Celtics are extremely butthurt we embarrassed them in the playoffs two years ago. That’s why they rushed Tatum back last regular season just so he could get injured in the Sixers series. They are consumed with hatred for us.
But then they step on their own d1ck and trade prime Jaylen Brown for washed up 36 year old Paul George.

I doubt any of this has to do with the Knicks.
Hunter Dickinson and Julian Reese are 2 bigs to consider going into training camp for 2-way deals or non-guaranteed contracts for that 14th spot. One thing I would consider is signing Nickel to the 14th spot and then signing two bigs on 2-way deals with the intent of promoting 1 to the 15th roster spot later in the year once there’s enough room under the second apron to do so. For reference, if the Knicks sign a veteran to the minimum (2.5M cap hit) they have about 800k left below the second apron. If they signed Nickel to a second round exception , that’s only around 1.4M, leaving about 1.9M in second apron space, so they would be able to promote a big from a 2-way contract very early in the season. But I’m sure they won’t do anything until they see what other players get released closer to the start of the year.
In my mind we need a young guy who if KAT needs sometime off can start as 33 year old Drummond minutes have been about 19 per game. Drummond can finish the game in that instance.
Huk Started 5 games last season. Kat played 75 games. 72 year before.
For that matter the upgraded version of him falls less. Fouls less. Whines less, and wins championships!

He may be 41 with a ton of mileage but probably still faster than Andre Drummond
We just need a third string center who knows what boxing out is

If I had to make an uneducated guess a team with front court depth will have a need for Deuce and make the trade. His contract is a huge plus and he can help a team right away. Is the CLT? Or NOLA? Or a three team thing? Way too many things to guess on, but if Knicks are serious about having its planets lined up for a playoff run than a wire to wire 82 game seaosn it will need front court depth to preserve KAT in some fashion.

I looked him up and was suprised he only played 34 games for us. 8 Year career, 5 with Denver played 213 games, started half of them! Had about 4 nice seasons, was 13th as 6MOY. And yes, he has a ring with the 2016 Cavs!

Missi and Diabate are discussed a bit. I’m watching Kel’el Ware. Would be hard for Bucks to pivot so quickly on him since he was essentially the centerpiece of the Giannis trade.
Also have a half-hearted eye on James Wiseman. He’s kind of just still out there.

Wiseman, forgot about him. 5 nba games in two years. Waived by both Toronto and Indiana. Tore his achilles almost two years ago. Its not going well for him.

All true. My “half-hearted” is about a guy like this that can’t stay on the court. But he is also 6’11 with a 7’6 wingspan.
At this point he is in the salvage pile. But if we are talking camp invites with non-guaranteed money? I’d like a closer look.
