Knicks · Let the chaos begin: Mitch to the Celtics (page 2)

I wish he had gone to the Lakers or something though I will say. Mitch was a huge impact guy but he might be one of those guys thats better to let go of a year early than a year too late. He was getting noticeably bigger and was winded and gasping for air even just playing 20 minutes sometimes. And the FT's getting worse and worse.

I have faith we'll get a good replacement.

Look on the bright side; Dolan saved a lot in tax payments and we don't have to worry about the 2034 pick getting frozen.

If he starts hitting his FT next year, I'm gonna be PISSED!

Abso-fckin-lutely

I agree. I think the Celtics may regret this signing

Half the people in here will be gone due to liver failure by then

Luck Febron

However, as long as he continues progressing, Diawara's minutes are going to be wayyyyy up

He has the length of a C and can become an important help defender on the frontlines or even switch on to opposing Centers himself if he gets stronger

gradyandrew @ 7/1/2026 12:15 PM
I can't imagine the Boston crowd being so forgiving on those missed free throws. Aww shit, I'm really bummed out by this.
BlueKnickers @ 7/1/2026 12:16 PM
kind of sad to break up the Okie duo of Mitch and Deputy Dawg.

I was looking forward to post-game hillbilly round-ups

BlueKnickers @ 7/1/2026 12:20 PM
Knicks are going to pick up two young athletic bigs you've never heard of and implement a run and stun offense

When we play Boston, Mitch will be huffing and puffing at halfcourt as we lay in another fast break bucket with our squadron of hustlers

nycericanguy @ 7/1/2026 12:32 PM
I have a feeling more is going to come out about Mitch's broken finger too. that was a very unserious thing to do right before the finals and I'm sure the FO wasn't happy. Perhaps we kept it under wraps because we didn't want to risk Mitch not getting paid.

Diabate makes too much sense, he has to be the move.
jaydh @ 7/1/2026 12:33 PM
Adding the best offensive rebounder in the league to a team that shoots a lot of 3s is a perfect match.
aggo @ 7/1/2026 12:37 PM
mitch is injury prone and has multiple surgeries on his ankle/foot as a 7footer.
nycericanguy @ 7/1/2026 12:40 PM
I'm not gonna hate on Mitch because his impact is real, but he was a luxury for us, not someone that a team should be dependent on. 60 games and 19mpg was one of his most available seasons in years, he might not be able to replicate that, especially if a team is more reliant on him and not resting him on B2B's.

He was an above average replacement. Now we have no replacement for when KAT gets into foul trouble.

Dolan's 2nd apron mandate.....

fitzfarm @ 7/1/2026 1:03 PM
He could have picked anywhere else and I’d be like good for him…. Now fuck him he’s an enemy, he’s gonna look real ugly in that Celtic green.

Enjoy the bricks from the line.

Now what the fuck are we gonna do for the back up 5
