Have the dodgers put billingsley on the block or something? They are losing lowe and possibly maddux. I just don't see them losing/trading a 3rd SP. That would leave them with only 2.

Some players are just not for trade. I think it's easier to fill positional players through FA than pitching. This trade would make them need a LOT of pitching since Kennedy and Hughes are no guarentee to even start in the ML. And btw, I'm sure they would reject a kennedy/cano for billingsley offer in an LA second.

now we have to be patient and let it play out. it's not the time to start shipping them out for a quick fix.

You're right, we are behind those guys. I can't help but think that adding draft choice Gerrit Cole would've made it a hell of a lot closer in a couple of years though. It's ashame we didn't sign him. I don't understand how they let that happen - give the kid the money. And even on the kid's part - you enter the draft, get picked by your favorite team then decide to go to UCLA??? WTF happened? Don't understand it.... I guess we'll never really know the whole story. He looked like the real deal though...

I think every GM in baseball would acknowledge that the Yankees made a collosal error in judgment in passing on the Johan trade just to keep unproven kids.
