he can be very predictable even when he's difficult to guard.

There needs to be more versatility to his game as the lead PG. Our offense is not getting the most out of our players with so much ISO. I know Brown started out wanting to correct that and for a while we were moving and grooving, but over the course of this season it is going back to more ISO Brunson and less team cohesion on offense.

You won't win a ring doing that.

He should have some good games with familiarity. But Kolek is a better shooter and gets guys into flow states being a basic bitch point guard and I like that about him.

BlueKnickers @ 2/10/2026 11:22 PM
It also pisses me off to see Jumble Clunkson on the floor while Kolek rides the bench. WTF?
BlueKnickers @ 2/10/2026 11:23 PM
And I'll keep reminding folks that McCullar is a good player.

One of the best defenders we have and he can contribute some offense and make the right pass and grab a board.

He should also be on the floor before Clankton is.

Because on most nights they don’t play like the team you grew up loving. Well, at least it’s one of my problems with them: the lack of a consistent defensive identity that carries from game to game. Between KAT and Mikal, I think one or both will probably be gone in the offseason.

It’s the same story every time: motivation. This Knicks team just takes many nights off from playing with passion and pride. While we are talking about hating this team and remembering too well how they eliminated us last time and how we should rank up the intensity, this team just goes through the motions until the next losing streak or the next game they actually decide to apply some defense. That’s what I hate about them, but this has been the same issue for the past seasons.

Knicksfan @ 2/11/2026 12:44 AM
The moment I saw this game and how poorly the season was going for the Pacers, I knew this was gonna be one of their “NBA Finals” of the season. I hate them, but nothing against that philosophy for them as they really played like they wanted this one.

The Knicks? I keep saying it since the last few seasons and unfortunately that hasn’t changed: we are a team with a very poor attention span, very undisciplined and very inconsistent. Games like these show we are an immature team with the ability to concentrate for a few games and then revert back to our problems. How can it be multiple seasons where we just don’t consistently know how to react to aggression and don’t carry our defense to every game? Shots may be falling or not, but defense should always be there and it honestly starts with motivation.

If this team played consistent defense, they would truly be an elite team, and not the inconsistent one they are. This team just doesn’t change.

I've seen enough of KAT. I'm getting sick of him complaining on every call and him walking half way up the court after a made FG. Not mentally tough and looks like a buffoon always complaining about non-calls. Agree with others...this trade was bad and will haunt us until he's gone.

nycericanguy @ 2/11/2026 8:21 AM
Kolek should be playing, taking him completely out of the rotation, even with Deuce out. I don't get it. Especially on a night where Jose didn't have it.

IDK how even Jordyn Woods doesn't cringe watching KAT pouting out there, even Breen sounds fed up with it. We have the best coaches record in challenges, yet we never challenge KAT's fouls, that should tell KAT something... but he's a buffoon so he rather just pout and throw tantrums and go around laughing. he looks absolutely ridiculous. I have so much 2nd hand embarrassment watching him.

We have a good team.
But as long as I have waited, having a good team is not good enough.
Don’t see winning a chip when the player you count on the most and shoots the majority of the shots is a little over 6 feet tall. Great player but top teams have several guys to shut that down.

TBF I think this is a thing in the NBA in general these days. the game is too fast paced and unpredictable for teams to be 100% locked in all the time.

those 90's knicks, they played a slow, grind it out, predictable half court game. There were very few long rebounds off missed 3's that caused havoc. You knew opponents were running an offense and werne't just going to jack up a 25 footer with 20 seconds on the shot clock.

every team plays the same now, just jack up 3's and penetrate and dish, but defenses are constantly in scramble mode now more than ever.

Case in point, our best offense is literally Mitch grabbing an offensive REB and finding a 3pt shooter on a broken play.

Chandler @ 2/11/2026 9:57 AM
square kick in the nuts. Pacers did nothing particularly special. They did hit their open 3s

We lost that game more than they won it.

Hoping we get our act together at the right time

I feel this

SergioNYK @ 2/11/2026 10:29 AM
I went to bed more annoyed and angry than any other loss this season including both Detroit losses. It made me question everything about this team and right now I feel like this is a pretender and an overrated soft team that lacks toughness both on and off the court (in the locker room) to get to the Finals as they were and are expected to do so. I also do not think Brunson isn't good enough as the best player on a team to get them to a Finals either. He's not MJ or Kobe. He lacks the leadership, killer instinct and doesn't make his teammates better. I also absolutely despise how he's buddy buddy with the hicks. Like when Detroit plays us, they take it personal and play as if they hate us. We kind of play the same when we play Boston. But whenever we play Indiana, we do not play with the same urgency or hate and Brunson and Hart being best buddies with Haliburton and McConnell contributes to that imho. I kid you not if we played these same hicks in a playoff series even without Haliburton, they would STILL beat us and end our season.

And if Leon hired Brown in large part so he can get the most out of KAT, he failed miserably. They do not fit together and there needs to be a divorce this summer. KAT is not Joakim Noah and shouldn't be used like him. He had some scrub named Potter on him and we didn't get feature him!

It just feels like we are the most bland 34-20 ever and it really feels like we're getting sent home early in round 2.
