Going forward I think Robinson is going to be the key to the Knicks hopes. Atlanta didn't even really have a center and Embiid couldn't jump. So far the Knicks have been able to dominate the glass on both sides. From here on out they will be playing bigger lineups that are going to be able to clog the paint. I think the final wrinkle the Knicks should have is being able to pair KAT and Robinson more. Ideally Mitch should be getting 20+ minutes a game going forward. I still think he's a break in case of emergency type player, but to get past Cleveland and whoever comes out of the west, Knicks are going to need Robinson at the top of his game.
Just checked Mitchell stats, in game 6 vs Atlanta he had a 208 ORtg and an 88 DRtg.

100%. I said this in the game thread:

I dunno. We have to slow down Donovan Mitchell and prevent Duncan Robinson from killing us from deep. Stay down and don’t fall for Hardens bullshit and limit his trips to the charity stripe and we should be good. If our offense is humming we got this. Team with the most points wins…..every time 😁
jskinny35@ 5/18/2026 2:52 PM
Duncan is on the Pistons I think - you may mean Sam Merrill? I think the Cavs are one of the few teams we can play faster and outpace them!

Cleveland has gotten by in the playoffs primarily by scoring within the 3 point line. So far they are shooting 71% at the rim, 57% on 2PA vs. 34% from 3. If Knicks can shut down the paint, the Cavs won't be able to keep up.

All annoying white guys look the same! Is Shamet our guy? Is he annoying enough? IS this why we need Kolek?

I'm going to say it again: Have Mitch play the first 6 mins of quarters so that "Hack-a-Mitch" is not usable a strategy. They are not going to start fouling while they are not yet in the penalty.

Yes this is the series where Mitch gets himself paid.

Are you assuming Knicks coaching is not cognizant of how and when teams will use the strategy? Wouldn't hacking be sort of situational to the game and what is happening? Also how is Mitch's minutes now patterned assuming KAT is not in foul trouble and how would it differ than what your proposing? If they would use the strategy as you suggest, what are we taking away?

Here we go again. No, I'm not assuming anything about the Knicks coaching staff. I'm on a Knicks FAN SITE AND EXPRESSING AN IDEA/OPINION. Is that so hard to comprehend?

I asked questions in respect to your idea. You have repeated it so I just assumed you have some chess moves thought through. Is that so hard to comprehend? Your either really into this and thought it thru or arrogant to think your steps ahead of coach. Being on a fan site we talking hoop. Talk hoop.

I actually don't know what he gets out of being here. Doesn't express an actual sports opinion/idea, just wants to play hall monitor and/or take down others talk.

Not a fan. We have a good thing going. I want us to establish our rhythm doing what we’ve been doing w KAT in high post and lots of movement
When Mitch comes in he has to make his minutes impactful and hit FT if fouled.

Also seems like KATs rim protection has improved. When he’s the hub, he becomes a well rounded player. Will be interesting to see if Mike brown makes any changes. My guess is nope. Let them adjust to us.

That Hack a Mitch gets on my nerves. That’s not basketball. I hope he makes them pay by getting g in the penalty early as panos said, and hitting his free throws.
