I like the idea of Diawara at center, especially with an off-season of strength training. Would definitely give a different dynamic from Drummond and somewhat emulating Mitch as a center defending the parameter.

A 6’11 295 lb guy who average less than 5 boards as a starting full time Center. Those were the days when he was the franchise.
Curry had one elite skill, but it was not enough. His hand control of the ball around the rim was some of the best close range shooting I've ever seen. The guy had magic in his hands, but he was such a zero defensively, a weak rebounder and a putrid passer for someone with such good hands and he had almost no hoops IQ, so he was a massive waste of talent.
The ungodly talent in his hands was a born ability, but he was lazy about developing his game so it didn't really matter. But Jesus he sometimes did stuff around the rim that made me wish he actually gave a damn, because the talent was there.
Curry is another example that talent in the NBA doesn't mean much. Great players have an elite mental framework regardless of the talent they were born with. Curry had no mental framework, just a set of gifted hands.
I really mean it when I say Curry had potential. But he lacked the mental equipment to go with his physical talent. He did not have to end up like Big Snacks, who was never going to amount to anything no matter what.
I agree. Curry did have a post up ability on offense that was special and scouts saw it prior to him being drafted which is why he was a top draft pick by the bulls. But like you said he was insanely lazy not just with developing his offensive game but also his conditioning.

His shooting was horrific during summer league. If he plays PF or C he can get away with not being a great shooter
We also still lack depth at Center. Drummond is slow and fat.
Diawara had the hot streak with regular minutes when in the rotation.
I'd look at that subset of games as to his potential. Not the garbage minutes.
Shot poorly in SL, then had surgery on a finger.
I'd be hesitant to define his shooting ability based on a few SL games and then change the trajectory of his career positioning based on it being August 10th and we our roster is not settled with a suitable back up.

His shooting upside is actually excellent regardless of his horrible two games in SL. I was as hard as anyone on him for those stinkers, but it was still just two games.
I didn't know about the finger. Hard to evaluate SL knowing that now.
Calling him a stretch big is reasonable since I think he can turn into a legit deep threat, but his handle is still highly undeveloped which means his ability to break down defenses is still mostly dependent on a quick decision to go inside and having a very long stride that might get him past defenders. But his penetration skills aside from that element of surprise is still shaky.
Which leads us to your conclusion to put him closer to the basket.
I disagree because:
1) I don't know how much banging he can handle in the paint
2) I do want to develop his stretch game and his handle to get inside; putting him in the paint may decelerate that development
3) Right now, I believe his outside shot is his best chance to stay in the rotation, regardless of SL woes
Maybe you're right and he can bang down low. I'm doubtful of this at present.

Yes. Seems like they want to keep every spot open for when teams cut players later on. Also it’s possible the Knicks like Liam Robbins more than Jemison. We will see.

I don’t think there is another team worth no 2-way players signed. Most have 2 or 3 locked up already.

so many teams with roster crunches, good players will be waived and can be signed later may be the strategy.

Conditioning will definitely help. Diawara is an athlete with length he can develop into a PF/C in today’s NBA

Celtics are extremely butthurt we embarrassed them in the playoffs two years ago. That’s why they rushed Tatum back last regular season just so he could get injured in the Sixers series. They are consumed with hatred for us.
But then they step on their own d1ck and trade prime Jaylen Brown for washed up 36 year old Paul George.
